Trainee Romili says, "Ah, what a glorious evening this is! My superiors have finally agreed that I have proven myself worthy of the title of guard. I must say, it is about time they gave me this title, although there is one [little problem]."

Trainee Romili says, "My superiors have told me that only Odagi can grant me the title of guard, so I have to wait until I return to the Undercity to be able to call myself Guard Romili. And with the way things have been lately, who knows when I'll be allowed to head back there. Things have gotten [pretty bad] recently."

Trainee Romili says, "The possessed Kobolds, the gnolls and the half orcs continue to make our lives miserable. It seems like for every battle we win, they win one and take out a few of our best fighters. I know the people [in the Undercity] are trying to help us, but they just don't know what it's like to be down here on the Frontlines."

Trainee Romili says, "I shouldn't say that, Healer. Many of them do know what it's like and they are working harder than ever to help us. In fact, Cerene just gave us the good news that [Leria] and Myrtai may have found a way to break the evil hold that is turning the Kobolds against their brothers and sisters. That news cheered us greatly."

Trainee Romili says, "That Leria, she is quite a Norsewoman! I think she's even prettier than that Lieutenant Njolda, but don't tell Njolda that! She'd be jealous! But I don't think Leria would ever consent to be my wife, since I'm just a lowly guard and she's a powerful runemistress! I need to increase [my reputation] before she'll notice me."

Trainee Romili says, "I have come up with just the way to do that, Healer, but I need some help with it, as usual. I know, I know, it's quite embarrassing even to me that a brave, handsome Norseman like me has to ask for help, but hey, I hear that women like a humble man! So, if you have some time, I have some money. What do you think of [an exchange] of services?"

"Will you help Trainee, er Guard, Romili increase his reputation?" [Levels 46-49]
You have been given the Romili's Reputation (Midgard) quest.

Trainee Romili says, "I am in your debt, Healer. Now, here's my plan. Leria is good friends with Cerene and Myrtai. Cerene told me that Myrtai, who is a spiritmistress, is looking to study the spirits of some of these possessed. She's hoping it will lead to a faster solution to the problem, which I'm all for. She needs someone to [collect these spirits] so she can study them."

Trainee Romili says, "Now, I believe that if I give some of these spirits to Cerene, she'll give them to Myrtai and tell her that I, Guard Romili (okay, almost Guard Romili), retrieved the souls for her. Then Myrtai will tell Leria how helpful and brave I was to go into Nyttheim and get the spirits, and Leria will be impressed. Then when I return to the city, Leria will take the time to really notice me. I know, it's a crazy plan but I believe it [will work]."

Trainee Romili says, "And it will work because of your help, Healer. I can't leave my post, as usual, but you can take this magical stone and trap the spirits of nine maniacal spiritist adepts. Yes, I know it's a lot but according to Cerene, Myrtai [needs enough] of their spirits to be able to study them properly."

Trainee Romili says, "According to Cerene, when you trap three spirits in this stone, it will start to glow. Another three will make it luminous, and the final three will make it refulgent. That's when you bring it back to me and I will pay you for the stone. Here it is, Healer. The maniacal spiritist adepts can be found in the main cavern of Nyttheim. They are all over, so you shouldn't have to look too hard for them. Now, hurry, before they send me back to the Undercity!"

You receive the Dull Stone from Trainee Romili!

[Step #2] Venture into Nyttheim to its main cavern and defeat nine maniacal spiritist adepts to obtain their souls. Make sure you have the Dull Stone with you.
  • port to Nyttheim & look for the mobs around the entrance of the large cave (locs approx 27000,23700 and to the left & right of there), and kill 9 of those.)

  • You trap the first spirit of a maniacal spiritist adept in the Dull Stone.
    The maniacal spiritist adept dies!
(do this 8 more times) As you collect the last spirit from the maniacal spiritist adept, the stone suddenly turns refulgent.
    The maniacal spiritist adept dies!

[Step #3] Return to Trainee Romili at the outpost in the Frontlines.
  • go back to frontlines camp and talk to Romili.

  • Trainee Romili says, "Well, Healer, do you have my Refulgent Stone for me? I've had to switch shifts twice to keep them from sending me back to the Undercity without that stone. Please give it to me now."
  • Give him the Refulgent Stone

  • Trainee Romili says, "Thank you, Healer. I will hand this over to Cerene shortly, give her some time to get it to Myrtai, and then let my superiors know I'm ready to go be made a full guard. Here's the money I owe you for the stone, Healer. Guard Romili thanks you for your help!"

    You are awarded 945,000,000 experience!
You are awarded 1 gold and some silver!
