I just need your "little teeny" troll to grow up and act more so I can hit 10k before this site is officially dead.

I guess I'm left wondering how and even why you'd test faith. Faith is not subject to proof; faith is the antithesis of proof. In fact you could argue that proof would destroy faith, as once proof exists faith is no longer required or even possible.

That's because you're solely thinking of "faith" in the sense of "belief in the existence of God : strong religious feelings or beliefs" and not the definition of "strong belief or trust in someone or something". The latter is not in any way obliged to be connected with religion, but is as equally strong (or weak) as the former.

I see, yes. I was thinking of the word as it's actually used.

You mean phrases like "you don't have faith in me"? or "have faith in me!" or "I have faith in your abilities"?

GTFOWTBS!

The word "faith" is commonly used in both ways, you just approached this conversation wrongly.

Edit: Faith is often synonymously used for confidence.

Then I'll rephrase: I was using the word as it was first used in this thread.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with the way it was being used in the text that you responded to. That should have been evident when it didn't make sense to you.

Edit: Furthermore, I had already previously made the distinction for clarification.

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

I knew my 'hands off'' style of proselytising would pay off one of these days.

Now, how many extra dicks do you want?

Wait, I should have said 'now, let's cut off your hands'.

That would've been much better, fuck.

This means that anyone you know is an atheist probably has voiced an opinion that contradicts religion (which to religious people tends to mean "push their beliefs") in your presence.

I'm not sure what 'beliefs' is supposed to mean in this context. Not pretending that it's equally plausible that we lack a complete understanding of the universe or that, alternately, a magic invisible guy who knows everything decided how it works and told a few people a really long time ago isn't really a matter of "belief." Those aren't equally likely positions that both deserve respect. One is comically wrong and should be openly ridiculed and one is the basis for all of human progress since we gained the ability to think.

I'm sure that's what you believe.

See what I did there?
