http://www.wnd.com/2012/01/teen-girl-scout-calls-for-cookie-boycott/

Quote:
A reportedly 14-year-old Girl Scout has joined with parents and Scout alumni to call for a boycott of the widely popular Girl Scout cookies, claiming the organization is using cookie proceeds to push a radical homosexual agenda at the expense of the Scouts’ safety.

The article goes on to clarify that the whole issue stems from the Girl Scouts USA allowing trans-gender males to join the Girl Scouts so long as they identify as female and their parents present them as female.

Thoughts? I personally think that a 14-year-old girl wouldn't come up with something like this on her own unless she had some... persuading from her parents, as well as the fact that, while I'm surprised trans-gender males are allowed in the Girl Scouts in the first place, I think that's a phenomenal step in the right direction for teaching the youth of America how to be more tolerant and accepting of people different from themselves.

I'll start killing Girl Scouts if I don't get my yearly supply of Thin Mint Chocolate cookies.

Just make sure you go for the trans-gender ones. Once they're gone, the cookie production will resume.

Meh. There's already the American Heritage Girls, started in 1995 when the most conservative folks got ticked at lesbians being allowed as scout leaders. They're a pro-God version of the Scouts that may suit this girl better.

You have any kids, or know any kids in the 8-14 range? Until puberty, the last thing any boy wants to do is hang out with dumb girls. They don't even know how to play G.I. Joes!

Kids still play with G.I. Joes, right?

Woooooooo... 4.0!

I had a little girl come to the door the other day selling cookies. I didn't even know they did that any more; these days I'm just harassed in the office and at family parties to buy stuff. Anyway, to the chagrin of reportedly 14 year old girls everywhere, I happily placed an order for a few boxes and even paid up-front.

I've only run into them in the mall. They set up stands there sometimes to do their peddling. Once, I think I bought like 8 boxes of Samoas, intended entirely for personal consumption.

I fucking love Samoas.

PS: Well, it's clear what aspect of this topic I'm interested in.

Girl Scout cookies are such a scam. The same box of cookies you buy from cute little girl scout for four bucks you can buy in the grocery store for two.

That said, kudo's to the Girl Scouts for not excluding the girly boyz.

Yeah, I understand that. Last I checked the girl scouts were getting fifty cents/box.

I'll still buy a half dozen boxes or more. I'll happily consume them knowing that I know.....

The crack they lace in Samoas can't be recreated in a store bought cookie.

On the other hand, a friend knows the recipe to recreate the flavor of a Tagalong:

- 1 box ritz PB crackers
- 1 box candy chocolate coating

Melt chocolate. Dip crackers in chocolate, coating thoroughly. Set down on wax paper. Let cool.

Enjoy the flavor of a Tagalong year round.

You pay upfront? You really are too trustworthy!

I sold a lot of cookies when I was in the scouts, it was a mixed scouts, I never had any complaints about that.

I feel bad for the Boy Scouts. The Girl Scouts get to sell highly addictive and tastey cookies. The boys get to sell popcorn. Talk about a setup for failure.
