LoT: Snart sacrificing his hand to save Rolly's life might have meant something if it wasn't just, pardon, handwaved away. Speaking of, the Patrick J Adams from Suits (the kid with the memory and the not being a lawyer shtick) will be showing up in a future episode as a "fun, fan favorite character."

The Returned's showrunner Raelle Tucker has jumped on the Netflix train as an executive producer for the next season of Jessica Jones. Not much beyond that, and I can't really imagine it'll be as good as season one sicne we're down one Timelord charming psychopath that made the first season so great. Reports that Fox is adamantly denying on the New Mutants movie indicated Magik and Wolfsbane have been cast. Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones as the lycanthrope Rahne Sinclair, and Anya Taylor-Joy from The Witch as Illyana Rasputin. Also in the report is the cast will also include Cannonball, Sunspot, and Mirage, with Alexandra Shipp and James McAvoy reprising their roles as Storm and Xavier. Even if the casting is false, those are the characters I'd expect from the movie. Of course it's April 1st so anything today should be taken with maximum skepticism. For instance, Ryan Reynolds said on Twitter that the Deadpool Blu-Ray will be released May 10, and VHS and Laser Disc 19 years ago.

Headquarters of ancient league of super assassins infiltrated by a noisy bank robber, high school jock, and professor.

I don't care for the way they keep dropping names of people yet to be, to the people who will be making them. (BIll Gates, Nyssa).

Edit:
I saw some more images of Dr. Strange. Benedict Cumberbatch looks good in the role, but his face is so recognizable, that it kind of looks strange seeing him dressed up as Dr. Strange. (no pun intended).

I guess we'll see what it looks like after editing. Maybe after this movie his face will become synonymous with the character, like some others have already.

Edit2:

A long sneak peak of the upcoming "Batman: The Killing Joke" animated film.

Maybe, people are already forgetting Vincent Price after all.

Bunnyduck and Chiwetel running through the streets of New York City in full Dr Strange and Baron Mordo costume. Also James Gunn released a picture over his Facebook of a scene that was cut from Guardians of the Galaxy. Makes a nifty wallpaper.

Jessica Henwick from Game of Thrones has been cast as Colleen Wing for the soon to be Netflix Iron Fist series. Hopefully they'll dye her hair red. Kind of necessary.

Sony has registered a handful of domains for the upcoming Spider-Man reboot. SpiderManHomecoming, SpideManComingOfAgeMovie, SpiderManGreatnessAwaits, and SpiderManSuspendedMovie. Homecoming sounds the least dumb, though if I were to put money on anything it'd be they're all fake flags.

SHIELD: Looks like season finale is going to be Lash vs the UnWard.

WB is moving some of their movies around. Wonder Woman is moving up two weeks, probably because she was one of the few elements in BvS that was positively received. Also there was apparently supposed to be another Jungle Book movie October 2017, but that's been moved back a year. WB also added two more unnamed DC based projects to their schedule, though at this time nothing is known about them other than it being presumptuous after BvS meteoric drop.

Jimmy Kimmel will be having a week of Marvel related programming for the Captain America Civil War release, which will also include the first Dr Strange trailer.
article wrote:
The festivities kick off Monday, April 11, when host Jimmy Kimmel welcomes most of Team Cap from "Civil War": Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie and Paul Rudd.

That's followed Tuesday, April 12, with appearances by Benedict Cumberbatch, who will unveil the "Doctor Strange" trailer, and "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." star Clark Gregg.

On Wednesday, April 13, Kimmel will circle around to Team Iron Man with guests Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Emily Van Camp, Chadwick Boseman and Paul Bettany.

The week will conclude Thursday, April 14, with a visit by "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth, who's promoting "The Huntsman: Winter's War."

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs weeknights at 11:30 p.m. on ABC.

I thought that SHIELD episode was great. Almost like a finale.

I didn't watch it the night before, and watched it before I went to work in the morning. I ended up leaving a bit late cause I didn't want to stop the episode to leave for work at my normal time.

Edit:

Arrow: Laurel is dead. Is it going to be Barry, or the LoT cast, who mess with time and bring her back? I can't see them keeping her dead. And I doubt the Lazarus Pit will be involved.

Well, she's supposed to be showing up as her Earth-2 counterpart "Black Siren," so at the very least there's that.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger has been greenlit on ABC's family channel Freeform. It is being described as a "superhero love story," which could be neat. I don't know, though, considering the biggest thing about them is that they're a couple of runaways who are experimented on with heroine probably won't fly on a Family Channel. It's not like I'm expecting Jessica Jones on network / cable tv but this source material isn't exactly Hannah Montana by any stretch of the imagination. Also it was retconned that they were actually mutants so I'm not sure how that's going to play out. Retcon the retcon to their being Inhumans? Is this even going to be connected with the greater universe? I guess time will tell.

