I like the redheaded Russian chick on DwtS. Does that count?

My fave this season was Hope Solo. That girl was built! But half the time her costume covered her abs. Smiley: disappointed

I'm actually quite proud of myself for never having seen that show but recognizing her as the goalie of the US women's soccer team.

Don't ask me what sporting event... women's world cup? Olympics? Both?

Ok. My first thought was "What the hell is PBR?". After several minutes of free-associative thinking, I'm left with the somewhat bizarre conclusion that you meant "Pabst Blue Ribbon". Is that correct? And what the hell does that have to do with hipsters? Smiley: confused

Same reason they think it's ironically hip to wear bowling shirts or mechanics' shirts (even better if it has someone else's name on the patch)

Hipsters are apparently very different in the rest of the country then. I've never seen any hipsters around here who'd be caught dead wearing or drinking any of that stuff. Maybe the California hipsters have decided it's hip to eschew the "normal" hipster stuff? Too hip to be hip? No clue. Just never heard of any of these things associated with those people (and yes, I've known a number of them).

Although I read somewhere once upon a time that PBR's inroads with the hipster crowd was fairly carefully planned and marketed. Sort of like idiots deciding that Grey Goose was a premium vodka.

You're just making fun of Smash now, aren't you?

Dunno what to tell you there. Maybe your hipsters don't get the newsletter.

If he's drinking Grey Goose because he thinks it's a premium vodka, I'm cool with him being made fun of.

I know you're not aware of this, since you are part of it, but California is a completely different dimension apart from the rest of the known universe.

I've known PBR to be best used to teach minors how to drink before they go off to college. One such friend is such a hipster, he grew a Johnny Ringo moustache - and not for Movember, either.

The hipsters in Athens GA were drinking PBR before it was cool.

The craft brew snobs in this town don't talk to the hipsters any more.

Just as well. Craft brew sold out and went mainstream, man.

No, just snobs. Not special-snowflake enough to be hipsters, UNLESS they've discovered a particularly obscure craft beer that no one else likes.

My line-up of shows is Fringe, Grimm, American Horror Story, Walking Dead, Ice Road Truckers (yeah, I know, but it can be pretty intense sometimes), Person of Interest and occasionally Harry's Law and I'm still a fan of L&O:SVU. Oh, and Game of Thrones when it resumes sometime in the next decade. Smiley: mad

Sanctuary, Haven, Always Sunny, and Alphas are pretty good. I watch Tosh.0 now and then, but it can be very hit or miss.

If you didn't check out Neverland earlier this week, I'd recommend seeing when syfy is going to encore it. I thought it was decent.

I've made a real attempt to have 'shows' as in the past I've often felt a bit dumb and left out of the detailed water-cooler conversations about some of the more popular series. So, I'm currently making an effort to follow Terra Nova and Once Upon a Time. My husband watches all sorts of stupid stuff so sometimes I'm exposed. Currently, he's all about the Alaska Gold-mining show and The Big Bang.

Anyway, none of my historically favorite shows made this list. Mostly they're on PBS - Nova, Nature, Austin City Limits, All Creatures, etc. I think we can assume they'd be liberally loved and conservatively disliked. But really who could dislike Antiques Roadshow.

I do like Stephen Colbert, he's cute, smart and pretty dang funny, but mostly I watch him on youtube videos that people link me as his show is on during my gaming time. Smiley: blush

Oh I totally agree with you here, half the fun of watching is to make fun of people, but Jeopardy is over by time I get back from work so I'm kinda hosed here.

When I worked at Rent-a-Center I'd be vacuuming the showroom floor at 7 after closing, and put Jeopardy in captions on the bigscreens so I could read and play along. The shift manager though I was crazy, shouting out random things while cleaning up in the dark. "Straits of Gibraltar! Pythagoras! Grand Tetons! Phrenology!"

I'm conservative, not a Republican redneck.

There's a couple of shows on there I like, but by far and large, it's all utter sh*t.

Edit: Having reread it, the only shows on the lists I do like are hated by one of the groups, but not on the favourite list of the other.

Man, I f***ing love Jeopardy. One of the biggest losses in not having cable...

My aunt was actually on the show once, and my dad took the test to play--he ended up one right answer short of getting on. But both of those were back when it was a dollar and cents kind of game show. XD It was literally the next season when they had the award hike.

Before it was cool to be ironic, me and friends down at college (mid 90's) drank Stag beer. Much worse than PBR. If we had all been old enough, we would've been hitting up the local bar that had it on tap.

Speaking of cheap beer, a few of my classmates went to one of the local tiny craft brew places to drown our sorrows in $2 pints tonight.

$2 pints of craft beer is heavenly. Almost made up for that miserable data management final Smiley: frown

I lived off keystone light for about three years. Now that I'm financially stable my wife and I only drink that finest craft brews available.

Pretty much just Rogue Dead Guy and Harp Irish Lager for her.
