Cullen's ship was sunk by a band of river sprites and he really wants his precious cargo of apple brandy.

Cullen Smyth says, "What am I to do? My boat has sunk in the river and the [cargo] lost. Oh what am I to do?"

Cullen Smyth says, "My cargo of fine apple brandy that I was delivering to the King's table. Did you know that Hakon is a master wood craftsman as well as a hunter?"

From the river that crosses through Cotswold Village, follow the Camelot-side south for quite a ways. It is a little past halfway to Prydwen Keep, so it may take a minute or two. You will see a ship surrounded by sprites along the shoreline. Kill some and one named Sephucoth will spawn. He drops the brandy. Bring it back to Cullen and he will give you a gold nugget to sell to a merchant.

*Note: you don't have to talk to Cullen first, just kill Sephucoth and then deliver the brandy. Brandy is a common drop from Sepucoth. If you are going to kill Sephucoth, you might as well also perform the Heart of Sephucoth quest as well.

Cluck like a chicken three times and shout banana as loud as you can. It'll make him appear instantly ;)

General tip- if you need to find a particular NPC, ask a Guard. Type in '/where Fizban' for example, and if Fizban is in that general area the Guard will point directly at him.

Since the rivers in DA don't actually have a direction, when you say "up" that generally means north.

The sunken ship is in the opposite direction, south.

Rivers DO have a direction, either upstream or downstream. Upstream is against the current, downstream is with the current; sit and watch the river a while and see which way it flows.

Well, yes, actually they do have a direction, they run to the ocean. You are right, however, it isn't upstream from Cotswold, it's downstream.

there is no stream at all. If you swim across, you can stop swimming in the middle and just stay there.

i did the heart of sepucoth quest to get the charm, and when i killed sepucoth he dropped the keg of apple brandy as well. i saved it, because it was only worth 8 copper...i was wondering around cotswold later that evening, and talked to the man that was near the archer's hut. he told me about the "cargo" and i gave him the brandy. i received a gold nugget and some experience. im glad i saved it :)

I have found that on some quests you have to actually "say" <TYPE> things to the NPC's to trigger the quest, try this it may work... however I haven't done this quest myself.
# Oct 17 2001 at 7:45 AM Rating: Default
It's an everlasting quest, so it won't show up in your Journal, much like the 'bandit ear' or 'rock imp' ones.

Im level 7, clicked him, he told me the story but did not offer the quest... What's wrong?
