Er not to belabour a point but autosplit does have its place. If the receiver of the item can't personally use it, THEY can decide what to do with it. How do you know that they do not have an alt that desperately needs such an item and even if they do not, they need to upgrade (to scale by your example) and probably finance the upgrade with the sale or trade of the item?

They take the same risks as you do in grouping those mobs, and are entitled to the same opportunity of rewards. If you are grouping mobs that drop fighter type gear only, you will have fun fighting them without casters, healers, and crowd controllers. Need before greed is nice and I often give away items that I cant use but that is MY CHOICE, not your devine right.

Try offering to pay for, or trade for, the item, you may get a bargain price. If you demand it as your devine right, do not be surprised that you may no longer find yourself in a group.

got one of these from a Far Darrig near Innis, cons orange at 40. 4 hours of killing those resulted in one of these and this uber Piercer with 15.3:2.2, which that would have been a blade :)
wtf?

You do realise that af92 at 89% quality is only the same as af70 at 100% quality? Ok this stuff has stats but once people get this message and spellcraft is implemented (and hopefully tier 9 materials taking us to af88 crafted armor) I think this sort of stuff will become unwanted.

Not sure where you went to school, but AF92 quality 89% would be effective AF of 82 not 70; if you only consider quality.
However, bonus does figure into this equation, as does condition. But you can have crafted armor enchanted to add bonus and on AF70 armor the bonus would be 25%. So if you consider bonuses and at 100% condition the effective AF would be 94AF and 87AF, respectively

So while this armor is better than an enchanted crafted AF70 piece, it would be worse than an enchanted crafted AF82 piece at 100% quality. But we can't make AF82 armor, yet.

Hi folks, this is Cndr from Pecievel, :o)

I'll tell ye what I've been told and has been posted by the devs elsewhere. One place to find a link is on Ranger's Glade... but it's on the official site as well and I don't hae the direct link handy. :o(

Here's how Quality comes into play with ALL things as far as I hae been told and read all over the place:

Take the Quality [Hereafter referred to as Q] of an item and convert the % to a DECIMAL [ Q 89% = .89] THEN SQUARE it [.89^2 = .7921] then use this NEW number to base ALL of your RESULTANT/FINAL AF, Dps, parry, block, etc. anything on.

In the initial AF issue... AF 92 Q 89% results in AF 73 [72.87 rounded up] but adding a 15% bonus it may be slightly higher [I don't know the answer to this one entirely yet] and become AF 84 [83.8 rounded up]. From others much higher up and a little bit of exp from me it appears that Q applies to the absorb rate as well. This being said it may also be fair to say the BONUS also applies to the RESULTANT/FINAL ABSORB factor too.

Just trying to help.

:o)

How do

This may be a silly question, but how do you examine an object to get it's magical bonuses to appear in a window like in the above example? I know right-clicking on an item will result in the little box of it showing its stats, but I can't work out how to get the larger window with all the magic elements to show.

Anyone know, please reply.

Hey Vencint -

It's Draethor. These bad boys, and a lot of other amazing stuff (got a lvl 50 gem that's +5 pwr +8 int jewelry slot) drop from far darrigs and dullahan that spawn around Innis late at night. The drop rate currently is way too low, an 8 hr camp with a group that massacres these things results in maybe 2-3 pieces of loot. Far Darrigs are around level 42 or 43 (all red at 38) and the dullahan are around level 47 or so.

92 factor...that is absolutly INSANE!!!!!
Far Darrigs
# Nov 28 2001 at 11:18 PM Rating: Default
Far Darrigs in Bog of Cullen and Lough Gur drop those.
They are reinforced so you have no use for them as hero.
By the way I was lvl 38 when I took the picture, I believe they only become orange at lvl 39....
What mob these off of?

What monster do these drop off? and how rare is it? im tired of hunting in treibh just to have the auto split on Ursine forged go to a 29 druid who then puts them on and doesnt ask if someone needs, or losing a vest to a bard named Femme who doesnt solo and doesnt need it.

That's what's wrong with hunting in Treibh.

Level 37 heros that think they have a right to the reinforced(only an idiot would wear reinforced when he can wear scale) when a bard is in the back keeping people alive.

Get a clue, please.
As a bard.

I went to Triebh myself for 2 weeks hoping for just a single piece of af 74 and met alot of people with that same mentality.

How says bards dont solo at all? What do you think we do when we dont want to group (its not often abiet but eh)

And why are we not entitled to good af? Until lvl 34 I was wearing af 40! And getting pounded every time. Now I finally got some af 68 and can actually survive those purple monsters that resist my first mez attempt.

Just a bard backin his own. :)

I'd agree, but only because this is reinforced armor. At level 37 if you're not grouped or haven't befriended enough people, or saved enough money... to obtain a dropped or crafted piece of scale instead of ripping reinforced from he mits of a ranger, bard..blademaster..etc.. then, well, maybe you should reconsider your class choice.

Autosplit has it's advantages, and disadvantages. One big disadvantage is there are a lot of people out there who, if they think the split message went unnoticed, will bank items like these and sell them or use them on an alt later. In people's defense, the world of DAOC seems to have far less loot mongering S.O.B.s then other games.

# Oct 17 2002 at 10:58 AM Rating: Good
I don't see that as a disadvantage. I'm not in a guild, and the only support my alts have is my higher level characters occasionally bringing home decent gear.

If I got the drop fair and square through autosplit and you start DEMANDING it without offering me reasonable compensation, then YOU are the loot mongering SOB.

I'm not a bard, I'm a ranger. But I gotta back the bards on this one. WIthout a bard my life would be slow and short. Give em what they need(not want) heh
