There's a new watch hitting the internet shelves called the Tikker. Enter a few personal characteristics and the Tikker will calculate, keep track, and visually display how much time you have left to be alive.

Various studies suggest that constantly staring your mortality in the face can have different effects - some agreeable some not so agreeable. Apparently people may become motivated, kinder, more productive and therefore more satisfied with their existence. They may also become Xenophobic. Blog discussion HERE.

If you were given a Tikker as a gift - would you wear it?

Didn't they have a free website that did this like 15 years ago or something? You know back in the age of Napster and dancing hamsters.

I'd wear it, but put in the personal characteristics of someone I don't like. It'd make me a kinder gentler person. Smiley: nod

For $1,000 you could get it in yellow.

Do you get a refund should you die before the clock finishes counting down? Or if it does finish and you're still alive? Is there a margin of error? Can I get it in a Flava Flav size?

I'm afraid I'd put it on and the countdown would only give me a couple days at most.

It is pretty ugly. I suppose you could get an alternate watch band for it though.

Sure, one that ticks off your life expectancy and fits on your wrist - oh, and looks stylish.

Both are made with swatch watches. H.R. Giger is Swiss.

...and are considerably less intimidating in the original lime green, neon orange and hot pink colors.

On the plus side, you could totally switch out your torture straps to match your outfit.

He has also made furniture out of the watches and he's made furniture out of bones. The man has done much more interesting things than just design the alien from alien vs predator.

I had assumed that everyone involved in Alien vs. Predator had committed ritual suicide or something.

Not quite. H.R. Giger is pretty old ow though, not as olde as Nobby but still old.

Edit: the bone chair is pretty badass. The original mold was made with real human bones I think, although if you want one now I think you have to put down something past the $10,000 mark.
