If you play on Mordred or Gaharis, you will follow the Albion version of this quest.

You will find Oktava at loc= 37899, 49507

Oktava says, "Greetings traveler, welcome to Ruinerar Atlantis. I am Oktava, Shadowblade in training. You have traveled very far to get to where you stand now. Have you journeyed here to [become a hero] as all others have? "

Oktava says, "I have seen many travel great distances to attempt these trials that we know so little of, but I have seen only a few return. My father is one of the [aspiring heroes] who has yet to come home."

Oktava says, "It seems like ages ago that he told me he was going to venture into those treacherous lands to pursue his dream of becoming a hero. He left shortly after telling me, despite the great risk and my pleading with him not to go. I have not heard from him or had any word of him [since he left]. "

Oktava says, "I plan to travel into Atlantis myself to search for him. It is necessary that I learn of his fate for my peace of mind. I was going to wait until I became a seasoned rogue, as it is much too dangerous for an apprentice such as myself, but I recently [learned] of something that may help me."

Oktava says, "I was told a tale of a strange belt which grants the wearer limited invisibility. With my maturing skills the belt would be ideal to allow somewhat safe travel into Atlantis. I am unable to fetch this item myself though as my father charged Sverre with my supervision, so he never lets me out of his [sight]."

Oktava says, "If you obtained the belt for me though, I would be able to sneak away, and then venture into Atlantis in search of my father. I truly miss my father, and I must learn of his whereabouts. Would you please [assist me]?"

Will you aid Oktava in obtaining the belt? [Level 24]
You have been given the A Daughter's Journey quest.

Oktava says, "Thank you so much! I may be able to learn something of my father's trip into Atlantis with your help. I will be able to set out on my journey once I [have the belt]."

Oktava says, "An old man named Guddrik, who used to be the captain of a fleet of ships destined for Atlantis, told me of this belt. He was very adventurous in his youth, and he will tell his tales to anyone who [cares to listen]."

Oktava says, "Speak with Guddrik, he can be found near the dock. I am sure someone of his expertise will have a map that can aid you in this search. He may also have an idea of the last known whereabouts of this belt."

[Step #2] Seek out Orvyn and tell him that you are seeking the [belt of invisibility]. He can be found down by the dock.
  • Guddrik is located down on the docks at loc= 31897, 44260

  • Guddrik says, "Ah, you are a treasure hunter of sorts. I have seen many things in my time, and heard much lore in my travels that can aid those like you. I may have some stories, maps, and bits of advice that may assist you in the search for this [strange item]. "

Guddrik says, "The story goes that there was an Atlantean spell crafter who made a belt to grant complete invisibility to the wearer to aid him in the trials. The belt was defective though, as it only worked for very short periods of time and it would not work if the wearer engaged in combat. He was unable to make the repairs to make it function as he envisioned it, so he tossed it out as junk in [frustration]."

Guddrik says, "It was then discovered many years later by an explorer, who knew this was not an ordinary item. He wanted to study the belt and unlock any magic it held, so he packed it into a treasure chest, broke the key into three pieces, and hid the pieces of the key on his ship to avoid anyone stealing his loot. He then set out for Atlantis for more [exploring]."

Guddrik says, "A terrible fate befell him and his crew that day though, as there was a treacherous storm, and his ship crashed into one of the nearby islands. The treasure chest was lost, and the three pieces of the key [scattered throughout] Ruinerar Atlantis."

Guddrik says, "It is rumored that the crew and two of the key pieces were devoured by the malicious barracudas Filch and Gorger, which have menaced the local waters for many years. They saw the shiny objects descending into the ocean depths and thought they were food, so one snatched one piece of the key up, while the other [swallowed the other] piece of key."

Guddrik says, "The third piece of the key is said to be buried amidst some submerged ruins not far from where Filch and Gorger roam. The treasure chest supposedly washed ashore on one of the [small islands] not far from here."