LoT: The "Would You Kill Hitler" episode of any time travel show. And as usual, no, they wouldn't.

The review embargo for Captain America ends tonight, a few weeks before the movie officially releases. A pretty good sign of confidence, considering BvS's embargo ended just three days before the world release. And kind of related, Kevin Feige says that some MCU characters will show up in Sony's Spider-Man, like a student exchange program. No real word on which character, but I'm kind of hoping it's the Netflix characters. I'd be stoked if it were Daredevil or Danny & Luke. Street level stuff.

I think the best part of that episode was Jewel Staite. And she wasn't a big part of it.

It was a dull episode. The past few have been. The on/off interactions with Savage don't flow well. They always fail, but somehow just walk away from it relatively unscathed. Savage doesn't seem to be the type to say "Haha, I won. Now I'll stand here as you leave so I can win again another year."

A bit bummed that Flash is the only one of the three that is on hiatus right now. Not sure what's up with that.

Disney is being pretty quick nuking the Captain America clip from the mtv award show, so here's the mtv site with it.
Anthony Russo, about Avengers: Infinity War wrote:
The movies are intended to be a culmination of everything that's happened before in the MCU so you don't want to get into spoilers but I'm a big fan of what ['Guardians of the Galaxy' director] James Gunn has done. [Joe Russo and I] are both big fans of what James Gunn has done. Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you'd be very excited.
Joe Russo, about Thor: Ragnarok wrote:
I'm excited to work with Thor. They're doing some really interesting stuff with 'Ragnarok' and where he's gonna be at the beginning of Infinity War is gonna be a very interesting place and I think very profound. I think he's gonna have a real emotional motivation after that.
Apparently it's a thing, but at a Netflix event in Paris Charlie Cox revealed that "The Defenders" starts filming at the end of the year, and will include Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. It's really more Heroes for Hire than Defenders, but okay. I guess painting them as urban mercenaries didn't play well to focus groups?

Kevin Feige says that a number of writers, including Ryan Coogler are working on a draft for the 2018 Black Panther solo flick. And in a weird connection, Tessa Thompson has been cast as "a kind of superhero" and a "Thor love interest" in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok. I guess Jane got the boot. Cate Blanchett is also rumored to play Hela.

Gotham: That explains the revolving door justice in Gotham, at least. No one guards the evidence room. Beat cops soloing the streets. Penguin Chili Con Carnivaled those golddiggers and it was such a satisfying and quick conclusion to the plot. Definitely the right direction to go after last week's cliche filled slosh. I already miss Peewee.
Supergirl: So Supergirl can physically beat people Superman has trouble with, and is mentally superior and can resist mind control.

Gotham: I thought that Penguin should have let his step-mother wallow in her misery for a bit longer than a minute. And I think they could have shown a bit of the pre-"Chili Con Carnival" interactions with the step-siblings. To start with I just assumed the roast was made from the dog. Wasn't til after she asked where the kids were that I realized the actual events. I'm not taking a 10 minute scene with the family, but just a minute or two more.

Gordon got out of prison, forgiven by everyone, and offered his job back a bit too quickly. But anything else would have just been unnecessary filler that would have caused the episodes to drag. So I'll just pretend that he went back into holding, evidence was brought forth to a judge, a short trial was held, and he was released.

Supergirl: I'm not feeling it right now. Seems a pretty abrupt change in pace. Things just haven't flowed well. And at this point, I can only assume that Kat and Supergirl's Lex Luther are just playing along with Kara's "secret" identity. I mean, Mr. Evil Billionaire knows who she is, right? Cause he went all spy cam in the apartment of two hot young women. I keep assuming Kat does, but I don't recall anything beyond the last time Hank faked himself as Supergirl to prove she wasn't.

SHIELD: Liked the episode, like the story arc so far. Not sure I like the cheesy name they gave Daisy's team. I want to see more Ward/Hive action. I thought for sure we were going to see reanimated corpses brought back as all the past sacrifices when he was talking to the group of Hydra elites.

Well, that's more a callback to an old SHIELD related series called Secret Warriors, that had Daisy and Nick Fury leading a group of super humans on covert operations. Didn't last long, but Easter Egg is Easter Egg.

My take on the episode was: SQUIDWARD.

