Got a package in the mail today, and opened it without looking at the label, since I was expecting a delivery anyway. Turns out it got put in my mailbox by mistake instead of my neighbor's. It's fertility drugs and a pregnancy test. FUCK.

How should I deal with it?
Burn it:0 (0.0%)
Re-tape and leave it on their doorstep under cover of darkness:6 (26.1%)
Re-tape and leave it with an anonymous apology note attached:11 (47.8%)
Return to sender:1 (4.3%)
Take the pills:5 (21.7%)
Total:23

Might want to leave the poll off the note, though.

Yeah, I'd definitely make sure it gets to them since they paid good money for the stuff. Maybe include a sample of your virile seed in case she wants to pursue more homeopathic methods of getting pregnant.

This thread isn't nearly as interesting as it should be with that title.

Also, just give it back to them. The secrecy makes it creepy. I'm sure they'd rather know it was you that opened it by mistake, rather than some weirdo somewhere in the mail system.

Are fertility drugs really something embarrassing enough to dodge it over? I mean, she's just trying to get pregnant. You didn't get the delivery of her new super-sized horse ***** with realistic shooting action.

[EDIT]

You know what? Let's call that the bonus round. You order one (because I'm assuming you don't have one lying around), and put it in with doctored paperwork. Be as sputtering as possible when you return the box.

Re-tape the box and add the note saying you're sorry for opening it on reflex, then add a little P.S. on the bottom of the note letting her know you be glad to provide assistance if needed.

At least this way you can get the message across without following Joph's idea to commit mail tampering.

Considering the contents of the box, it seems that someone else is having a package problem.

There, got it out of my system.

Wait, wait, wait. We're missing something critical here:

Is the neighbor-lady hot? Or at least reasonably decent-looking? Coz using the opportunity of handing over sensitive packages with an offer of your own package to the neighborhood slob might not end so well.

Forget a note, just put a picture of Buddy Christ in there, tape it up, and anonymously return it.
