So I watched the premiere of The Bridge the other night, and like most FX shows, I was impressed with it.
I really liked that it didn't feel too heavy-handed, though any show with a setting dealing heavily with the US/Mexico border is going to have to touch on issues such as racism, drug cartels, and Mexican police corruption. The lead actress did a decent job handling a character with Asperger's (and yes, the original show featured such a character; it's not just a gimmick for American audiences). From what I understand, they have Alex Plank from the site Wrong Planet as a consultant, to help make the portrayal as authentic as possible.
They teased just enough that I'll definitely be tuning in next week. The fact that there's ******* on TV in the summer should help them retain viewers, as well.
