I'm pretty sure the whole book was figurative so yeah.

I don't think you know what figurative means. Even if you assume the entire book was fiction, that doesn't make the sword figurative.

One day Kelvy is going to realize that the world isn't broken down into evil people and Christians.

I hope.

#230Kelvyquayo, Posted: Dec 16 2011 at 8:04 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I don't think Christians are good; just forgiven by God.

It's even easier if it's just a sword.

You know, if you take a sword and glue elbow macaroni and glitter to it, it's still a literal sword. It doesn't become "figurative".

All you have to do is ask to be shown..

When some creepy Christian wants to show you something, you probably NEED AN ADULT!

We didn't find anything for pastapunk.

Try a popular search query like scarf, steampunk, owl, star wars, jewelry, party dress, earrings, iphone 4 case, necklace, or christmas instead.

Seriously.

I was raised Catholic, and tried a few different flavors of Christianity in my teens. Personally, I find Christianity to be seriously lacking in any fairness, critical thinking or respect. I want no part of a religion which has this idea that "I'm right and you're wrong, the end." If your God was truly all loving, he wouldn't punish people who chose to follow a different path but were still generally good people, or people who never even heard about Christianity. I also can't bring myself to be part of a religion that says things are wrong but doesn't say why. Excuse me for having an independent thought, but I want to know why something is wrong before I choose to agree or disagree that it is wrong. I also can't be part of a religion which does not treat men and women equally. Women have been treated like utter crap in the last 2000 years because of what it says in the Bible. Actually, probably closer to 6000 years I suppose, since the Old Testament is just as guilty.

I've had the belief for probably close to 10 years or more, that every religion out there is worshiping the same God(s) and Goddess(es), they just have different ways of going about it. That's one of the things that I love about religion as a whole, that there is so much diversity, and that if someone is willing to take the time to do some research, they can find whatever path fits them best.

I'm Wiccan, and I like my faith's singular guideline much better than Christianity's 10 commandments and thousands upon thousands of other rules. "And it harm none, do as thou wilt." Do what you want, as long as you don't harm anyone else. This allows for more open and independent thinking about morality. It also forces people to think about the consequences of their actions. There is no "homosexuality is wrong!" because homosexuality doesn't hurt anyone. There is no "sex before marriage is wrong!" because again, premarital sex in and of itself doesn't harm people. It is the people you choose to sleep with that can harm you, not the sex act itself. In fact, in my faith, sex is revered as a holy act of love. It isn't hushed or talked about only behind closed doors. It isn't naughty or dirty, it's beautiful.

TL;DR version: Quit proselytizing, and I like my religion better than yours. Smiley: tongue
