Gronyr wanders the roads outside Prydwen Keep and stops at the stone in the road that says Camelot. He also stands near the entrance of Prydwen Keep and some times near the farm house where the zombies spawn. If you hail him, he will warn you about the zombies that have taken over his farm. The farm is near the road and if you wait until night time, the farmer will spawn along with a pile of other zombies. Killing the farmer gets you some nice gloves. Killing the zombie sows will sometimes get you a rotting hog tail. Give the tails back to Gronyr and he will give you a cloudy green stone (worth about 50 copper) for each one.

Gronyr wanders, sometimes he is in Prydwen Keep to the left of the entrance, sometimes on the road by the Camelot stone, and third place is next to the rock next to the stables at the farm.

Gronyr Gloyw says, "Help! Evil is walking the land and it has despoiled my farm. An army of [zombie swine] has invaded my land, they are led by the walking corpse of the farmer who owned the land before me."

Gronyr Gloyw says, "Aye, foul and corrupted undead swine rise from the ground at [night] and dance around their unholy master, a zombie farmer. If you bring me rotting hig tails as proof that you have killed them, I will reward you."

Gronyr Gloyw says, "Only at night do the beasts rise from the grave to ravage my fields. Even if you do not agree to help me, beware walking the road near m farm at night, for evil walks the land."

After killing a zombie sow, give the hog tail to Gronyr Gloyw.

Gronyr Gloyw says, "Thank heavens, one less monster to ruin my land. Here is a small payment for your troubles."

You receive a cloudy green stone from Gronyr Gloyw!

I was a 4th level fighter and I managed to kill 2 of the zombie sows, close fights but it seems anyone who can turn in the tails can complete this

I killed the farmer from the barn, i climped up and he was actually in range for my fireball. it was easy because nothing else could reach me. He dropped a Sorc thing, though id do it again for the gloves i hear about.

Farmer Glovers

I killed the zombie farmer twice and no gloves. Are the gloves just a random magic item that the zombie farmer drops. Should I stick around and kill him a couple more times to try to get the gloves?
he gets help

I think that was the levels, was a while back. Anyway the boars coned blue and the sows green. Made a ton of money and never died. Stayed all night collected about 20 tails gave em to the farmer. He hangs by the barn or by the sign post in the road. He gave me the gems, and i sold them to the stable master by the barn. It was great i didnt even have to travel :)

The farmers gloves can also be had off rotting skeletons in camp forest - I found 2 pairs in 20 minutes - sells for 210 copper - nice for a lvl 3 elementalist.

I just picked this quest up last night by accident. I'm level 13. <shrug>

I believe it's merely a bounty quest. There are several and most starting towns have them to help lower level people make some money. Humberton has a dwarf hunt, Ludlow pays bounty on boulderlings, Prydwen(Gronyr) zombie boars. These are old beta quests from back when everyone started around Camelot and not far flung Camp forest or Ardibard's. They have no end, they are repeatable bounty quests.
Avalon Marsh?
# Oct 24 2001 at 6:16 PM Rating: Good
The start zone says Avalon Marsh, but the starting NPC is Gronyr Gloyw, isn't he walking on the road by Prydwen Keep?
broken quest?
# Oct 24 2001 at 6:12 PM Rating: Decent
I killed the zombie farmer, he dropped obsidian and a bag of coins. When I returned to Gronyr, he didn't say anything new.
RE: broken quest?
# Oct 25 2001 at 12:33 AM Rating: Decent
Nope, not broken. The quest is about the zombie swine, not the farmer.

What to turn in?
# Oct 21 2001 at 4:47 PM Rating: Decent
We killed the farmer about 3 times last night, Turning in tails got us the 80cp gems, but farmer only droped some random gems and the quest dialogue did not change.
# Oct 17 2001 at 7:52 AM Rating: Default
Is this quest totally changed? It used to be the zombie oinkers you were supposed to kill, for the tail. Killing the farmer was kind of a bunos, but didn't give anything from Gronyr.
# Oct 16 2001 at 4:31 PM Rating: Good
The farm is located at the Prydwen intersection behind where gronyr stops for a bit on his walk. It has a fence and a building that can be seen from the road. Gronyr can be found at the farm once in a while on his walk too.

THe zombies are zombie Boars and zombie sows. DONT look for regular zombies. We fought the zombie "swine" all night long and never did see the zombie farmer.

Though Gronyr will give you a green stone/gem worth 80 copper for each of the pig tails you get from the zombie swine.
