President Okerma has called up the the Kerbinational Space Station to congratulate them on the successful deployment of the final K6 solar array! The atmosphere was warm as he lauded the Kerbinaughts for supporting his renewable energy platform by deciding to use solar panels... in spaaaace!

I had to postpone completion of my 2009 STS-119 mission.. Apparently when I mounted the huge P6 Truss into the Shuttle payload bay.. I tried to add a small motor to help move the thing to install into the station... Unfortunately. I failed to make other proper adjustments and after successful launch, orbiting, and docking... (and saving the game to that point..) I discovered when I detached the huge P6 truss from the shuttle's bay it would always slam against the other side and shatter the folded up solar panel Kessler syndroming GPU lagging nightmare...

So my options were to just undock and land and try again... something which I'd never done in 40 some years of space missions.. (except for 1 Mir-Shuttle mission.. but all I didn't do was dock.. I at least rendevoused... )...or try to use debug this is like 125 shuttle missions of (some debug cheating) but no total in-game do-overs...
So for like a month I'd try to play.. try to adjust some debug setting.. each time resulting in memory lagging explosion that would make me simply EndTask and try again in a week..
NOW FINALLY! I found the correct combination of debug cheats to make it work and now STS-119 can finally land and I can proceed into present day....

Next big thing I'm looking forward to is designing Mars Curiosity rover.... but next slightly interesting things up I have are the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and the return to Earth of the Japanese Hayabusa spacecraft.. which pretty much landed on an asteroid and took samples and returned to Earth!

So.. now I've abandoned Battletech (temporarily) after discovering that MECHWARRIOR ONLINE has been out for YEARS (same universe).... I'd been looking for a good FPS.. but I started detesting the way the FPS franchises have been operating... I tried PUBG but it just sucks.. I have given up on finding a good FPS... BUt this is FREE... and it's awesome.

Forget just a dude with a rifle..
You are sitting in your cockpit (where you can get hula girls, scented candles, et al) with any array of customization of lasers, guns, canons, missles, sensors, probes, armor and engine types....
Totally blows any standard "guy with a gun" FPS away.... IMO.

You should all download it right now.

Battletech was my second paper and pencil RPG.

Having GMd fantasy for 15+ years.... I can't imagine how one actually RPGs Battletech... It seems more like mere tactical Warhammer type stuff... But how much actual RPing is actually done in a Battletech session? Is it pretty much just trash-talking each other through coms as you're fighting? or is there a large part of the session building up to a main battle?
freaking nerds

There was (is?) a Robotech RPG that was traditional roleplaying. Battletech was, as I recall, more straight wargaming rules.

My Battletech story was running a game and one player jumped on top of a reinforced structure at one point and ambushed another. The other player later jumped on top of a two story building... that was wood. He fell through the roof and floor and into the basement, damaging his legs. The other player then collapsed the rest of the building on top of him and spent a few minutes just firing rockets into the rubble. The defeated guy refused to ever play again.

That's ridiculous. I'd have used laser weapons and not have to spend money on reload costs.
