DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

As of patch 1.79 this quest is no longer being given out, only those with this quest in their journals prior to the 1.79 patch can complete this quest. This quest has been replaced with a new Epic quest (#6).

Per patch 1.75:
- Chains of Death - Erich and the Giant Skeletons have been moved northeast of Cornwall Station atop a hill.

When you return to your trainer in Camelot upon reaching level 30 you are told that the wizards succeeded in breaking the spells holding Aricoer's box, and they found a wealth of gold and silver, which has been donated to the church. Also inside was a small figurine wrapped in a scroll. The scroll states that if the owner requires assistance they should seek out the one who wears the honored sacrifical dagger.

Once again your assistance is needed, and you are directed to speak to Loremaster Alain to see what information he may have on the figurine. He can be found on the second floor of The Academy in Camelot. Alain has seen this type of object before. He explains that it is used to identify the holder as the key to some unholy sacrifice. He says the one who made the figurine must have great skill in carving bone.

Upon returning to your trainer you are informed that The Church has sent couriers to all their trainers throughout the Realm. You as asked to search them out to see what additional information they may be able to add. You are also given a second figurine to give as a gift, as expected when one delivers the first figurine. This gift has been endowed with the holiest of prayers.

As it turned out Lord Adribard and Lady Lynn, the Paladin and Cleric trainers in Adribard's Retreat, did have some information about a woman the roams among the undead somewhere in Cornwall. Since Aricoer was found in Cornwall at the broken tower, this
seems like it could be the one your seek.

Even at this point in your career, Cornwall is a very dangerous place. There are no guards west of Cornwall Station, and the land has many dangerous creatures that roam around. There are three places in Corwall that I know to have undead. You have already been to the broken tower in western Cornwall, and you may have been to the ruins just northwest of Cornwall Station to seen Brother Jarrell's ghost. There is one other site, a ruined Roman villa, that has a number of undead Romans wandering within and without its walls. To get there head west along the road until you see a small path headed east.

There you will see a few giant skeletons, and a woman nearby named Erich, who is the one you seek. It is probably best if you eliminate the giant skeletons one by one before attempting to talk to Erich. He is located at 61.1k 14.8k Cornwall, NE of Cornwall station.

When you talk with Erich, she mistakenly believes you are actually in disguise, and asks for the bone figurine. She then asks for a small gift. Then she takes it from you she
realizes her mistake too late, and the prayers upon it destroy her. Any remaining giant skeletons will then attack you. You are awarded some silver and some experience, and she
also dropped a Netherwordly Cloak, a very nice Sorcerer and Cabalist cloak.

Upon returning to you trainer, you are awarded a nice item for your diligent work. For Paladins, this is a nice pair of plate gloves called Blessed Vindicators. They appear purple when you wear them.

Rewards:
  • Blessed Vindicators -- Paladins

  • Symbol of Faith -- Cleric
  • Rewards:
      Blessed Vindicators
      Glowing Symbol of Faith

Stony and myself just completed this, found her twice up around 60000,56000, way up in the trees SE of the villa.

We both managed to give her both figurines before she disappeared.

Im a lvl 31 cleric, when I killed Erich, she did not drop any cloak, and when I got my sheild, I figured it would be purple, because the vinds are a lvl 40 item, but the sheild was yellow! i dont think thats right

Stop complaining, mobs don't always drop items. Your shield was yellow because it was from an epic quest, you do the quest in order to get something you can use right away, if you haven't figured that out by 31...

THIS IS 4TH PART OF THE QUEST
    # Feb 08 2002 at 9:01 AM Rating: Default
Part one is at lev 15, 2nd at lev 20, 3rd at lev25, and 4th at lev 30.

I was told after finishing the Amano quest and talking to my trainer again to come back at lev 25. Yet this quest says to return at lev. 30. I'm assuming this is different from this quest, or did they move it up to lev. 25?

    Please advise.
    Is it...is it over?

Does this epic quest stop at 30th? The cleric trainer did not give me anything to do at 35th or 36th....how sad. I rather looked forward to the rewards of these quests.

To the guy that posted on Jan 2, if you spent as much time in game as you did ******* about it you
would have found it by now.

For those of you who need the info, here you go.
I found our friend Amano by heading North West
of the lone tower. Now the tower I speak of is
the first lone tower after the go over the large
bridge coming from Soth Black mountains to North
black mountains. It will be on your left hand side.

