Yeah. You'd think they could give us at least an approximate release date by now.

Wait, I can watch these online from Nickelodeon? AWESOME. Figured I'd need to pirate them, because I don't have cable.

And I thought it did have a release date. Yup, it does.

Saturday, April 14, 11 AM.

I just watched 1 & 2. Cool good stuff.
My thoughts:
-The sport that is made up out of the 3 big bending schools is cool ( because as of right now, there are only 4 Air benders, with Tenzen being the master and his children being his students)
-Tenzen's son..yea I think he is going to make a nice comic relief character.

It looks to be a good series. The only question is how many seasons (or books as they are using again) because Korra already knows and has master 3 of the 4 bending styles (in a physical form, but the new Sport looks to help teach her more).

When Korra and Tenzen were sitting in the temple, there were maybe half a dozen young men dressed in air bender robes. I wonder if they were air bending students as well, or just people learning the ways of the monks.

Well, I imagine she'll be learning metalbending as well. And you never know if they introduce energybending again (which you can figure would be difficult for her to learn. Aang was more talented at the spritual stuff than Korra is).

Plus, remember that the main opponent this time around is a group of non-benders. In order to make them a believable threat, they'll likely have come up with some decent anti-bending techniques, so Korra may need to train with weapons, too.

And the whole plot is taking part in Republic City, so there aren't really safe havens anymore. Aang generally learned his bending arts when in a safe harbor. The air temple is relatively safe, I suppose, but I suspect we won't see her mastering air-bending any time soon; not when she keeps interrupting her training to go do something in the city.

Y'never know.

The previews showed them using many technology based weapons. Gloves and batons using electricity.

I'm wondering if the Energybending is what the main opponent group actually uses. In the 1st 2min intro video one looks to have a glowing hand. Looked like it was similar to what Aang learned.

I wondered that too. Were all the Air Nomads actual Air benders? I mean take his (Tenzen's) wife. She is clearly not a bender, but would seem to be following the nomad/monk way of life (or whatever life style Aang was able to pass along).

So far it looks to be two season of 13 episodes each.

It was also mentioned that Aang found a small colony of flying bison after the war, and that the second season will include ring-tailed winged lemurs.

And I think there is definitely something not quite right with Tenzen's son. Maybe he was dropped on his head, and that explains the lumps?

But he is pretty funny, as he mimics Korra "You're a bad teacher daddy!" and storms off throwing debris everywhere. Or gnawing on Tenzen's head. Tenzen's children seem to be heavily inspired by Japanese animation, especially the boy. The two girls kind of remind me of Azula and Ty Lee. Even Tenzen's animation seems different than the other characters. The way his face moves.

The leader of the anti-bender movement seems to have a familiar mannerism. Reminds me of Jet maybe. I'm expecting a relative of Azula may appear as an antagonist, yet I doubt someone from Azula would be anti-bender (unless the leader of the anti-benders is really a bender himself...)

Also, I wonder who ended up getting with Toph.

I'm a bit saddened that Sokka is gone, I think Sokka as an old man would have been pretty good. But I'm sure he has children/grandchildren that have yet to appear.

70 years ago they had steam engines. Not too big of a leap to assume they would improve upon their technologies in that time frame.

True, but compared to the Satomobiles that level of tech shouldn't exist yet. The bikes look like WWII/Post WWII Indian models.

Well first, development and usage of technology is a contrivance to the degree that it makes the show interesting. That's why no one uses guns.

And second, any time you ha e an alternate world there is a different environment technological advances are made in. In a hypothetical world where people have the magic power to teleport, travel technology and every related development would be highly unnecessary. So it wouldn't be weird for them to have color televisions before automobiles. Additionally our own technological advances have come out not just from the nature of our world, but partly random chance, and so there is innate variance.
