DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Characters that were created after Patch Version 1.79 do not receive this Epic quest. Head to Inasksha in Haggerfel. Talk to her and she sends you to Corath in Huginfell. Corath an be found in the bar. You must actually say [Rod of Mimir] to him. He talks to you a while at which he ends with you needing to return to Inaksha. Upon talking to Inakasha you are given the task to kill Fressen, the dark kobold. Fressen can be found on the shipwreck near Nalliten. Careful. Fressen is green at 20 and looks alone but when you cast or hit him he summons instantly 4 or 5 drifiting spirits. After you kill Fressen the spirits will disapear and he will drop his journal. Return the journal to Inakasha for your reward. Inaksha says, "Hail! It is good you have returned. I have meditated long on what action we must take to secure the Rod of Mimir. Before we can journey into the depths of the realm, we must [learn] more of the rod and what obstacles may lay in our path." Inaksha says, "I know of a young shaman. Corath, I believe is his name. He knows much of the thul. Perhaps he could enlighten us on what we should expect. He was last seen adventuring within the western part of Svealand. Seek him out and inquire about the rod and the Thul." You have been given the Visions of Darkness quest. Step 3 of Wisdom of Time (yes, it's step 3 again?) -Learn what steps must be taken to secure the Rod of Mimir Step 4 - kill Fressen a kobald by the boat near Nalliten - then return to Inaksha in Haggerfel Experience gained: 540,672 Rewards: |

Need some help with the location of Corath, ie where in the hell is he in West Sveland? I've nbeen over by the bloodfeleg, i've been down south, to gotar, i've been traveling the borders of w. sveland and i can't find him to save my soul! can i get a hand? Thanks

Fressen's on the boat with his buddy. Mez'd them all and wacked Fressen. No problems save the trip back to Haggerfel.

I got a bracer as well as opposed to the necklace. +3 aug +1 something else.

I found that by mezzing his henchmen and running to the nearby town, his muliple spirit henchmen would follow. I could then kill all the henchmen using the town guard and then get to Fresen and his one remaining guy easily.

I'm a sham doing this Visions of Darkness Quest. I'd like to point out that in my Journal his name is Corath not Gorath. And when i went to talk with him, the name over his head was also Corath.

I began thisq uest by talking to Inashka in Haggerfel. She told me to seek out Gorath in Hugginfel and say /say Rod of Mimir. I went to Hugginfel and told Gorath /say Rod of Mimir but he won't talk to me. My mate is a shaman and he could talk to him but not me. We are lvl 20 both. Have anyone else expirienced this problem?? Is it a bug or something??

Great Quest.. And was able to complete at level 20.
I found Fressen exactly where the notes state he is, on the boat with his "buddy". But, I found it much easier with it referenced east of Nalliten than following the shore from Ft. Atla.
What I did to get Fressen one on one was to pull his "buddy" to get the hammer drop. Then mez Fressen on the boat. His 5 spirit friends materialized and gave chase. Led them to the guards in Nalliten to take care of and dispatch them. By this time Fressen had started to give chase and I ran back to melee with him one on one. Still pretty tough one on one for level 20.
Well worth the rewards though.

I dunno if someone had killed the friends or what but it was just Fressen and that was it. Someone else pulled Trollkie that wanted the hammer. He was super easy alone. Nothing spawned when I pulled him.

Better (well easier) way to find Fressen is head straight out of Fort Atla towards mirkwood(galpen) untill you come to a stone bridge, look to your left and you will see Nalliten. Go directly through Nalliten and along the beach untill you see a ship wreck and there is Fressen and pal. If your a level 10+ healer you can also get a decent hammer from Fressens companion called the red bludgeoner that adds to your hammer skill. Id only recommend bothering to get that if your 10-14 though.

I pulled Fressen's pals one at a time first. They all come when you attack Fressen. After they were all gone, I attacked Fressen and A whole bunch of pals popped immediatly! I concentrated on Fressen, and when he died, the others disappeared! Whew!

Just did this quest and only note Ill add to last post is that its not on an island. It is east of Nalliten on shore. Was no problem at lev 22, even with his friends coming to help him.

I did just did this quest tonight. I am Ingmithril of Bors and am a 20th lvl Shaman. It's the same basic storyline.
My encounter with Fressen differed from that outlined above. He was green. When I arrived at the shipwreck i didn't initially see Fress. I saw some other grey monster which I started to kill when I saw Fressen was in the boat wreck. Fressen immediately jumped in and I switched to him and killed him easily. I then finished off his grey friend.
I got the book mentioned as a result and returned to Inaksha who read it and summed up the whole book to me. She then awarded me a shaman necklace that's pretty good. Can't recall exact stats but it was like +4 piety and maybe plus quickness...not sure but it's totally worth it.
My journal now says to return to Inaksha when I turn 25.
To find Fressen - From Ft. Atla head toward the shoreline and start moving south until you see a longish somewhat broad and flat island just offshore. Swim to it and head south along it's eastern shore - you'll know it's the right place if at night there are a bunch of drowned souls and other undead ghosts. There you will eventually come to the wreck.

Where is "Nalliten", what zone and aprox loc?

I felt it was important to note that this is the Healer class lvl 20 Epic. I completed this at lvl 23 with little problem. Watch out for Fressen's frinds as they my be a little tough if you do this at 20.
