So you're saying that Google has images of your huge tracks of land?

In this day and age, if you're assuming that you're not being filmed, you're an idiot.

Also, since when has "I didn't realize I was being filmed" ever stand up as a plausible defense when you were in a public place. You're fine being an *******, but only if the only record of it is word of mouth? Cool, now we have reason for you to stop being an ******* in general.

Not that it matters, but the glass isn't particularly... camouflaged. It's probably a lot more obvious than recording something on your phone, in most cases.

The main problem I see with it is for people with Social phobia, agoraphobia, low self esteem problems and body-image problems. These are people who WILL have to overcome great stress, even great fear, about leaving their houses once it's feasible there is a good chance they will pass someone wearing a Google Glass on the street. Strangers seeing them and judging them is not as bad an idea as your horrible, unphotogenic image being recorded for "all time" and God-Knows-Where it will be displayed and What it'll be captioned with, or associated with.

I know logically a phone being used to capture an image is more obvious, but at the same time... a phone being used to capture an image is more obvious, if you catch my drift. Being in public, image capture has always been legal in most democracies. It just wasn't so saturated. Now people will have a heck of a lot of serendipitously caught images that they will have to choose to delete, rather than having to make an effort to capture chosen images in the first place.

So Google has images of your husband's huge tracks of land? ^-^

I'm honestly confused by the notion that it's obvious when you're being captured on a phone. Do you think all people hold up the device when trying to take photos discreetly?

No, it'll look like they're texting, or reading something. That person with their phone out in front of you on the bus? Yeah, they have hundreds of opportunities to take your photo without you ever knowing.

Maybe this is a different perception based on the fact that camera phones had become relatively standard by the time I was in high school, and smart phones in college. So I'm more or less used to it.

But the reality is that, if you can't see the screen, and the phone isn't pointing decidedly away from you, you have no reason to suspect they aren't taking your picture. Of course, there's little reason for most people to suspect they're picture-worthy in the first place.

The reality is that the only difference with the Glass is that you're more likely to be aware it's a possibility. I get why that's going to illicit an emotionally sour response. But, rationally, isn't it better than having no clue?

At least not any of the fun ones. What's life if you aren't freaking out and smashing that little spider 50 times with your shoe just to make sure it's really really really dead?

I think this is an excellent time to repost that spider I caught ages ago and still have in my ZAM images.

Check this out. It's a super teeny weeny telescope that can be inserted into a non-functioning eyeball. You have to train your eye and brain to work together to move it around. But it's a cure. Bijou needs one of these.

Only like 3 guys out of 50 on that page are wearing them with prescription glasses, and they don't look like they are seated well on top of them. One guy even put his regular glasses on top of his head rather than wear both.

Apparently there is a prototype version that comes with prescription lenses, but they are permanently attached, not something you can snap onto your existing frames.
