Ya, I'd imagine that the storyline of a game is a minimal development cost. Even developing the idea of the battle and control system can't be that high a cost
when compared to the actually graphics design and programming onto a new platform.

If they are going to drastically change the gameplay, I would prefer they release it under a new name. When something changes radically from the version you fell in love with, it annoys the fanbase, like the 2 newest ratchet and clank games (started as a single person platformer, last 2 release are 4 person platformer and a tower defense game).

I keep fearing that they will drastically alter single player Dragon Quest games to make it "fresh and modern". I play DQ for old-fashioned playstyle and I want to kill everybody who says the next game should be more like the Elder Scrolls or whatever.

Haven't played the tower defense game, haven't found it. As for adding multiplayer to the game, not seeing how its so horrible. You can still play alone, don't bother with playing as Quark or Nafarious if you feel it ruins it for you. Having friends over to play it with me and my girl is a lot of fun for us. Easy game, stupid mistakes and a bit of a challenge have made for fun times.

Understand it's not your cup of tea but it didn't ruin it. You want to play as Rachet and get things done, go right ahead. You want to have fun with friends, off line or on, you have that too.

That depends for me. I'm more concerned of the story line, but the game can't be too far off. I loved X-2's game-play, but it was so cheesy. At the same time, I don't want to play the same game with a different story. It should at least be some minor changes in game play like in XIII-2.

I rarely play console games, but Little Big Planet and Resident Evil 5 are both fun as co-op.

WiiU has been pretty decent as far as co-op is concerned.

I too like FF9 more than FF7, but I'm not sure if that would necessarily be the case if 9 had come first. I think I enjoyed it so much because of 7 and 8, with their more serious, futuristic settings. 9 was a return to what I missed. If it had been the first PS FF game, I am sure I would have still liked it, but it wouldn't have had that added bonus of nostalgia.

We'd like to be able to sit side by side on the comfortable couch playing together, old school-like. And on the computer, you have to buy 2 copies of the games in order to play anything online these days.

And his laptop... well, it's slow and I don't want to say it sucks, but it sucks.

Don't forget old school games, if you still have the systems. 64, Gamecube and Dreamcast are great multi-player systems.

I took a vow to never sell any video games. I did it once or twice when I was 10 and realized that I was better off just keeping them rather than selling them. Of course, you could sell to a person and get more money, but since then, I had a collection that I didn't want to lose.
