"mostly" like Newt in Aliens? I'm glad that awful kid died.
Would be awesome if Hicks and Newt were in it.
That would be interesting, to say the least. I remember a ton of people being really really pissed off when they were unceremoniously killed off in Alien3. At the time, there was a ton of interest in the alien and predator stories, and there was a comic book series that prominently featured those two characters participating in an ongoing battle against both alien species taking place years after the second film (so Newt was an adult, or at least a reasonably old teen IIRC). Which was pretty much destroyed when the third film came out. Much wailing was heard among the geek crowd.

Not sure Blomkamp's word can be at all a given though since Ridley Scott seems determined to run this series into the stupid ground, starting with the awful Prometheus. If there's a fight for the future/soul of Aliens, I sure hope Blomkamp wins and Scott loses, but that's not looking likely. Some great directors need to stfu already if their movies suck. But the current studio means Ridley's ****** Prometheus ****** trilogy will happen and Blomkamp's much better sequel (even if it features robots, his fetish) won't. Mostly.
The sad part is that Prometheus could have been a great film. If they'd just stuck to the darn story instead of doing what film writers seem to always be pressured to do and introduce "something new and different". Could have been a great way to incorporate a whole bunch of different elements in that story universe. But instead, you kinda had to ignore whole parts of it to make the pieces fit. I think it was made more awful precisely because it was soooo close to being really good. But then yanked it away. Sigh...

Alien v. Predator and Predators were both better movies than ******* awful Prometheus. Retire already, Ridley Scott, you now hack.
Yeah. Even with the horrible plot holes in the first Alien vs Predator film, it was still really good. I mean, it shouldn't be. But for some reason, if I see it on, I'll stop and watch the darn thing. It's just... fun. It sticks to action, with a smattering of back story and information, but without stepping on itself (yup. Looking at you Prometheus). Sometimes, it's much better to leave the rationale for the bad guy's actions unsaid, or vague, instead of filling in detail that's just plain stupid. Actually, it's always better. Fans manage to come up with far far better theories about the what and whys than the filmmakers ever seem to be capable of. It's almost like they go out of their way to find the most idiotic and unsatisfying route whenever possible. Which is sad.