Warner Brothers announced, to pretty much absolutely no one's surprise, that they're working with Ben Affleck to develop a solo Batman flick. Also producer Simon Kinberg announced that the next Wolverine movie will be set in the future, so the whole "Old Man Logan" rumor is looking more likely. I guess the question at that point would be how they're going to deal with the whole Banner Family subplot, and the lack of Hawkeye and Mysterio. Another announcement, but Spider-Man's solo movie's title is officially "Homecoming." Kind of curious, I enjoyed the last two Spider-Garfield movies but I'll admit I'm painfully bias towards the character, so I'm wondering how they'll work the whole MCU angle into that.

Killing Joke teaser

Doctor Strange

Astral Projection. I'm sold. Hype.

Vision wearing people clothes. I just like the little nonsuperhero scenes in these flicks. Movie poster for Doctor Strange. I like it more than a lot of the other MCU posters.

Marc Guggenheim says that Black Canary's death will "undo" one of Felicity's recent decisions. I'm kind of hoping it's her decision to survive that shooting.

I want to check out this Justice League vs Teen Titans animated film they keep advertising on TV. All of the animated DC and Marvel movies I've watched have been on Netflix so far though. So I'll have to wait it out for it to come to Netflix. Probably not going to buy or rent disc just for it.

I'm looking forward to the Killing Joke film though.

Trailer looks good for Doctor Strange. I have seen I think one animated film featuring him on Netflix, and that's about it. Pretty sure I mentioned that before in this topic. The film looks like it will be one of those "different" movies from the usual Hulk/Ironman/Avengers films. Like Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant Man. Films that carry a different feel than the main line, but still end up being connected. Things that the DC Movie Universe seems to avoid.

I think Strange is going like TV Flash with exploring multiverses, if the Inception-esque scene of New York splitting and folding into itself is any clue. That'd be a neat way to sneak in Fox and Sony specific characters into the greater MCU.

Michael Keaton in talks for a villain role in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Also rumored Vulture will be in the movie, though possibly not the main villain. One of Michael Keaton's recent roles was as an actor whose most famous role was that of "Birdman." Kind of some next level Six Degrees going on here. In more degrees, Robert Downey Jr alludes to possibly maybe appearing in the movie, which would be fun to watch Tony Stark hit on Aunt Marisa To-May. Apparently that happens in Civil War, if the Cinemacon Sony event is any indication. I've been trying to avoid details, since the movie is out real soon and I'm getting more excited.

Channing Tatum is going to be in the next Kingsman movie, because apparently Gambit is going nowhere slow. There's also a "Men In Black" and "21 Jump Street" crossover tentatively titled "MIB 23" in the works, because why the hell not. Also an animated Spider-Man, which I imagine is going to try to kickstart an animated universe similar to DC's. Chris Pratt stars in "Passangers," about a starship being sent to colonize another world which should take 120-years, but some people wake up in just 30. Pratt is the mechanic in charge of fixing things (So I guess it's a comedy?) and Jennifer Lawrence is there to complain about everything I guess. Pratt will also star in a "Magnificent Seven" remake, officially becoming pretty much every 6 year old's dream. Astronauts, cowboys, dinosaurs, superheroes, space pirates. I think we can count Burt Macklin as a cop/fireman role. Well, I count it.

More from CinemaCon, Deadpool 2 is moving forward with director Tim Miller and star Ryan Reynolds, with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote Deadpool, writing the script.

Captain America: Civil War review embargo is over, and so far they're all positive. 84% on Metacritic, 100% on Rotten Tomatoes though this is with only 15 reviews. I imagine mid to upper 80s, maybe 90s if the initial reviews are accurate.

Not a bad week so far.

Looks like Doctor Strange is coming out the day after my Birthday. So if I didn't have a reason to go see it opening weekend before, I do now.

Legends of Tomorrow felt a bit slow, but I think it was a decent episode. Seemed a bit more interesting than the last couple. Not sure how I feel about the two versions of Hawkgirl existing in the same time. I mean, I guess it's bound to happen with immortals and time travel, but not still not sure how I feel about it.

And of course, more future name dropping. I can't help but roll my eyes when they do that. "Herbert George Wells" "You're H G Wells?" "H G, I like that!"

The episodes that don't really advance the story seem to be the better ones. The show can't seem to get an overarching storyline going.
Marvel, about Netflix Defenders wrote:
Douglas Petrie ("Marvel’s Daredevil," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") and Marco Ramirez ("Marvel’s Daredevil," "Orange is the New Black") are set to return as showrunners to the Marvel Universe for the Netflix Original Series "Marvel’s The Defenders"!

Another alum from “Marvel’s Daredevil,” Oscar-nominee Drew Goddard (“The Martian,” “Lost,” “Alias”), will also join the team as an Executive Producer.

