DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

This quest is a follow up to "Evening the Odds" You *MUST* have good lammia faction, and have completed that quest to do "Orcs and Spellbooks. Speak with Veena on the southeast cornet of Inishail Island, at loc 50000,49000

6) The first thing you need to kill is an orc soothsayer. These are blue-orange to 50. Travel north-west through (or around) the lake. Once you hit the opposite shore veer slightly left towards the buildings in the
distance (loc=12800,18800). This is the orc camp, remember it well. Kill enough soothsayers until you get the avalonian tome in your backpack.

7) Return to the Veena at 50k, 49k

8) Now you have to go kill a buzzing nuisance. They are just east of where you killed the orc soothsayer (Loc=25400, 14000) . Yellow-orange con to 50. Keep killing them until you get the stinger you need.

9) Return to the Veena at 50k, 49k

10) Now you have to kill the big bad boss, Chieftain Toca. He is in the large building near where you killed the orc soothsayer, surrounded by a number of helpers. You will need a good group to do this. Clear the adds first, but don't touch the soothsayers near the boss until you are ready to fight him. This is a casting boss, he has all sorts of terrible AE spells that will kill your group if you don't engage him in melee right away.
(another submitted note on the Chieftan: Chieftan is hard, may need a full group. He has a nasty ae poison DoT spell. He is in biggest central hut in village, and surrounded by bodyguards. Recommend pulling mobs around the hut entrance, then pulling the one just inside the entrance, then pull ones around him. When he begins to cast ae DoT, get a tank on him to interrupt him, while others kill adds, then get on chief. I am unsure if it is insta cast ae DoT, if it is, then just all kill adds first, then get back on chief. Need good healers to deal with DoT and healing tanks.)

After you kill him, return to Veena at 50k 49k and get your reward.

Tips for the last fight
# Mar 18 2004 at 11:38 AM Rating: Decent
Here are some tips for the last fight:

- If you have people with ToA abilities like healing fields or power fields, set them up in the center of the tent.

- You can do this with less than one group, but one full group is suggested. I would suggest two healers, but if you only have one make sure that you have a lot of melee'rs to take him down quickly.

- Toca doesn't seem to be affected by magic that much. We melee'd him to death while our casters took out the adds.

- Toca will heal himself when you get him under 1/3 life. You need to keep on him and just continue to melee. Eventually he'll go down.

[Our group killed him with 2 Minstrels, 3 Clerics (1 bot), 1 Paladin, 2 Necros]
groups for Toca

Toca is hard, but certainly doable with one group, or less...tonight we killed him with 2 paladins, a necro, a wizard (fire), a reaver, an inf, and a bot cleric....we had the casters take care of the oj mobs toca summoned, i think it was 2 or 3 over the duration of the battle. As long as you keep melee on him, his spells dont seem to take much effect. he does dot occaisionally, but the aoe range is fairly small...we just kept the necro, wizard, and cleric back out of spell range, and blasted away at him.
Mercenary reward stats ?

I was looking at quest rewards, few Q's
1. What are the stats in mercenary chain tunic?
2. In which patch forward the Inishail Island zone comes in game?

Thanks beforehand ;)

Make sure your pets don't get deathblow on this guy or you'll have to kill him again.
tough last step

I cannot stress enough that you need a cleric or two in your group to take down this chieftain, otherwise he will kill a full group easily with his AE DOT.

He also drops stuff of his own, I saw something called Chieftain Toca's Legs but not sure what that was.

When doing this quest with a group you need to remember that you have to be right up on the creature when it dies to get the item. Tested this out about 10 times and it works every time if the person is close to the creature upon death and never if they are to far - spell distance of about 500 yards is to far away. So just before it dies run up right to it if you are a caster to make sure you get the item.