Guddrik says, "You are going to need to retrieve the pieces of this key to open the chest, but you will need a map to find the island where the chest is. I have many maps that I have charted over the years, but unfortunately, that is a map that I do not have and I am out of supplies to make the [map]. "

Guddrik says, "I am not as able-bodied as I once was so I started mapmaking as a hobby. For that reason, I find myself with little or no supplies as I am unable to collect many of the ingredients needed to make my maps. I always run out of cloth, which is what I use to make the maps, and octopus ink, which is what I use to label and [chart] them. "

Guddrik says, "I do have a preference as to the types of materials needed, although it is not what I always have on hand. The ink must be obtained from a reef octopus, as that is the only ink that works well on cloth. The cloth that I prefer can only be found on some of the obeboddoklan men. Their cloth seems to be more durable, although I sometimes barter with Driva, one of the armor merchants in town, for any [extra cloth] she has."

Guddrik says, "Go speak with Driva to see if she has any extra cloth to spare, and then collect an ink sack from a reef octopus. The reef octopus can be found right offshore to the southeast of the dock. Driva can be found close by, in the marketplace where the merchants have their tents set up."

[Step #3] Speak with Driva. She can be found in the market place where the merchants have their tents set up.
  • Driva is the hat merchant in Ruinerar av Atlantis, ask Driva for some [spare cloth] for Guddrik.

  • Driva says, "I take it he is out of mapmaking supplies again. I do happen to have some extra cloth to spare, but I ask that you run an errand for me in [return]."

Driva says, "I am out of sewing needles, and with business being so well due to all of the visitors passing through, I have not had any time to [collect] any."

Driva says, "The secret to the fine quality of my wares is that I use sand skimmer stingers. They make perfect needles, as I can sew the most delicate of materials and stitch the most intricate [designs]."

Driva says, "If you can kill a sand skimmer and remove it's stinger for me I will give you some spare cloth for [Guddrik]."

Driva says, "Some sand skimmers are located directly offshore to the southwest. They can be found down in the depths lurking amongst the seaweed. The waters are quite treacherous so you may want to take a friend or two with you. Good hunting to you."

[Step #4] Kill a sand skimmer for its stinger. Some can be found offshore to the southwest of Driva.
  • You will find sand skimmers around loc=31256, 50303

  • [Step #5] Kill a reef octopus for a Reef Octopus Ink Sac. Some can be found to the southeast of the dock just past the sand skimmers and kelp forest.
  • Found the reef octopus around loc=38515, 56257

  • [Step #6] Return to Driva with the Sand Skimmer Stinger.

Driva says, "Were you able to collect a sand skimmer stinger for me?"
  • Hand Driva the Sand Skimmer Stinger.

  • Driva says, "Thank you, this will do nicely. Here is the spare cloth that I promised you. Please give it to Guddrik when you see him. Be well, Thane. "
You receive a Bundle of Spare Cloth from Driva!

[Step #7] Return to Guddrik with the Bundle of Spare Cloth and Reef Octopus Ink Sac.

Guddrik says, "Welcome back, traveler. Were you able to collect my map components? Please hand me the cloth first."

[Step #8] Hand Guddrik the Bundle of Spare Cloth.

Guddrik says, "Well, it is not the quality of the cloths woven by the obeboddoklan, but it will work just the same. Now, please hand me the ink sac. "

[Step #9] Hand Guddrik the Reef Octopus Ink Sac.

Guddrik says, "Thank you, this is perfect. It will do quite well for [charting the map] to the island. "

Guddrik says, "I cannot work while someone stands over me, and the mapping process will take me awhile, so you should find the broken pieces of the key in the [meantime]."

    [Step #10] Speak with Guddrik.

Guddrik says, "Return to me once you find the pieces of the key as the map will be finished at that time. I can give you another old map to aid you in the search for the key. It is old but it will help you locate the areas of the ruins and those dreadful [barracudas]."

Guddrik says, "Filch and Gorger will put up a vicious fight so you should take a friend or two with you. Just because these are local waters does not mean they are safe. There is quite a bit of danger lurking around waiting for those like you. Safe travels to you."
You receive Guddrik's Dusty Old Map from Guddrik!

