I'm kind of surprised (but not really) out of all the trailers I saw on the Superbowl yesterday, I didn't see this one.
I had seen it a few times in the past few weeks. But I don't recall what channels or shows I was watching when they did. Doesn't seem to be getting much play in the rotations, maybe it will pick up as it comes closer to release. Or maybe the
I like the feel of the trailer. And enjoy the song they chose. Song-magic. Origami. Creepy Japanese witches. Sword wielding monkeys.
I was thinking of Coraline when I first saw it. Turns out that it's the same Studio. I didn't recognize the name, Laika, but I have seen a couple of their movies (Coraline, ParaNorman) and liked them.
Huh. I remember seeing it, but not sure where as well. I remember liking it. If it wasn't such a heavy year for movies I'd probably consider seeing it in theaters.

Solid movie. This may have the highest stop motion animation of any feature length film to date, Laika is clearly top notch. Character and environmental design are also very strong. The movie is just gorgeous to watch.
The Story is above average, but I feel they may have made a mistake in the overall structure. Without giving away spoilers, the world is too tight and close knit. They focus more on character development rather than world building, which limits the beauty of paths they could have expanded down. Characters are too closely tied together which makes the world feel tiny.
