I've not been a fan of Greenpeace for a long while now. Seeing them in action previously left a fairly bitter taste in my mouth, with actions I really could only describe as immature and childish. So part of me is glad to see the Russians stick it to them, I don't really have much sympathy. On the other hand it's not like they were ever really a threat to the oil thingy; more than a little bit of over-reaction there.
I'm still trying to figure out why Greenpeace did this in the first place, it's not like the Russians are known for their tolerance of fringe groups like this. I mean, for as harsh as it could end up being, it's not a wholly unexpected result.
Or do the Russians find a nice middle ground here?
