I read that this TV version of Under the Dome is more closely what King wanted it to be, but it was too long to put into one book. He's going somewhere wtih it, just meandering there the way he does.

Really? He could make The Gunslinger span seven books, but couldn't make two for Under the Dome?

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing he didn't have enough material for a series, but too much for one book. This is just what I read on a S King fan site.

I still maintain that the series ended with Wizard and Glass.

I just wish he hadn't written himself into the books. I still enjoyed the rest of the series, but I'll agree that it peaked with W&G. The graphic novels are also pretty awesome, though I prefer the initial run with Jae Lee's art.

That was my biggest complaint as well. I think I might have liked the last three had that not happened.

SPOOOOOOOOOOON!!!

The much-loved TV version of The Tick was axed by Fox in its first season, after just nine episodes. Now, it looks like the Big Blue Bug of Justice is back! According to People, the show is being revived by Amazon – and Patrick Warburton will star! And original creator Ben Edlund will write and produce! SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Via The Wrap, who received confirmation on the Amazon pilot from an individual with knowledge of the deal:

Quote:
Warburton worked out a deal with Sony Television, who have held the rights since the show's 2001 cancellation, to bring back the beloved character as an Amazon pilot. Amazon's latest batch of pilots are currently available for free viewing on the streaming network. The company has established a tradition of producing its pilots and then offering them for free so viewers can watch and vote on them. Based in part on this feedback, the company then decides which shows to move forward with.

Falling Skies: New aliens. Can't have a new season without a new alien. At least this next one will be the last season.

And during the commercials I noticed that TNT is making a TV series based on the Librarian movie series. Judging by the short clips in the commercials it looks to be an episodic "artifact of the week" show similar to Warehouse 13.

Watched Tyrant recently. I thought it was alright, if a bit heavy-handed.

Also catching up on The Bridge. I really didn't like how they handled the first season, where it seemed like they tacked on extra episodes after the main story arc had been resolved, but this season has been really good so far. Franka Potente is just ******* weird.

I might start on The Strain.

Apparently I really like FX's shows. Smiley: lol
