Yeah. I had a feeling (haha. I kill me!), that was intentional. Just seemed too wrong to be a mistake. Still kinda strange even then though.

The last one. Was that 50.00 or 5,000? I imagine it was the second, and it was a joke about the cost and time it took to finally come to fruition.

Heh. It's been a long time since this morning. Can relate. Das good.

$5,000 was the Kickstarter pledge that bought her the cameo (ha-ha) which took two years to appear, yes. Order of the Stickception.

But... What does it all mean? It's just all so darn cryptic!

In RPG parlance, we call this "stretching"

At least something is sorta happening. Durkon forgot his accent in front of Roy when he said "But not for me" rather than "But na fer me" or something like that. He also dropped it when he thought he was alone with the Plane of Earth dude but that's less telling than him forgetting it around Roy since the PoE guy knows he's a representative of Hel.

Anyway, maybe something will happen someday.

Which means that Belkor now knows that Durkon isn't really himself, and is a worshiper of a goddess (so not Thor, unless he's wearing drag or something), and if he was paying attention, the high priest of said goddess. Of course, knowing Belkor, his actions with this information will be more hilarious than useful, but that's just part of his charm. I'm sure they'll all stumble into a solution presently.

The interesting side bit to this is that Darkon is now protected from attack just like any of the other delegates. So they can't take any action against him (yet). Also potentially throws a monkey wrench into the whole resurrection plan too. The spirit controlling his body is the recognized high priest of Hel, and I'd assume any attempt to drive it out would be a violation of some kind of rules for the meeting. Not that rules generally stop the OOS, but still.

Of course, this still leaves us wondering what he's doing there in the first place. What fiendish plan might he have in store for them? Yes, I'm sure it's fiendish. I suppose it's possible he's just there to share a great bean dip recipe, but I somehow doubt it.

New comic and things are actually happening!

Re: the above by Gbaji, it sounds as though Durkon isn't actually protected by the Godsmoot as Hel's rep since he wasn't officially invited.

Maybe. Not sure if a formal invitation is required. Or that all the Northern Gods are automatically allowed to send a representative, but that Hel hasn't for some time because she didn't have a high enough level cleric in her religion, not that she's somehow excluded from invitation. I kinda got that the gods are involved in this thing directly, so him simply showing up as her high priest automatically makes him her formal representative and thus protected. Of course, the supposed protection isn't well defined. In the previous comic, they were told that he would be safe from attack because it's neutral territory for all the gods. Given his specific mention that the Creed doesn't actually have a deity to protect him as the reason that Darkon could kill said Creed priest, one could assume that since he does have a deity, he's protected regardless of whether he's a formal representative, or was invited, or whatever. If the protection is enforced by the gods themselves, then I suppose that kinda makes sense. Sorta.

At least Belkar seems to have gotten a bit smarter with his choices here. Running for help does seem like the right choice. Assuming that's what he's doing...

New comic up.

Presumably Belkar somehow survives if only because I can't imagine his death comes after a 15 second fight and being tossed out a window

Wasn't sure at first what was going on there. Looks like Belkar used his protection from evil clasp. Which prevented him from being charmed, but got him tossed out a window. I'm sure he'll be fine though.

Ironically, Durkon couldn't have Dominated him while in dire wolf form anyway.

As Elan would point out, Belkar's death didn't really have the necessary dramatic tension required for a main character's death.