    Good luck,

This is great, but how do you do the 2ND PART of the quest, there is the first part, and the third but ya left out the middle someone...All the journal says is "lend assistance to the realm and to adribard"...now wtf is that $hit?! All the trainer said to me was kill this sorcerer somewhere in black mountains which covers basically 3 days worth of travel area given pallys dont have a speedy feets spell/chant that can make thier boots move quicker and traipse all over Mythic's creation here for 20 levels lookin for the stupid thing only when its too late to do any good...can someone who's obviously done this 2nd part since they've done the third part please give some info on where the frig the sorcerer is you are sposed to kill? I like questing but when you're talkin bullcrap reward items that are only gonna wear down to total inability of usage in the next 2 to 3 levels due to the tanking aspect of a pally's fighting for xp (fighter types equipment and magical items get beat to crap at an ALARMING fast rate while caster types rarely if ever (if they are good) get hit in melee so all their items and equipment NEVER wear out cause they never take a beatin) which btw something really needs to be done, as it stands to be a melee type in this game is worse than 2 full time jobs in rl cause your gonna be CONSTANTLY having to buy equip/weapons (or make them) or keep "popping" equip to replace everything falling apart on you while the caster just relaxes and enjoys the game to the fullest, not even having to replace a single item aside from maybe a staff if he/she used that same staff since lvl 4 or 5 (or earlier) otherwise they will never have to replace a single thing nothin will ever fall apart on them...sorry for the ***** session, ive only been searching for ONE good site that has the info you need and listed in an order that you dont spend 4 days looking thru all the JUNK about so-n-so and their nice pretty screen shot (log on the damn game and you'll see all the screen shot you would care to see right at your figertips) and stupid pop-up windows of junk about voting for which strategy you think is best for this and that class..puke..cause i've yet to see anyone hit any of the classes on the head for max efficiency on how to play it...cant tell you the number of posts i've read about going the sword route or going the twohanded route, has our entire race really given in to mass-stupidity on such a vast level...why can't people understand if you hit for 10 one time per second is better than hitting for 20 one time per 2 seconds when you consider the missing/fumble and the bonus damage chants that will add more damage to EVERY hit thus doubling the added damage if you use something quicker, and have they forgot the shield and blocking blows?! How bad will they feel when they swing that big ol two hander there one time per 10 minutes (exaggeration) only to get blocked by a shield while gettin hit twice, even if they parried one and the other blocked their one, they still got hit by the second so tell me if ya both at 1 hp which route would you choose...dont answer that most people i've seen and read posts on chose the two hander like a big ole dumb ***...please just the facts, drop the input when it's totally false info, and you people running the website, one word...accountability! SCREEN THE STUFF dont let the BS junk false lies on things into your site, i've tested things and found that 75-80% of everything on this site is totally false info, or exact opposite info (ie if they say here it's west of such-n-such, its really EAST of such-n-such...these info sites are sposed to be HELPful sites not lemme send ya on some 5 hour wild goose chase thru the forests for nothin...

just some thought lol, prolly wont even make it on the board (cause im right, as i USUALLY (not always) am)

Why dont you maintan this web site for US and see wow easy it is.

They come out with a new patch once or more per month that makes the Info you have almost useless.

    # Jan 14 2002 at 9:09 AM Rating: Decent
my god if your not the biggest, long winded idiot ive ever seen! just a thought: look at your sidequest log.....and PAY ATTENTION to your trainer when they speak! it gives CLEAR directions to find amano! goto the twin towers and ask a guard! they point you right up the hill.....you cant miss him!
and as for the swinging thing....your way wrong. all damage buffs add to your DPS not a fixrd amount. im a 2h pally, my friends a 1h pally. he hits faster than me, but i hit harder. he hits for an average of 25-30, i hit for 50-70. then there's out chant. it adds aboyt 15 points to him, whereas mines 25 (this is an average) the weapon buffs add to the DPS of a weapon, so the better the DPS, the more you hit. weve done a test too. we both grabbed a blue mob at lvl 25 and soloed it. i killed mine faster than he did, but was 3/4 life. he killed his about 30 seconds later, full life. he swings about .5 seconds faster, but i hit harder, and ive noticed i crit a little more then he does. when we group...we take out reds. he protects me with shield and absorbs the punisment while we both twist. we have no downtime and we gain a lvl every 3-4 hrs. as for tromping thru the wilds of the game. either deal with it, or play a minstrel or theurgist if you dont like running. it's a fact of the game. if you dont like it, dont play it! that and pay more attention to your subquests and trainers when they speak. i bet you just clicked through the dialogue just to get the quest. also, these boards are set up so the PLAYERS set info up. if they hadto scren everything, they'd never ever have time to maintain it! we, as other players can, and usually do, correct the mistakes with posts. just quit yer whining and go post and correct it if it's wrong! and another thing. i can always see why yer gear is falling apart. with an attitude like that....who would wanna make you some armor or repair it for you! hell, i have 4-5 good friends in game that hook me up with weapons/armor AT or below cost, and repair it free too! why? cause i help them out with info and quests. i dont just sit there and whine that it's getting trashed. i give em my old stuff, they salvage it, and make me newer, better gear. we all gotta deal with it. like you said. casters got it easy. go play one
