I thought I would mention that Elne and I are going to the Hack and Slash Christmas Show this evening. If she is feeling well that is.
I will be working on the ship today and tomorrow, but have Sunday off. Think I may see if she wants to visit one of our local art galleries. I will be firing the gun twice today as I am the only one qualified, it is not as much fun as it used to be.

Enjoy your weekends. The Solstice is nigh!

Well, the old family cat just died, she was 20 years old and lived a great life. So this weekend I'll spending a little bit of extra time with mom. The poor woman is absolutely heartbroken.

Aww, that's too bad, Lubri. Right before the holidays, too.

I have Mon-Wed off next week, work Thursday, have Fri-Mon off. Weird schedule, but whatever.

We've had four Christmases in a row where there was one or more less family members around, if you count pets, so it's almost a tradition now. The real crappy thing is that my stepfather works a 24 hour shift once every three days, so the day that we had to put the cat down, my mom had to sleep completely alone. She was always used to having Crystal there purring at her feet on those nights that he worked.

Handing in my final assignment before the end of term. Then I'm going home to visit the family and friends.

I will probably be toasting the Hitch who passed away yesterday with some fellow fans.

Other than that it's time to do some Xmas shopping, blergh.

I gotta shovel out the guest room for my daughter and her bf who will be here early next week.

We've got to cut down a x-mas tree this weekend. We get them out of our own little forest; It's a bit challenging finding one that fills the need.

I think I'm due for a nice dinner out somewhere - maybe tonight.

I'm mostly alone this weekend, my wife's best friend is beginning her divorce from her over the top douchebag of a husband so there is a whole Saturday of man bashing ahead for her. This equates to me enjoying the Diablo 3 beta some more and destroying the chinese buffet with some buddies.

Me and the wife will probably spend an exiting night filling out cards..cards..and more cards.. Then more shopping procrastination.
Other than that the usual practicing guitar, reading (stuff) and think about if I want to get a tree or not, it's a little late I think but I may just set one up for my mom..
beside those.. not working is good enough for me.

I took the day off. I think we're going to the mall and parting ways so the fiance can pick up my present. For my part, I'll probably just go be the awkward guy above 18 milling around in the Gamestop.

Then we'll finish off decorating the tree. It's just got one line of lights around the bottom right now, which looks semi-pathetic.

Other than that, writing, Battlefield 3, and Skyrim, in that order.

use if I can't make it through the night at work.

Poker game tonight and tomorrow I'm going to the casino.

Since others shared some downers I will as well.

Before casino Saturday and most of Sunday I'll be spending with my Mom to comfort her after her first surgery for her breast cancer. We're pretty hopeful because the doctor says it's treatable and we've had 6 family members get cancer and they all survived. My family dies when we mean to.

Resting from a ridiculously hectic work week. Let me tell you, the Japanese make great TVs and Cars, but OMFG don't let them design a tester. And there's a completely different cultural thing about how they debug problems that can drive westerners nuts. Try having an email conversation (with timezone differences), that consists of me saying "here's a list of problems I'm seeing. I think it might be X, Y, or Z going on, but I don't know how your system is supposed to work. Can you provide me any information about how systemA gets information from systemB that might help? And do those errors indicate any specific problem?" and getting an answer like "did you check the manual for configuring X?" and my personal favorite: "SystemA gets its configuration during boot time". Argh!!! I wanted to know how it did it, and where the **** configuration files are hidden. I **** well know it reconfigures itself at boot time. /pulls-out-hair

Seriously. After three days of back and forth, he casually slips in a request that I send him a couple boot-log files hidden on the system in the middle of a bunch of other run-around type non-answers. I'm like: There's a log? Hot ****! Fixed the problem literally 30 seconds after knowing where that one file was. There's absolutely zero system administration level documentation on these things. Sigh...

So... Heavy drinking will ensue tonight. On Saturday, I will be going to watch my niece perform in the youth production of the Nutcracker (again). That's always fun. After that, going to a work group dinner thing at some restaurant. There may be beer involved.

Sunday will be resting, watching football. Might do some Christmas shopping as well. Hopefully next week will be relatively relaxed (not counting on it though).
