Yeah, I'm crossposting this from =10, but I figure here it might actually serve some purpose. Now all EIGHT of you who actually come to this forum (and presumably reside on the Lakshruda server) can share your trials with the world, and -- who knows -- maybe group up to make some of them a little less of a pain!

Here's all that I'm working on... bolded means that it's my priority at the moment, and if you see me online, chances are I'll either be working on that or wanting to:

Daggers:
1) Parazonium+1(OA2-3) - Trial 13: 500x amorph kills
2) Kila+1(Evasion) - Trial 1893: 300x plantoid kills + wind day/weather
3) Kila+1(Evasion) - Trial 1893: 300x plantoid kills + wind day/weather

6) Vayu's staff(Wind accuracy) - (not started yet)
7) Indra's staff(Thunder potency) - (not started yet)
8) Varuna's staff(Ice potency) - (not started yet)

Swords:
1) Khanda+1(OA2-3) - Trial 1206: 450x wamoura kills
2) Shamshir+1(Accuracy) - Trial 164: 50x leech kills + any weather

Great Swords:
2) Prestelame(OA2-3) - Trial 227: 500x beast kills

Ha, Fyn, we teamed up the other day at Hippogryphs. It was like 4am for me by the time Kotan-kor Kamuy popped. Dealing with that thing completely knocked me out. :p

Still trying to find the motivation to continue with that Hippogryph trial for the DA dagger... Might continue with it at some point. Right now I'm working on the STR dagger. Currently about 40-odd beasts to go before I have to contend with 200 flans on firesday/weather. Really looking forward to that... >>;

I'm still considering getting a scythe for my DRK. I'm leaning towards the DEX scythe purely because I cannot bear to camp NMs for the Ultimatum. Of course, the OAT scythe is all kinds of sexy, but I would prefer to get the dagger for my DNC. >>;

Also, Teiwaz with Cure Potency +15% is all kinds of sexy. Completed that last week.

I started working on the Sword and got past the first NM, and kinda let it die. I am still not surewhat route I want to take with it. Some of the soul sabers look neat, and of course the OAT looks nice, but i dont really want to have to buy/or compete to get 10 of rutherans nails for the last part of that for an item I find as a sidegrade.

For RDM? Yeah, Joy/Justice are better, I thought. It does have more DMG, but people tend to overlook the also higher delay (and maybe slightly lower DA rate)

The only real reason to get that sword would be for BLU, or if you really really hated to remember to farm/equip virtue stones. Even if you didn't have one of the other swords, they take less effort to get than Antea does.

That "thing" popped again and aggroed me when I was down to 6 kills remaining. What a ****.

Yeah, Joy/Justice blows it out of the water. 40% DA proc on the Magian weapons, compared to 55% from Justice. Justice can be obtained for free if you know someone in a consistent Sea linkshell. In the time that you would spend getting the Antea, you could farm up enough Virtue Stones to last for life.

holy freak 15%. WHM with potency* + certain Augmented gear, a ring, a neck an earing a boby piece and this staff will have nearly (or over +50% potency) thats like 1500 HP cur V's, or dare I say it, 3K cure V's with DS. My god i love WHM's.

15% Teiwaz + 12% Aristocrat's + 5% Roundel Earring + 3% Selenian Cap + 5% Tatsumaki Sitagoromo + 3% Fylgja Torque =
43% Cure Potency in normal situations. Toss in a Medicine Ring and a convert set to trigger it's latent you have 58%.

Now, if you go into unrealistic situations, you can push it even higher. Obtain and use a charge of Healing Feather for another 15% and bring your total to 73% Beseiged started?! Toss on your Volunteer's Khud instead of Selenian Cap for a total of 75%. Oh, you're WHM/NIN for the lolz? Dual Weild your Dweomer Maul (augmented with 6% of course) and Templar Mace for 16% in hand slots (and a nice chunk of MND) for a total of 76% Cure Potency. Beseiged just ended and it's time to do an Assault run. Throw the Selenian Cap back on and a Lambda Sash for 77%. You used all your tags and now you're heading to Upper Delkfutt's... and it's Lightsday with Double Light weather! Take off the Lambda Sash, throw on your Korin Obi for 35% (which I think is calculated after potency gear?), the absolute highest possible at this time, even though that situation isn't at all realistic.