[Step #11] USE the map to locate the ruins where the first piece of the key is buried.

You attempt to use Guddrik's Dusty Old Map.
The map shows a drawing of a podium surrounded by columns submerged in the water north of the loading area on the dock. There is an arrow pointing east past the podium to another set of ruins. There is an archway amidst those ruins that is broken in the center with an X on the seafloor under the arch. This area appears to be almost halfway around the island from the dock.

[Step #12] /Search the area of Sunken Ruins for the key. If you get lost USE the map again.
  • You can find the Sunken Ruins at loc=50031, 32013

  • You receive the Main Part of a Broken Key!

[Step #13] USE the map to locate Filch and Gorger.
You attempt to use Guddrik's Dusty Old Map.
There is a sketch of a kelp forest to the east, southeast of the Sunken Ruins. There is an X placed inside the kelp. To find the Sunken Ruins go to the submerged podium that is north of the loading area on the dock, then head east.

[Step #14] Kill Filch and Gorger to obtain the last two pieces of the key. If you get lost USE the map again.
  • You can find Filch and Gorger at loc=54871, 33801. Kill them to get the key pieces, this will bring you to Step #17. Filch will drop the Third Part of a Broken Key and Gorger will drop the Second Part of a Broken Key. Both drops will appear in your inventory.

  • [Step #17] USE the Main Part of the Broken key to repair the Explorer's Key.

You attempt to use the Main Part of a Broken Key.
You attach the Main Part of the Broken Key to the other pieces fixing the Explorer's Key.

[Step #18] Return to Guddrik to receive the finished map.

Guddrik says, "Welcome back. What perfect timing, as I just finished charting the map for you. I must now tell you why I do not keep maps of the small islands surrounding Ruinerar Atlantis, as my conscience will get the better of me if I do not tell you. I cannot send you off without [proper warning]."

Guddrik says, "The chest that you seek is on an island inhabited by the hostile obeboddoklan tribe. The obeboddoklan clan has managed to find their way into Ruinerar Atlantis and take up camp on the [surrounding islands]."

Guddrik says, "It is not safe to venture to the small islands anymore since the migration of these beings. This is why I do not chart these areas anymore, as it is best to keep everyone out of [harms way]."

Guddrik says, "The obeboddoklan are not the most quick-witted of beings, but you should know that they are an inhospitable sort, and are quite ill-tempered at that. Toglos and Uros are chieftain brothers, and they rule the clan. They are both of an extremely ill-disposed nature and will not be pleased to see strangers in their [territory]."

Guddrik says, "Their guards will attack as soon as you step foot in their camp. You will not be able to defeat Toglos or Uros while their guards are alive, as they keep their chiefs hidden. Luckily for you, the brothers inhabit different islands, so if you are careful you will only have to deal with one or the other. The obeboddoklan are a formidable clan so you must recruit a few friends to go with you on this [voyage]."

Guddrik says, "If I were younger I would accompany you myself, as I could certainly use some of the sturdy woven cloth they have, but alas I cannot, as I am not as daring as I once was. I must settle on receiving the cloth from anyone that can get their hands on it, and then I reward them as I see fit. Enough of my tired old [rambling] though, as you must be on your way."

You receive Guddrik's Local Map from Guddrik!

Guddrik says, "I hope you reach the chest safely and that this map serves as a sufficient guide. Please remember to be wary of the obeboddoklan and do not lose the map. Be well and safe travels to you."

[Step #19] USE the map to find the island the chest is on. Do not lose the map.

You attempt to use Guddrik's Local Map.
displays the sketch of an island to the north, northwest of the loading area of the dock in Ruinerar Atlantis. There are some sketches of little creatures with claws placed in many spots on the island. There is a drawing of a tree on the island with an X under it.

  • Note: The map might also point you towards the other obeboddoklan chieftain brother, Uros. To find Uros's island, just go southwest from the dock. You'll see a low-lying island soon. There'll you'll find the same set-up: The chest, the guards, etc. Everythnig works the same way. - submitted by Vandring
