Ulorik says, "Welcome to the great Underground Forest! Is it not magnificent? You're probably wondering what an old Kobold of my station is doing out here, so far from our city. In fact, I'm here to recruit help for a mission that is vitally [important] to the war effort."

Ulorik says, "Since we arrived here, the Terracites that dwell within this forest have harassed and attacked our people in an effort to expel us from their home. Now we have received a plea from Chieftain Khurunos himself, begging for an alliance. He has even invited our leaders to a war [council] right here in the Underground Forest."

Ulorik says, "He might be sincere, but if he isn't, we cannot afford to put our leaders at risk. We must know the truth, and this is where you come in. Will you help us investigate the validity of this request for a truce? If this is a trap, we must know right away, and then we will deal with this Khurunos. If the offer for a truce is real, however, then we stand to gain a desperately-needed ally in our war against Gullveig's forces."

"Will you learn the true intentions of the Terracite Chieftain?" [Level 41]
You have been given the Truce or Treachery? (Midgard) quest.

[Step #1] Talk to Ulorik and learn about Chieftain Khurunos' offer for an [truce].

Ulorik says, "Thank you, my friend. I'll reward you for your assistance, of course. Now, we must move quickly! Standing over there with some of our guards, you will find a Terracite defector named Hurrnos. Go and speak to him now, and tell him that you need to know everything he can tell you about Chieftain Khurunos and his offer for a [truce]."

Ulorik says, "When you have learned what you can, return to me and report what Hurrnos has told you. We will then form a plan of action. Go now, and speak to our captive."

[Step #2] Talk to Hurrnos, the Terracite defector, and tell him you would like to [know] more about Chieftain Khurunos.
  • Talk to hurrnos in the camp (loc=15367,14427), can't miss him.

  • Hurrnos says, "Peace to you. I am Hurrnos, and if I can help you to protect us all from the evil sorceress and her armies, I will do so. So you'd like to [know] more about Chieftain Khurunos?"

Hurrnos says, "I know quite a bit about Chieftain Khurunos. I know that he would cut out my heart if he could reach me. My people do not look kindly upon defectors, but my people also fail to grasp the [danger] of the situation."

Hurrnos says, "Most of my people think that the sorceress will stop when she has conquered your realm and then leave us in peace. What fools they are. I know that if you fall, so shall we, which is why I will [aid] you."

Hurrnos says, "I would not trust the Chieftain, but I cannot say for certain that he is lying. However, I know how you can find out. Find Onaru, one of the Chieftain's most trusted aides. Onaru always carries the Chieftain's orders, written on parchment, to our guards and scouts. If you can bring those orders to me, I will translate them, and we will learn of Khurunos' [plans]."

Hurrnos says, "Onaru will die before he allows the Chieftan's orders to be taken, so you will need to kill him. I hope that this helps you - you might want to return to the one called Ulorik, and advise him of what you have learned."

[Step #3] Return to Ulorik and share the information you gathered from speaking with Hurrnos.

Ulorik says, "So, a Terracite lieutenant named Onaru carries a parchment with the Chieftain's orders, eh? Excellent - this is exactly the information we needed. The Chieftain might be lying to us, but he would not lie to his trusted warriors. Of course, if the offer for truce is genuine, we don't want to let the Terracites know that we slew one of their [leaders]."

Ulorik says, "Here - take this bag of trinkets. These items were taken from the bodies of some of Gullveig's soldiers that were slain in battle against us. After you kill Onaru, spread these items around in the area, and the Terracites will believe that Gullveig's agents were behind the [attack]."

You receive the Bag of Trinkets from Ulorik!

Ulorik says, "Now, go and deal with Onaru. Look south of here, just on the other side of this great tree trunk behind me to find him. When you have dispatched him, get the Chieftain's orders from him and bring them back to our friend Hurrnos for translation. Don't forget to spread those trinkets around that I gave you after he is dead!"

[Step #4] Find and kill the Terracite lieutenant Onaru and get the Chieftain's Orders from him. Onaru is due south of Ulorik, on the other side of the huge tree trunk near where Ulorik is standing.
  • Move southwest halfway around the tree to loc=13300,17200 & kill Orunos (baf'd a terracite mold shaman on me too).

  • Onaru grasps the Chieftain's Orders tightly to his chest, even as his last breath leaves him.
You receive the Chieftain's Orders from the Onaru!
    The Onaru dies!
"You pry the Chieftain's Orders from Onaru's hand. Your quest journal has been updated."

[Step #5] Now that Onaru is dead, use the bag of trinkets Ulorik gave you to place false evidence of Gullveig's involvement in the attack. (To use an item, right-click on it and type /use).
  • /use the Bag of Trinkets

  • You attempt to use the Bag of Trinkets.
(your name) scatters the trinkets about the area, emptying the bag.

[Step #6] Take the Chieftain's Orders to Hurrnos so that he can read them.
  • Go back to camp & talk to Hurrnos.

  • Hurrnos says, "Your people work quickly. Hand me the Chieftain's orders, and I will tell you what they say."
  • Give him the Chieftain's Orders.

  • Hurrnos says, "The Chieftain has ordered his guards to escort your realm's ambassadors to a location deep within the Underground Forest, and then slay them. This should be all the proof you need of Khurunos' true intentions. I cannot say that I'm surprised, but it saddens me just the same that the Chieftain is so short-sighted. You had better let Ulorik know right away."

[Step #7] Now that the Chieftain's Orders have been translated, report your findings to Ulorik.
  • Talk to Ulorik in the camp.

  • Ulorik says, "So! Our good Chieftain thinks he can cross us, does he? It looks like there's one more piece of unfinished business to [attend] to."

Ulorik says, "Chieftain Khurunos is due southeast of the area where you fought Onaru. Run around to the opposite side of this large tree trunk behind me and look southeast across the clearing for a large root protruding from the ground. He will be guarded, but my reports tell me that he often wanders from his guards so as to appear courageous to his people. See to it that is the final mistake he makes in this life. Return to me when Chieftain Khurunos has been dispatched, and you shall have your payment."

[Step #8] Kill Chieftain Khurunos as punishment for his treachery. From Ulorik run south, across the clearing and between two large trees. Look southeast to see the Chieftain's camp.
  • Move southwest around the tree and by north side of next tree to south, you'll see Khurunos at approx loc=15600,22900. kill him (doesn't baf).

  • The Chieftain Khurunos dies!

[Step #9] Return to Ulorik to collect your reward.

Ulorik says, "Well done! I suspect the Terracites will think twice about trying to deceive us again. Here's your reward, as promised, and well-earned it is. May the Gods favor you!"

Just finished this on my warlock at level 49, only got 23 mill. Million, not billion. Less than a blue-con mob gives me. Skald in my guild says he got 700 million. No clue why the wide variance as this reports 1.98B xp