Now, I'm not sure how much MND one could pack on with all that potency gear. I'm going to guess around 120-ish, and maybe around 80 VIT. If I'm doing my math right, that would put Cure V at around 1630 without Divine Seal. Crazy stuff.

Edit: I just happened to need WHM for Assaults and checked gear. 120 MND and 80 VIT isn't realistic, but you get the point.

Yeah I do like the concept of playing WHM. It's unfortunate that I've dumbed down my WHM gear recently.

The absolute plethora of gear WHM has for every situation is amazing. Haste sets, potency sets, conserve sets... it's a fun job to tweak and maximize, since there are so many ways to squeeze just a bit more efficiency into every action you take.

Rerail.

I completed my Cure Potency Teiwaz last week. Samhain and I did the last few Trials together. I don't have any current plans for any more Magian weapons... until I see conclusive evidence on the OAT Gun. If I see some numbers that prove the TP gain outweighs the blatent benefits of Martial Gun, I'll start work on the Magian one.

I'm reconsidering making the Cure potency +15% staff, now debating the dark acc+3 staff to see how much of an improvement it is over Pluto's. I don't really have the hard-on for Cure potency that other healers do, because I tend to overcure as it is (particularly so if I'm not the only healer present, but at least in those cases it's not entirely my fault)

I'm still at the point where I can change my mind about what I make, but eh...

By the way, Grauberg kinda sucks for that first staff trial (100 saplings/treants in any weather), unless possibly if you have a sync. The saplings in Grauberg are Too Weak to 75, meaning you have to do a considerable amount of running around to find the treants, and you're probably bound to stumble over chigoes while you're doing so. Pain in the ***. I would just stick with Bhaflau Thickets (you're probably more likely to find people there to team up with, as well). Be sure to check the weather guy.

Weather in Grauberg is 100000x more consistant than the Thickets, and I didn't have an issue with the Treants there at all. I did the entire Trail in Grauberg as RDM, all in one afternoon.

I spent more time in Grauberg looking for treants and fending off chigoes than I was actually fighting treants. If I could have also fought the saplings too that would have been another story and I wouldn't have needed to wander QUITE so much, but even then the mobs in that area are kinda spread far apart, which is no good when you're working on a limited timeframe.

At least in Thickets I am never hurting to find a mob, largely due in part to the fact I can fight saplings too, and that a whole bunch of both of them are packed in one space. There's loads of weather there too (I have yet to see a forecast where the current next 3 days are all "sunny", as opposed to Kreutzet camping in Cape Teriggan where I've regularly seen such forecasts ~.~), and even if you suspect there might not be weather, there is always a weather checker you can use to be relatively sure.

I'll give you the chigoe thing, but I never had issues finding Treants. 15 second walk from one to the other, and I was cycling about 6 spawns. Once you learn where the chigoes are you can easily avoid them.

Try the G-11 H-11 area if you decide to give it another shot, and if that's not where you were before (I don't remember any saplings at all, so you must have been somewhere else). Probably 8-12 spawns there, more than enough to kill before repops.

Besides... in Grauberg, they're called Knotty Treants. I mean, how awesome is that?

It still makes me giggle. Smiley: lol

I think I was farther east than I was supposed to be, I guess. I just remember reading "south of the campaign fort" which meant I was mostly hanging around the FNM spawn location...

Chew are you sure you don't have a magian weaspon augmented with "Occasionally posts twice" on it?

Also, I started a Blue Mage sword to replace save me from having to get a Koggelmander. I gotta say killing 100 leeches in god awful ************************ isn't exactly appealing.

Getting the Antea done doesn't really take that much time. The longest part is the Ruthven's nails, but if you're in a shell that does VNMs regularly, you're already killing Ruthven anyway.

But yeah, I'm getting it for BLU as it's the only real job worth using it on.

What are the spiders for? (In other words, do you need a weather effect, and if so which one?)

For spiders you need Fire, Wind, Lightning, or Light weather. Boyahda has lightning.
Maybe I should drag a friend up to sky for some duo action? Dunno.

Unfortunately, yes Boyahda is the best choice for spiders. It's Autumn in-game today, which means there's virtually no chance of water weather in the Tree, which gives you a much better chance for Thunder.

Evasion daggers complete! Time to build an actual proper evasion set.

Oh, and apparently the 2nd trial for the Light-based staves also needs those 100 spiders in Light-based weathers; fancy that. Weather checker NPCs about to become my new best friends.
