The husband mocked me endlessly when I would set the alarm clock for 3AM to send out my fleets when we were at war with everyone. I had to stop the mocking. However I still use that sexy blue haired femme avatar on another forum (too cheap to buy premium here).

Ahh yes the waking up in the early am to make sure my fleets got home safely and was sent out again before harm struck lol. That is the main reason i became a massive turtle on uni 4. I never had to fs in the 3+ years i had that awesome defense. I spoke to the player with the number 1 fleet and asked him if he could take me and this is his answer "No i would lose 4/5 of my fleet and it would take nearly 85,000 recyclers to clean up the mess" lol.

I tried 49 names on Everquest trying to find a name not already taken. Finally Ladihawk was born. I liked the name and have kept it.

49! I always try for SnowWhite for a (pale) male Blood Elf, but Snow White is always taken wherever I go. So is Rose Red. Stupid Gestalt.

Seriously that is troubling.

Even Joph who has posted in here so much that they stopped keeping track occasionally leaves. I assume it's to pet his many cats or go to a movie (alone) but still he does occasionally leave.

But you you never do. That is............sad.

What movie are you going to go see though, is the real question here.

In completely unrelated news, I'd like to remind our viewers that a new Socket 2011 processor currently costs $650, and we do accept bribes to ban people with names that rhyme with "beefx"... Christmas money, take up a collection, unmarked bearer bonds, gold, silver, whatever.

You mean his retarded cousin disappeared for a while? I always viewed him as the lurker who comes in at weird times to bash people but in the process makes himself look like a complete tool.

I wish I had money to give Kaolian to aid in the banning of a certain person but alas I lack available funds. Also the person I would want gone wouldn't rhyme with "*************

It really depends on the level of the ban, and how much effort one decides to go to enforce it. Can someone with a workable knowledge of a proxy get around an IP ban? absolutly. But only if they were smart enough to never have posted with their origional IP address in the first place. There are regionally in any given are of the country only 3-5 options for internet connectivity. Once those are also burned, you tend to be out of luck aside from posting from public internet places like oh, for example the chicago university library (/cough godraiden cough)

The amusing thing is we can ban accounts faster than someone can create them, and one doesn't necessarily have to even ever post on an account for us to be able to remove it. We have certain tools available that were built solely for the purpose of identifying known troublemaker accounts and killing them before they can post. Obviously things slip through there, but its pretty effective for the most part. Which is really hard to prove "Hey, look at all the forum spam you didn't get!", etc.

The biggest waste of time any spammer has ever attempted, was someone wrote a script to create thousands of random yahoo.com e-mail addresses, create thousands of accounts here to go with them (that loophole has since been fixed) and then tried to set up a mass PM spamming campaign. unfortunatly for them, they didn't know about the PM spam limiters, so what was likely dozens of hours of hard work, only ever ended up spamming maybe 20-30 people, and I got to ban thousands of accounts, which is actually still pretty fun.
