I've heard up to 5000g each o.O

Thinking about getting my BS up on my pally as he's getting closer to 85 and ready to chain run heroics. I'll probably wind up with a few of those in my bags one day, if I have 3 orbs and 525 BSing I wonder if people will really pay up to 18,000g for a blue weapon... o.O

Orbs are BOP and drop in heroics, and are required to craft lots of BOE gear. So if I had say 3 orbs, a person could bring me the rest of the materials, I could craft them a weapon with my mats. Or I could just buy the mats myself, craft the item and try to sell it on the AH. Either way what do you think an average orb costs on your realm?

All of my crafting skills are too low for me to care right now. I have been slowly picking them up on my bear so maybe if I start farming leather I'll look into it but the ore/JC market is too lucrative now for me to worry about LW.

I thought they were BOP - what, are people NEED rolling for them in groups and then auctioning them off to the losers?

I think Mike was calculating the average price based on the AH price of resulting items. Not sure though.

You can't roll need and sell, because you can't even trade them among dungeon group members! Once it's in your bag, that's it.

Ya, he meant if an item cost 4 x, 3 y and 3 z plus 1 Chaos Orb to make and Steve the Pirate brings x, y and z what do you charge him for the Orb.

Anyone have any experience with this sort of transaction?

i wouldnt pay that to be honest. i would farm the mats my self and find some one tp make it and just tip them. that seems to be the general practice of the game. there are some people who dont care and will just buy the item because they need it NOW. but that is a hard market to push. besides you will need them for your own use as far as enchants and making weapons for your own pally goes. i will run Hot's and i can get anywhere from 2-7 a day. if you hit 85 you can make alot of gold farming level 81 armor and sell it on the AH people will buy for there 80's that used the leveling gear.

I recall seeing that there was a change in 4.3 - they are now rollable on greed for anybody, not just the specialists, and freely tradeable at the AH. On the other hand, on the Quel'dorei Horde AH, they're only bringing 50GP or so each. A 20-stack of embersilk or frostweave is a lot easier to come by and brings more.
