Go to Arliss in Camelot and pick (continue) and then (conundrum).

He will ask you to see Livyn (sp?) in Humberton (She's upstairs in the castle outside)

(Go to humberton by takeing the north gate out, it's alot quicker than taking a horse and then walking)

Livyn will ask you to make two items (adamantium reinforced llamelar boots and gloves) The gloves go to Malpheus in Ludlow (in the in on the second floor, last door on the left) and Dwight Edwards (in Cotswold, in the inn, back room, first floor)

Dwight will tell you to tell Livyn he said thank you (go back to Livyn and say (Dwight said thank you)

Return to Arliss for your reward.

I got the "smarter" item. A 19 charge item that helps increase your skill up by 8%.

Reward:
  Well-made Skinning Knife

Alb - 800 Armor Crafting Quest

The quest for armor crafters is essentially identical to the quest for tailors, with two notable exceptions. The text is slightly different, and the items you are required to make are different. For the AC quest, you are required to make Improved Mithril Gloves, and Improved Mithril Boots, and like the tailor quest, the items must be of at least 96% quality.

To simplify things, I make a macro to handle all the text responses. My macro looks like this.

/macro quest /s proceed errands do them armor thank you gift smarter want

This macro will handle all the necessary responses to npc text, with the result that you receive a Well-Made Armorsmith's Knife, which gives a bonus of 8% to the chance for a skill-up and has 19 charges, just like the one received for the tailor quest. Like the tailor quest, you can also receive items which increase the quality of the item made, or decrease the time required for making an item. I do not use those two items, so if you need them, you will have to discover the appropriate text for yourself.

To begin the quest, go to Camelot and find Loraine Elgen, Armorsmiths Master, who is located at 25497, 17824. This is the building in the southeast corner of the courtyard around Camelot Castle. Take the stairs to the left inside the building, go up to the second floor, and you will find Loraine. Use the macro (or choose "proceed", "errands", "do them", and accept the Alb - 800 AC Quest.

Next, go out the North Gate of Camelot City, and proceed Northwest to the town of Humberton. Go up to the castle, and up to the second floor. Out on the parapet you will find Livyn. Walk up to her and use the macro (or choose "armor").

Livyn will tell you the items to make and who to give them to. First you are sent to the town of Ludlow, due east from Humberton, to find Malphaeus. He is in the Inn, on the second floor, in the last room on the left in the hallway. Give him the Improved Mithril Gloves. Just drop them on him and leave, it is not necessary to speak or respond to him.

Next you must go to Cotswold Village, at the East Gate of Camelot. I found it quickest to return to the North Gate of Camelot and go through the city to the East Gate, rather than traveling around the city on the outside. Go to the Inn there and find Dwight Edwards, on the first floor in the back room by the fireplace. Drop the Improved Mithril Boots on him and leave. Once again it is not necessary to speak to him.

Return to Humberton Castle and go see Livyn again. Use the macro (or say "thank you"). She will instruct you to return to Camelot to see Loraine Elgin again.

Return to Loraine Elgin in Camelot. Use the macro (or choose "gift", "smarter", "want") to receive the Well Made Armorsmith's Knife.

If you wish to repeat the quest again, use the macro again at this time and repeat the steps above.

Note that the minimum level for this quest is 10, not five. That is also true of the tailor version of the quest. Allakhazam has the minimum level for the quest listed incorrectly. You must also have completed each of the previous tradeskill quests for skill levels 500, 600, and 700 before you will be offered the 800 quest.

Each repetition of the quest takes approximately 20 minutes if you have the Improved Mithril Gloves and Boots made in advance.

Takes approximately 20 minutes to run through this quest if you have the items already made. Since I run this quest several times in succession to get five or six of these tools at a time, I found it a timesaver and convenience to have all the responses in a macro so I did not have to click through the text for each npc. My macro looked like this.

/macro quest /say continue conundrum find someone willing to do this thank you gift smarter want

This macro will get you the well-made skinning knife, which adds 8% (19 charges) to the chance for a skill increase. If you prefer the tool for raising the quality of the piece you make by 2% (8 charges), replace the last two words of the macro, "smarter want", with the words "better desire". If you prefer the tool that allows you to reduce the time it takes to make an item by 19% (80 charges), replace the words "smarter want" at the end of the macro with the words "faster wish".

You only actually need to use the macro to speak to Arliss and Livyn. For the two you give the items to, you just drop the items on them and leave, no need to speak or respond to anything.

August 16, 2004, I attempted to do this quest after having done only the skill level 500 quest previously. I thought the intermediate level quests looked like too much bother and did not wish to mess with them. Arliss would not give me this skill level 800 quest until I went through both the skill level 600 quest (Tarnished tools) and the skill level 700 quest (Crafted tools) so that I had then been through all the lower level quests at least once. Then he allowed me to proceed to the skill level 800 quest (Well-Made tools). As it turned out the intermediate quests were not so onerous as I had feared, especially since I only had to do them once each.

I was not aware there was a porter in Camelot. Would you please give the porter's name and location? Many thanks.

I did this in albion as a weaponcrafter. I also did this in Gothwaite Harbor and got the quest from Grayson Sanion by the Smith there. Don't bother going to a Camelot to do this if you have shrouded isles or trials of atlantis enabled. It's a waste of travelling time. Grayson just asks you to make two adamantium weapons, one adamantium needle mace and one adamantium weighted flail (of 96% quality or better).

Buy the materials from Jacques Tole and make them. Once you've got that accomplished, just head back to Grayson and turn in your items to him in order (needle mace, then flail) and you have the quest completed. No extra travelling around to humberton or ludlow.

I just tried this with my Tailor. First I went to the Tailoring Master in Gothwaite and she wouldn't speak to me. Then I went to Grayson Sanion and he told me he would let me continue with my training (I have over 100 WC) if I told him I was ready to [proceed], but when I clicked/said "proceed" nothing happened.

It's probably great for Weaponcrafters to be able to do that Quest all in Gothwaite, but it doesn't appear to work for Tailors. As far as I can see, Arliss Eadig is the only one who can give that quest.

As with the previous Tailoring quests, the items you make for Malpheus and Dwight need to be 96 quality or higher.

When you return to Livyn, all you really need to say is "thank you" and she will continue her dialogue.
