who gives you the quest? Or is it sufficient simply killing him for having the boots?

Just go over the bridge south of Nalliten. Right on the other side to the east of the road at the base of the mountain are some Tawny Lynxs and some Carrion Crawlers. Tas should be right around there. He conned yellow to me with my 11 Berzerker.

I happened to be there looking for Ick (a spider) in the Mucking Through the Ick quest.

Apparently, killing Tas begins and completes a quest, called Tas One Drop because now it's listed in my completed quest list.

it is good to be around level 9-11 when looking for tas at level 9 he was orange to me. The boots are real nice almost anyone can wear them and they should be good for a while at level 12 they still con yellow to me and should for a little while still.
