Indie devs and bloggers band together to try to shut down a game's production. TB isn't cool with that.

My feelings on the game can be summed up with a quote from a reply to one of those tweets. "The game's just a grey, humorless Postal. It's been done before and really is no big deal." Also, meh.

That last Tweet sums it up. Over-the-top nonsense to make a shitty game get some attention. Which has worked like a charm seeing as how I've seen a dozen stories/threads about this game rather than seeing it in a Bundle Stars bundle a year from now with ten other crap games for $3.99 and passing on it because it's not a Steam key.

Yeah, their marketing department will probably get a bonus on this one.

Speaking of game controversy...Press F to pay respects.

To be fair, part of the formatting may have been lost in archiving. Edit: Nope. That's how they had it.

Hatred petition writer backpedals: It's not the game that's racist and misogynist. It's the trailer. Also, the CEO of Destructive Creations responds to petition:
Petition Guy wrote:
“I’ve been discussing this game in a lot of places, and one of them was on an Unreal Developers group on linkedin which Marcin, the technical artist from Destructive Creations, participated. I realize that I stated the game was racist and sexist, however after extensive discussion, I see that the context of my allegations was a little mixed up. What I meant was that the game itself may not be sexist or racist, but the trailer was. I can’t speak for the developers, however I can say that they’re choice of NPC’s in the trailer that were shown in the close-up executions were mostly people of colour and women. That, to me, makes it look like the developer thinks that killing these types of people fuels the hatred for you and the player character, which is wrong.

Quote:
Jarosław Zieliński, the CEO of the Polish based developer commented on the petition, stating quite simply:

“We don’t care. :)”
I'll admit it. I'm mildly amused.

Maybe they should pair up with the anti-violence in video game people, you know some kind of unholy alliance. Then maybe they'd have enough power to do something? Part of me does what to ask something like: there's a trailer with close up shots of people executing other people and your concern is there's too many black guys? Smiley: dubious

Or you could have the flip side, only put a bunch of white guys in there and have someone scream about unequal representation. That could be fun too. In the end they were probably screwed either way. Violence, women, minorities... you could hire a whole legion of high-paid PR advisers and you'd still step on a lot of toes regardless.

I suppose the IDGAF smiley is pretty much assumed at this point. Smiley: rolleyes

I'm reminded of Sarkeesian's "criticism" of Watch Dogs that you might see a guy about to rough up his girlfriend so this obviously means that women are being exploited as objects of abuse in the game.

And, of course, the fact that the guy/girlfriend scenario is one of about 15-20 different street crimes you might see (most of which are male on male) was quietly left unsaid.

If anything they should get credit for their insistence that domestic violence is bad.

Isn't that one of the major problems behind the whole GG thing? They pick and choose a small part that fits in their viewpoint, and ignore the criticism pointing out that it is a tiny portion of the game.

Ahh, you see, the game design closely follows a greek tragedy.. everybody dies. We can't have those ancient, pagan standards influencing our easily corruptible youth.

I hesitate to link this because it's talking about a **** star and there's a lot of potential to go seriously NSFW, but...Apparently GG has a friend in the **** industry. (Edit: Link went 404. I saved it and added it to a photobucket. Here you go. ) And she's going to be speaking with Milo on Radio Nero, if I'm understanding one of those posts correctly.

Apologies for that. I saved the image and posted it to Photobucket. New link added to earlier post. For the lazy, here it is again. Again, NSFW.

Yeah, I coulda been less lazy and picked a better company for that jab, but I had some online trainings I needed to do. I mostly just wanted to link the comic. And... back to work.

I had enough blue coins (plus a 20% off coupon) to pick up Injustice from Gamersgate for free yesterday. I assume it has me keeping feminists down with my white male power or something.

Or Superman beating up Wonder Woman which is pretty much the same thing.

Well, thanks to the New52 reboot, Wonder Woman is now Italian apparently. So she can just take off her jewelery and decimate Supes.

Is Nick Denton of Gawker trying to astroturf GG? I don't know how much I believe it, but if he is, he's going to find it one hell of a grind trying to focus on destroying the "leaders of Gamergate".

If one head is cut off, two more will simply take its place. Obviously, we'll have to rethink that strategy later.
