I liked it.

It lacked the originality of the first one, which is common for sequels, and the soundtrack was not quite as good (Adagio in D Minor is a tough one to beat), but I liked it. I like where they're heading with Hit-Girl and Kick-***, and I hope they'll expand on both their stories in the final installment.

Some of the humor in this one was a little too much for me (the vomit and diarrhea inducing riot stick was a bit over the top), but I liked some of the Superbad-esque dialogue in it. I got a good chuckle out of the racial stereotyping that went on when the main villain was putting together his team of supervillains. Genghis Carnage, Mother Russia... Black Death. Yeah.

As for the violence, it's pretty much like the first one, except there are more "zomg feelings" scenes in it. The first one had Big Daddy's death as the major emotional scene. It combined excellent action, emotion and music in one (Adagio in D Minor, man...). This one has a lot of those moments, but without the music or the emotional investment. The worst (or best, depending on how you see it) scene, for me, was probably the one where a guy gets stabbed in the neck and you're forced to listen to him suffocate to death. Pretty brutal scene, although there's not a lot of on-screen blood/gore involved.

I hope the third (and final) movie won't end with a mass cleansing of characters. I know it's supposed to be a realistic superhero movie, but come on, it's also a bit crazy and unrealistic as well. Millar is threatening to just kill them all off. I hope not. I'm not too fond of the weird idea that endings are better if they leave the viewer depressed. Don't know who came up with that idea, but I don't like it.

The third series of books is, so far, pretty meh. Hit Girl is being awesome in it, though. I haven't watched this one yet, though it's on my list of things to eventually see maybe sometime.

I liked the movie a bit more than the first one, mostly because the girl that plays Hit Girl has gotten much better at acting. It helps that the story was a bit better too.

It was pretty good. Not great, but good. Jim Carey's role was neat, albeit over with quickly.
