Anyone else see this yet?

Over all it was a pretty generic family movie. "Just be yourself and everything will be OK in the end" and other such lessons learned ect. The whole video game theme was really well done though and some of the references and cameos were REALLY funny.

In general I say it's worth seeing, though don't expect anything new or exciting from it. It also probably won't be as funny to a non-gamer.

"She has the most tragic back story ever programmed."

Saw it yesterday, absolutely loved it, though it's safe to say it's only because of all the cameos. The story itself, as said, isn't anything amazing or revolutionary; but seeing all the references to classic and/or arcade games made it worth while.

And I can't be the only one who wanted to play Mario Kart after watching the Sugar Rush areas Smiley: tongue

I was going to watch it anyway and after reading this, I just watched it. It's pretty much all about the cameos and references. As most of the audience were kids, I doubt they got any of those references. There were some adults who laughed at Kano and M. Bison.

Kano in a Disney movie isn't Kano. It's lies! Smiley: mad

Saw the movie today with the kids. For a non gamer it would be cute. For a gamer with gamer sons, we thought it was awesome. I loved the cameos and the inside jokes had me chuckling. Definitely worth seeing.

Saw this this weekend. Loved the references and cameos, and though the story was generic it was still well executed. Voice acting was really good I thought. Overall really enjoyed it.

That AKB48 song hit the spot. I'm glad cameos weren't used too heavily, when the hub scene first appeared it was my instinct to attempt to identify as many characters as possible, and I found it very distracting.

I also appreciated that the cameos were minimal, but what I did not like was that all the advertising revolved around these cameos. It kind of pissed me off that they tried to trick people into seeing it for that without showing it as its own movie. The quality of the movie made up for it however. And it did work.

Felix and Calhoun have a child. He'd be good with guns and good at fixing things. You now realize this is the TF2 engineer. You now realise he has a golden wrench just like his dad has a golden hammer.

Although you have a valid point, that is common among most movies. It worked though, because I probably wouldn't have seen it without the cameo preview.
