DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

Frip can be found standing next to the bridge near Prydwen Keep, which connects Salisbury Plains to Camelot Hills. Talk to him and he will tell you about how he lost his dad in a ruin nearby and fears he may be dead. Well, he's almost right. Frip's dad, Hugrath, is undead and surrounded by friends. He spawns in a building in the ruins just upriver from Frip and drops a Quicksilver Bracer when killed. More specifically, the tower Frip's Dad is in is the broken tower (smaller one), southeast of the Demon Tower. It is along the river east of the bridge where Frip is located. Pocket the bracer and let Frip know about his dad for some extra experience.

Reward:
  Quicksilver Bracer

I went looking for Hugrath yesterday evening, and at level 10, the demons at the door were blue. I could con mobs inside that were yellow and orange. I'm surprised that anyone at level 9 found only blue. My bad luck? Changed the levels?

I did this quest at lvl 9 and I started it at about 9am game time, had to wait until darkness fell before Frip's father spawned. Went up the hill to kill druids and kept checking back the only thing that was colored to me was his father and he conned blue, zombies all conned grey with about 3 of them conning green. Very easy kill for a Cabalist.

Wand as well?
# Mar 17 2002 at 6:21 PM Rating: Default
Yeah no problems doing at as listed here. I soloed the daddy at lvl 8 as a Pally too & got the Bracer. He was yellow to me.
I do have 1 question tho...Apart form the Bracer (which goes straight into the Backpack), He Drops a "Wand of Pestilence" as loot which when u do a 'shift + I' on it says it has no "special properties". Anyone know whats up with that...will an Enchanter "Fix" it or what?
Which tower?

Is it the tower with the flying demons or the undead druids?

Good quest

My Level 8 Paladin teamed up with a cleric to do this one. Daddy spawns in the small broken tower just south of the castle ruins which are east of the bridge from Camelot Hills to Salisbury (on the CH side of the river). It's kind of a long wait for him to spawn, and he only spawns at night. There are a bunch of zombies hanging around, though, so you would be well advised to try to clear them out as much as possible before he spawns. After you kill him, get the bracer and then go see Frip. The Bracer is very nice, I ended up keeping mine until Level 13...

Frip Quest/Update
# Feb 04 2002 at 3:31 PM Rating: Decent
One other comment - If you are grouped and everyone in group does the quest ALL OF YOU get the bracers at the same time AFTER u kill him.

The real challenge then becomes who will return to FRIP first and utter LOVE to him to complete the quest for XP. FRIP runs off after the First one says LOVE. Everyone else has to wait and it is a matter of first reaction gets the xp while the others wait.

The Quicken Bracers are nice, the xp is ok, but would not waste my time waiting, just say it next time running back to get your CONT fixed.

Not true... i cleared the hut at least three times, and no dad spawned. Then he spawned when darkness fell... the hut was full of monsters.
Aggro
# Dec 12 2001 at 2:16 PM Rating: Default
I did this quest as a L10 Infiltrator and the zombies surrounding his Dad did not go aggro. I stealthed in, backstabbed, and fought him where he stood and the 5 or so zombies around him never did a thing.
A few corrections
# Nov 19 2001 at 12:32 PM Rating: Good
First off, Hugrath only spawns at night, astarting around sunset to just before sunrise, during the day a ghost type (can't remember whats their called, but its not a named mob) pops in hugraths place.

Second, bring along a scout, minstrel, wzaird...anyone with a ranged attack to draw him out of the hut. The zombies inside will not aggro you if you pull from a distance.

Third, the quest is given in Camelot hills, the bridge listed is correct. Why the quest says avalon marsh I'll never know... Also, Frip may not always be at his spot, after you tell him his father loved him (just walk to him and say "love" to him after killing mulgrut) he runs off into the hills and won't repop ffor a minute or 2. So if you beat Hugrath and Frip isn't there, don't sweat it, he'll be back in a minute or 2.

Just thought I'd clear a few things up :)

I have to agree with the spawns at night issue. I emptied the hut four times and he never spawned. Then, as I'm sitting recovering endurance *poof* there's Daddy, just as the sun sets. Conned blue to me at level 9 Scout, so he was no problem to kill. Just hit him with my Critical Shot, and finished him off with my flint dirk (need a better hand weapon pretty soon).
Always There

He's almost always at his spawn point by the way, there's almost a zero wait for him to appear. Which isn't always a good thing... I died after the first time I killed him, because everything else in that little building goes aggro when you attack him. I killed him and got the bracer, but was killed by his little buddies. By the time I'd ran back to the building from the bridge where I'd bound, he was already back... I barely was able to pray and get out of there alive.

If you can, kill everything around him first, before attacking him. I'm an armsman and soloed him at level 8, and he conned yellow and his buddies conned blue, which is why I had troubles.

Arr.. not always, you must have had some bad luck coming your way. When I did the quest today, it took him a while to appear.

I waited and waited for him from about 1.00 PM game time.. cleared the house of the zombies over and over and over.. nothing. I gave up, sat and waited. He finally popped at around game time 7.00 PM. I think it's safe to say he only pops at night.

Frip is standing near the bridge on the Camelot side of the river. It's the bridge on the road between Camelot Hills and the Salisbury Plains.

When you get the quest, head due east of Frip. After a short 1.5 minute stroll you'll see the broken tower. Next to the tower (on the south side) is what looks like a stone hut. It's actually the top of the broken tower. A pack of 4 brain eaters (zombies) spawn in the hut 24/7. At night, Frips dad spawns with them. (If you're level 8, keep your distance from the tower entrace. A couple of chunky demons spawn there, and they'll hand you your gravestone.

I did this quest late, so I'm not sure how difficult it'll be for a lone level 8 to kill his dad. I'm guessing it shouldn't be much trouble.

Did you actually see him pop during the daytime? Or had he been waiting there since night time, just nobody had killed him yet?
Jeweled Dagger?

Doesn't he drop some Jeweled Dagger? I was hunting demons and saw text saying he dropped a j.dagger... is it just junk or another good trinket you can get?

Jeweled Dagger is just a random drop. I got one off a Dwarf Brawler. Its pretty nice. Like 5.4/2.4 slash red to me at 7.
Frip and Father
# Oct 20 2001 at 2:02 PM Rating: Decent
Things you can say to Frip once you've killed his undead father

Your father still loves how you got him killed
Your father is still in the ground and loves the idea of you coming with him.
Your the brat who thinks his father still loves him. Joke's on you!
Your father still thinks your mother loves to dress you up like a girl..here's the proof.

Etc, ad nauseum

And yes, +1 to parry and spawns at night

Is the dad IN the building with the deamon guards? or in one of the surrounding camps? Anyone know?

Just asking cause the deamon guards spawn very very fast and if he's in there, then it may be a while for me :(

The dad spawns in a small building between the tower with the demons and the river. Conned yellow at 8. You CAN get the quest at level 8 BTW. Typically, you can get some people to help you that are milling about the bridge, as the quest takes all of about 45 seconds once you've received it.
