I'm praying that the ACA has saved my oldest daughter's life.

She hasn't been able to find a full time job and the only health insurance she could get through the state only cover basic check ups, so things like the ovarian cyst and a mole on her leg had to wait until this January when the ACA change her health insurance into Medicaid. The cyst still is waiting for her last doctor to send her files to the clinic where she is now being seen, but they got her an appointment to see a dermatologist and found that the mole had stage 2 cancer cells. The oncologist is set up to do surgery once they schedule her in. We expect this to be very soon, has I find that with so many teaching and major hospitals in Baltimore, they are quick to fit serious health issues in.

Still Ruth has a ton of medical bills from when she last has hospitalized due to her depression, so she hoping her disability goes through to pay it off. Still now she can get treated for skin cancer and not worry about bills piling up. Everything will be paid for and medicines only have a small co-pay.

I still rather Obama had push for Single Payer. But compared to what American health Care was without ACA, I'm very thankful for my family's health care coverage that ACA has made affordable for the first time.

Her sister is waiting to see a dermatologist this April, as she is a even higher risk for skin cancer, and has 2 suspicious moles.

[Republican] Why don't you thank ME instead since my money is being stolen by Obama to pay for your lazy daughter's health coverage! [/Republican]

Here's praying for a swift recovery for your daughter and that the financial aspect gets to remain secondary to the health aspects.

Also best wishes to your daughter Elne, hopefully they caught it soon enough that it'll be easy to get rid of.

I can't imagine how tough it is as a mother to worry about the health of your children. I know my mother has a hard time with my health, even though I'm long adult and taking care of myself. The very best of health recovery to your daughters.

Hope all is well. Medical bills for a serious condition can be devastating, glad help is available.

It's great that your daughter is getting the treatment she needs. I hope all is well post procedure.

On a side note, the rules changed up here in Ontario. Family doctors are now paid a sum per patient and are docked every time a patient uses an urgent care/walk in facility.

This is absolutely fantastic. As they were paid per visit you generally had to go see the doctor to get a prescription re-filled once your repeats ran out. I saw my doctor in the walk-in clinic the other day (fluke, I can never get a hold of my doctor as he keeps odd office hours and has no voicemail and couldn't get an appointment before meds ran out) I now have his email address, and can get scripts refilled via email without even having to call lol. I'm also being sent for some bloodwork etc to make sure everything is on track so I don't have to go to the walk in.

Doctors here now have a vested interest in making our healthcare as efficient and preventative as possible.

That was the #1 gripe about Canadian healthcare. Glad to hear you guys are working on fixing your problems, too.

ACA sign-ups hit the 6 million revised goal earlier this month, and rumor mill has it another half a million people tried to sign up on the federal exchange over the weekend. Never underestimate the number of Americans willing to procrastinate.

Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

See this is what happens when you ban guns, then only the homeless have them, and they force you to toss salad!
