Dialog from Quest: Speak with Sergeant Lutho at loc=26465,19198,16536 dir=22 The Frontlines. Sergeant Lutho says, "Hello, (your name). Did you come from the Kobold [Undercity]?" Sergeant Lutho says, "It's quite an impressive sight, but it's not the same as home. You see, I come from Nyttheim originally. My brother and I left the city together in search of [help]." Sergeant Lutho says, "We traveled through the Frontlines together, but we were attacked by a band of half-orcs and became separated. I was able to make it to the Kobold Undercity, but I don't know what [became] of him." Sergeant Lutho says, "I joined the Kobold Forces in the Undercity in hopes of finding Jadmir and returning to Nyttheim, but unfortunately, my duties have kept me from the search. Will you help me search for Jadmir?" Will you help Sergeant Lutho find his brother? [Level 27] You have been given the Guarded Hope quest. Sergeant Lutho says, "Thank you for your help, (your name). Once we left Nyttheim, we made our way into a vast cavern that I later learned was called the [Frontlines]. " [Step #1] Speak with Sergeant Lutho about his brother, Jadmir. If Sergeant Lutho stops talking, ask him about his journey with Jadmir through the [Frontlines]. Sergeant Lutho says, "Without any maps or charts, we wandered through the Frontlines, skirting half-orc and gnoll encampments. They seemed disorganized at first, but then we stumbled into a band of half-orcs led by a [chieftain]." Sergeant Lutho says, "We tried to avoid his scouts, but they discovered us. Don't let anyone tell you that half-orcs aren't clever, (your name), for they separated us. I managed to escape, but I was never able to find [Jadmir]." Sergeant Lutho says, "I eventually found my way to this outpost and told these Kobolds my story. Odagi, the leader of the Kobold Undercity, accepted me into the Kobold Forces, and offered his help in the attempt to liberate Nyttheim. He tells me that Spiritmaster Londa may be able to help track down my brother with the use of something Jadmir owned or made. When we were boys, Jadmir carved a small set of stone figurines in the forms of the gods and gave one to each of the children in my family. We've carried them with us [ever since]." Sergeant Lutho says, "It's not like him to go anywhere without his figurine. If I give you mine, you can take it to Spiritmaster Londa and see if she can use it locate my brother. She should be in one of the other tents here in the outpost." You receive a Lutho's Figurine from Sergeant Lutho! [Step #2] Speak with Spiritmaster Londa. She can be found at one of the tents in the Frontlines outpost. Spiritmaster Londa says, "Ah, yes, I've heard about Sergeant Lutho's missing brother. If you possess an object that Jadmir owned or created, it will still have an affinity for his spirit. I can [enchant] it so that it will help the spirits locate its maker." Spiritmaster Londa says, "I see you have a figurine carved by Sergeant Lutho's brother. That will do nicely. Please hold it up in front of you while I [cast the spell]." (your name) holds up Lutho's Figurine while Spiritmaster Londa prepares her spell. Spiritmaster Londa says, "There, the figurine that Sergeant Lutho gave you should glow brightly in the presence of anything crafted by Jadmir. Allow me a moment to consult the spirits and see if they can tell you where to begin your [search]." Spiritmaster Londa casts a spell! Spiritmaster Londa says, "The spirits tell me that Jadmir possessed a figurine similar to the one given you by Lutho, and that he brought it with him on the journey from Nyttheim. When I asked about Jadmir, the spirits would only tell me that they can see the figurine in an area to the south of here, not far from the passage to the Kobold Undercity. The spirits mention a second name in connection with this figurine, 'Kraid.' They do not know who it is or how it is connected to the plight of Jadmir. That is all I can say for now, (your name), but before you go, I must warn you to take care in the [Frontlines]." Spiritmaster Londa says, "This outpost stands in the middle of a war zone. Odagi's first expedition into the Frontlines found it abandoned and in disrepair. At the same time that we reoccupied the outpost, Odagi ordered the construction of Nidavellir's Wall in order to protect the Undercity from the half-orc and gnoll onslaught. Even now, they continue to besiege us here and at the gates of the city. Do not let them catch you off guard, for they are merciless, (your name)." [Step #3] Go east of the outpost to the cavern wall, then travel to the south. When the tunnel toward the Undercity comes into view, look for Kraid to the west.
You attempt to use the Note from Brugar. Caught 'nother blueskin today. Good dinner tonight. Blueskin had small strange rock shaped like god. I keep for luck. You hunt east today, maybe find more blueskins, maybe more lucky rocks. [Step #5] Brugar's note to Kraid seems to indicate that he captured a kobold meeting Jadmir's description. Search for Brugar's camp to the west of the site of your battle with Kraid.
In the ashes of the campfire, you discover a few bone fragments and a figurine matching the one given to you by Lutho. [Step #8] Return to Sergeant Lutho at the Frontlines outpost and hand him Jadmir's Figurine when he asks about your progress. Sergeant Lutho says, "You've returned! Were you able to find Jadmir by tracking the location of his figurine with Spiritmaster Londa's magic?" Hand Sergeant Lutho "Jadmir's Figurine." Sergeant Lutho says, "Yes, this is Jadmir's figurine, but it's a bit scorched. Where did you find it? Was Jadmir [there]?" Sergeant Lutho takes the figurine from you and looks around excitedly. Sergeant Lutho pales as you describe discovering the kobold bones in Brugar's campfire. Sergeant Lutho says, "Bones, that's all that's left of Jadmir? How can I be sure? Wait...Take those bones to Spiritmaster Londa and see if she can identify them as Jadmir's. I have to know for sure." [Step #9] Speak with Spiritmaster Londa about the Charred Kobold Bones. Perhaps she can identify them as the remains of Jadmir. (loc=25k, 22k Frontlines) Spiritmaster Londa says, "Ah, you're back. I hope that the enchantment I placed on the figurine was helpful in your [search] for Jadmir." You describe your run-in with Brugar and your search of his campsite for Spiritmaster Londa. Spiritmaster Londa says, "Yes, I can try to identify the bones. Hand them to me, please." Spiritmaster Londa accepts the the charred kobold bones and begins chanting over them. Spiritmaster Londa casts a spell! Spiritmaster Londa says, "These bones don't belong to Jadmir! The spirits tell me they belonged to a kobold of Nyttheim who had been possessed by evil for a long time when he died. No, Jadmir's spirit still lives. You must tell Sergeant Lutho right away!" [Step #10] Return to Sergeant Lutho in the Frontlines outpost with the news that the bones are those of a possessed kobold and not Jadmir. Sergeant Lutho says, "What did Spiritmaster Londa [say]?" Sergeant Lutho says, "She said they belonged to a possessed kobold? That's both good and bad news. I'm relieved to hear that Jadmir lives, but now that he's lost his figurine, I don't know how I can ever [find him]..." Sergeant Lutho says, "Still, I feel much better knowing that there is still hope that I will one day find him. I must thank you for your efforts. Please accept this [ring]. It safeguarded me on my journey from Nyttheim and perhaps it will do the same for you." [Step #11] Keep speaking to Sergeant Lutho about the [ring] he offered you as a reward. You are awarded 69,358,968 experience! Sergeant Lutho says, "Here is the ring I promised. Spiritmaster Londa tells me that even now, she is working on finding another way to locate Jadmir. Gods willing, someday we'll carry on the fight for Nyttheim together. Be well, (your name)." You are awarded 1 gold and some silver! You receive a Ring of Kinship from Sergeant Lutho! lvl 41 received 69,358,968 experience. Champion lvl received 35 pts.
