Wicked Thorn is not left hand usable currently (4/26/02). Might have been mistaken with the lvl 40 epic dagger, that IS left hand usable but when it first came out it wasn't. This weapon along with the lvl 40 epic dagger make a good combo for lvl 40+ piercing Rangers.

This weapon is 13 or so dps after you subtract quality, and its left hand useable. its better than rapier of forsaken, i know cause i have both of them, the rapier however does add 4 peircing so that might you hit harder because it raises your spec.

I heard it wasnt a very hard hitting weapon, my blue rapier (rapier of forsaken) hits harder then that, and when wicked thorn turns yellow it procs though

Well, don't know, I'm not the programmer. But mine does too at level 42 with 20 piercing. Maybe because it's orange? Maybe because it's +2 piercing vs +4 of the rapier? Maybe the combinatiojn of lower quality, inappropriate level, and less bonus to piercing? Dunno. But don't be such a smart-**** and come here puffin like you own the place, thinking everyone is an idiot, blah blah. My guild leader is a lot like that, and he's about to be a guild with 1 less ranger.

It is quite likely that with 20 spec in piercing, the Rapier of the Forsaken might hit harder for you, however, you would likely find that your damage over time is higher with the Wicked Thorn. The rapier is, I believe, 11.7/2.7 (100%, so 11.7 true dps), while the Thorn would be, at 42, clamped at 13 some dps (dropped to high 11/low 12 due to quality), but with a 2.2 speed. So you might hit for a bit less, but you'll hit more often. And once you get the dps of the thorn up a bit more, you'll do quite a bit more damage per hit, even compared to the slower rapier.