The Executive Producers and showrunners of “Marvel’s Daredevil” Season 2 will unite the Man Without Fear with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist for the mini-series event bringing our heroes together to face their biggest threat yet.
I'm going to go ahead and say that (1) I'm most looking forward to Iron Fist and Luke Cage interacting (2) It really should have been called Heroes for Hire. These characters have nothing to do with The Defenders, but I guess we can't have the good guys sound like mercenaries and they have to do it out of the kindness of their hearts and blargh.

As expected (or I guess, at least hoped for by fans) The Killing Joke animated film has received an R rating. Most of the comments about the news are positive. With a few negatives to be expected. Apparent anger over Batgirl rape.

This is my surprise face. They'll skip the photoshoot, at or at least significantly lessen the significance and barely reference it at all, while leaving Jim getting beat by midgets and chained naked in a cage. Just watch. Oh well, still Hamill and Conroy. Director David Ayer says that an R rating for a Suicide Squad is worth lobbying for. Figured Killing Joke would be, but I'd like to imagine Suicide Squad would have waited until after the movie is out to talk about riding Deadpool's coattails for it's sequel. Josh Boone on the other hand says the second draft for the New Mutants film is complete, crediting Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod, which has the rumormill going in full force believing this is a hint of the movie's lineup being the original New Mutants, Cannonball, Karma, Mirage, Sunspot and Wolfsbane. No actual casting yet.

Fear the Walking Dead renewed for third season. Because AMC needs to remind everyone that The Walking Dead will return soon.

I'm a bit less pessimistic about it. But I have no doubt that the violence toward the male characters, and possible nudity, would be depicted more, and be more extreme. That's just the way all media is. The amount of "On Male" violence that exists in a movie has to be pretty damn high before anyone really gives two ***** about it. If ever.

Gotham: Eh, no Penguin, no Nygma, too much Barbara and Bruce. Raptor-Arm-Girl was amusing for a moment, then she got ice cubed. And Fries doesn't really seem to have his motivation so he ends up more random named henchman than anything. Azrael might be neat.
Supergirl: Advanced alien technology designed to enslave entire worlds is no match for a sappy bleeding-heart speech apparently.

How did NotLex Luthor and NotThunderbolt Ross get the Wiffleball of Power, exactly?

I want the whole "Kara is better than Clark in every way possible" subplot to go away.

Iron Fist is rolling along, adding Jessica Stroup and Tom Pelphrey. They will be Joy and Ward Meachum, who in the comics blame Danny for their father, Harold Meachum's death. Also Arleo Dordar as Davos. Considering Daredevil S1, I wouldn't be surprised to see the little old Asian woman show up. Crane Mother is definitely an Iron Fist character, and a great link between the two series. Who will be played by David Wenham. Filming has also started, and some quick pictures of as Danny Rand have shown up already. Hippy bohemien vibe going, which is certainly in the right direction. (1 / 2 / 3 4)

Willem Dafoe joins Justice League as a rumored good guy, along with JK Simmons as Jim Gordan and the rest of the Batman v Superman cast. First part is still directed by Zack Snyder though, and realistically he'll probably get part 2 as well simply for "consistency's sake."

Flash is back tonight, so that's something.

Flash: Perfect chance to link the Supergirl crossover and the passed at the top of the episode. "How long was I gone." Right there, could have talked about travelling multiverses.

"The Flash, brought to you by Marvel's Captain America: Civil War." Somehow I found that to be far more amusing than it probably actually is.

Anyway, Barry has yet another bad idea and it blows up in his face. Pretty much the standard.

SHIELD: Poor Fitz. Just about to get some Simmons and Mary Sue Poots up and ruins everything, this time on purpose though. Kind of thought it would be too obvious for her to be the secret bad guy, considering how they spent like a million seasons showing everyone just how amazing she was. Good amount of red herrings, a really solid whodunit. Most importantly though: SquidWard finally got inside Poots like he always wanted. Smiley: grin Actually kind of enjoyed the episode.
SHIELD is getting better, Gotham is spotty, Flash is getting worse, and can't say I ever liked Arrow and it's only first season but I don't think I'm gonna enjoy much of Legends and Supergirl if they end up getting renewed.

Watched a couple episodes of "Hunters" on SciFi. Alien Terrorists.

Containment dealt a lot more with the human interactions than with the outbreak. And they repeated "Hey, 4-6 feet!" so often that I think they were trying to make a meme. I think it airs again on Friday. I forgot about it until I was watched my Flash recording. Luckily my box was still on the channel, so while I as 28 minutes late, it had it all there ready for me to save. I see the whole mini series playing out pretty predictably. Probably still going to be worth a watch, it is just a short mini series.

Recorded Night Manager, not much an impression yet, other than a couple good lead actors.
