Don't forget the animal rights videos! Apparently she doesn't think humans are animals though, so it's okay to shoot them. Smiley: rolleyes

Maybe she's a creationist.

Edit: Well, was. She killed herself at the end of the shooting.

Believe so. One of those minor monotheistic siblings to the Muslim/Christian/Jewish branch, IIRC. But don't quote me on that, as that's just scraped from my memory of reading random internet trash.

The Interwebs is definitely having a good time with this woman's youtube videos and persona. Doing my daily bing searches with the news clicks, and of course her name is the top search. And the video results under her name are tons of remixes and various impersonations.

That disconnect is always amusing. "I'll kill you because I believe killing is wrong!"

Yeah. Right up there with "bomb the abortion clinic because every life is sacred" BS.

This is all reminding me of the would-be RW pundit and the candidate for Lt. Gov. of Idaho, both of whom have stated that the death penalty should apply to women who have abortions. Hooray for progress!

I finally finished my Audiobook collection for The Dark Tower series on Audible. Amazon gave me another free two credit trial membership (which I'll likely cancel yet again before renewing at 15$). But I was only 1 book (a side book even) left so I have 1 free book credit.

Seems they'll give you free books every 6-12 months.

Now I want to find a nice long book (15+ hours) to spend my credits on. Something Sci-Fi / Fantasy. Guess I could do Ready Player One. Then I can be one of the "Oh, it's not as good as the book" people when I finally see the movie.

Edit:
I just checked it on Audible. Ready Player One is read by Wil Wheaton... I think that collection of Drizzt stories had one read by him, and I'm very certain that I really enjoyed his Narration (a lot more that Felicia Days', if I am remembering right). So That is pushing me toward spending the free credit on that book.

I "read" Ready Player One via audiobook. I don't have any particular fondness for Wheaton (nothing against him either) but he did a good job narrating it.

Speaking of audiobooks, I've been working my way through American Gods day by day during my commute. Unlike most books I've listened to, this one has a full cast like a radio play versus just one guy reading it. Afterward, I can watch the Starz TV series and say it wasn't as good as the book.

The American Gods book was on my list of potentials. There were two versions. Standard narration and the full cast version.

It was a choice between American Gods, Magicians, or Ready Player One. I had already watched American Gods and Magicians. I'm sure they are plenty different enough to be enjoyable though.

Ugh. I've always wanted to try Audible, considering I spend a *lot* of time driving around for work, but I'm addicted to my NPR and news. Though I am a big fan of Neil Gaiman.

The banality has crippled my ability to snark appropriately. It's like taking a big whiff of a corpse flower and then sipping an elegant chablis.

I despair. I begin to believe Mr. Winky was right about them, after all.

Well, about 9 hours into the 15 hour book for Ready Player One. Enjoyed it so far. Will be curious to see how much of it translates over to the movie. I'll have to watch it next week or the week after.

That link didn't seem to work for me, but this one does:
https://www.audible.com/pd/Sci-Fi-Fantasy/The-Reality-Dysfunction-Audiobook/B01DAU1F00

Description sounds like Halo, Forerunners, and the Flood (not in a negative way, I only played Halo 1 and 2, and really enjoyed the cliff hanger ending of 2... never started 3 and beyond). If I had another credit, 41 hour book would definitely be a good time/cost value.

My sole RPO audiobook gripe was listening to the scoreboards being read. Ugh. On the other hand, I assume the trivia blasts work better when listened to than when seeing it all laid out on paper.

I found the early-on "lists" of things that used to be things to be more annoying that the scoreboards. "Here's a list of movies" "Here's a list of music" "Here's a list of games". (Though, the dozen sixxer names being listed off was like listening to someone read off the digits of Pi).

And I since I only listened to it, and didn't see it written. Was Wil Wheaton just prouncing "Poser" all... French-like. Or is it actually written out as "Possiour" or something dumb like that in the book?

Unfortunately the hotel I'm in is only about 5 minutes away from the factory I'm working at. So I don't have much of a commute to listen to the rest until I drive home on Tuesday. Then it will be 9+ hours. Finish off RPO and go onto the one book I have left in Dark Tower series. A Wind through the Keyhole.

Make Love, The Bruce Campbell Way is an amusing listen. I mean, it's basically a relationship self-help book disguised as a ... fictional non-fiction biography I guess. Which reminds me, he has a new book I need to check out at some point.

Does he narrate? I'm always annoyed by autobiographical works where the writer doesn't narrate, especially if they're someone involved in the performing arts. You've read 1,000 scripts for television but you can't read your own book?

The narration for Metro 2033 is excellent. The story itself wavers between A-grade material and C-grade material depending on how meandering Glukhovsky is being at the moment but Rupert Degas does a top notch job of reading it.

That annoys me, too. I don't know if you could call it a full cast as you can easily tell a few people are recycled, but it's mostly Bruce doing the reading. It really sounds more like a radio play than just some people reading a book. Though admittedly I don't listen to too many audiobooks in the first place so that might just be the norm. I know Pride & Prejudice & Zombies was a bit of a mediocre listen.

That's the one. It's a full on space opera with a good ground game. Not sure I'd compare it to Halo but hard to explain without spoilers. No idea about Forerunners and the flood.

I was just going by the paragraph description about humans expanding throughout the galaxy, and stumbling upon something "bad" (or, assumed bad, by the description given).

And my 15 year old recollection of Halo 1 and 2, Humans uncovered the Flood (alien race) unintentionally releasing them to rampage across the universe again. Flood = Zerg, basically. Starcraft, Halo, all share similar elements. Though some details may be different, the idea that Humanity mistakenly uncovers or comes into contact with something that others who had been there before us would have preferred stayed hidden or left alone.
