Hwe went to the zoo and I gave my daughter five and told her to feed the horsies and she interpreted as shove the bill down the tiny horse's throat and not buy some feed.
We did something similar with fish at the hatchery. However we were able to successfully purchase the fish food, and the kids had a good time throwing it
at the fish. Given the number of quarters in the water though it seems your daughter isn't the only one who's looking to cut out the middleman.
Other than that we tried to find a balance between frantic cleaning and doing nothing. As the kids start school on Thursday, and I go back on Friday, so time for housework and rest are slated to be in short supply in the coming months.
