Technically a returning player, however i've been away long enough that it's safe to call me New.
Been running around the Bastok area questing and starting my rank missions. The place just seems desolate, have seen all of 3 or 4 other ppl and they are always anon and i assume afk.

Just looking for a group of ppl to group with or at least chat with while playing.

Can find me in game on the char Solaro. Or leave your name here and i'll try to find you.
Thanks

It isn't to bad, Alot of things have changed which made some of the older worries irrelevant. I will say however that starting fresh from Zero Gil is rough. I decided to make BRD my main since it seems interesting. I started with mnk for Sub quest, then took War to 30 for unlocking before i had a clue what i really wanted to be. now I'm lvling mage subs and can't afford basic scrolls for whm and blm up to 20 even, much less gear. Still using starter gear on mages.

BUT, the game is still keeping me interested. Naturally most ppl playing are higher lvl, but with Book burns there has yet to be a time when i couldn't do any leveling due to lack of players yet.

Wow, things really have changed. When I last played this game about two years ago, there had been YEARS of constant things that were sure to set you some gil if you were in a bind. Off the top of my head...

You could farm Beehive chips in N. Gustaberg or S. Gustaberg, then put them on the Bastok AH to make money off some Alchemists. Now I hear they've tied all the AH's together since I left, so if that's true, it's even easier.

I remember that you could go into ANY inn and buy waters dirt cheap. You could then take all the dark crystals you have, and some tea things you bought in Windy, and go to The K. Highlands for some easy gil. You farmed sheep, turning the skins into leather that sold remarkably quick on the Sandy AH. You could also farm bees in the Highlands while running around killing sheep.

Anyhow, you used to be able to keep yourself afloat just fine, all you needed to do was look up some farming tips on this site, or even google.
