I know epics are supposed to be hard so its worth the reward you earn...but why does it seem just a little unfair that at 46.5 these Templars are red and purple even... Is there a certain way to kill them that I am missing? How the heck am I supposed to finish the level 43 quest? Just whining...sorry all :( Tried this 3 times the other night with a friend and had no luck at all completing it...

After I completed all Paladin Epics, I have gone back into Barrows and Templar is once again nuetral and does not attack.

I like so many of my fellow Paladins took on this quest. I liked playing in the Barrows but after taking this quest the Templar and his Ladies attack you every time they see you. I did find out that if you go to Hadriens Wall and kill Pictish Warriors and Druids, who when you first start killing them are nuetral, your standing with the Coventina increases, which is the faction for the Templars. I killed enough Pictish Warriors to turn them aggressive toward me. I have not been able to kill a Templar yet but maybe after I do he will be nuetral again. Loron, 46th level Paladin

useless quest

I find it pretty useless to have had to do a quest that makes a major wandering monster in a good killing place become aggressive. And the rings given for paladin and cleric are a waste. How sad is that. It's a shame it has to be done to get to the other quests. I have heard that you can kill monsters to better your standing with him, but to what avail. As someone said, the place you have to go to do that is very dangerous itself. Plus, how do you know when you've killed enough monsters to make him neutral again. I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't go in there and get close enough to him to find out whether or not I'm in good standings with him again. It's a shame too, still had a lot of killing and exploring left to do in the henge.

"I wouldn't go in there and get close enough to him to find out whether or not I'm in good standings with him again." Okay, see that little thing in your right hand? Yeah, that's called a mouse. Put the cursor over the mob and press down with your index finger. Good boy. Now, does the status window say aggresive, hostile, or neutral? Exactly. Just had to point that out. And even if you can't go into the Barrows again, that still leaves, what, Lyonesse, Avalon City, Cornwall, Dartmoor, dare I go on? The quest is required for anyone wanting their epic armor and your options are everything but crippled by doing this quest. So don't whine without considering your options.

If you travel to Hadrian's wall after you have completed the quest, you can kill Picts to gain favour with the Templar.
Of course, it might not be worth the effort, it's RvR land and soon enough (level 46?) you'll be able to kill the Templar quite easily anyway with a couple of friends.

You can restore your faction with Templars so they may be neutral to you again. It works for other mobs too. You have to kill a templar then check message about faction increase. Look for those creatures which you gained fraction with and kill them. When you kill enemies of Templars you will get better and better standing with them and finaly you would achieve neutral status. After killing right mob type it will say that: Your standing (fraction) with Templar Avengers has increased. Or something similiar. I think that they have enemies in Pennine Mts. maybe trolls - not sure now. Check yourself.

After completing this stupid quest the Templar in Barrows is permanent aggressive to me
Is there a way to restore to normal that stupid Templar neutral?
This quest is completely useless
Your only TRUE reward is a permanent permission to be killed often in Barrows

"near vigilant souls" What? I may be mistaken, but last I checked this happens at the Echos Skellys, Just beyond the Soul Harvesters. I helped a Guildmate with this. We were a group of 5 ranging from 42 to 47 and we all died once during the battle. I am off to do this later tonight. (percival 9 pm pacific if you care to join in)

So is there a reward for this quest for a Paladin or is it just there so you can pass ont to the lvl 45 one? Seems kind of like a waste of time if there's no reward :(

The ring you get for a reward is utter crap, and you get left with a stone that seems to have no purpose. Snafu

RE: Bertie ?
# May 04 2002 at 12:52 AM Rating: Default
Bertie is located at the very top of Swanton Keep in a room by himself. If you go to the top of the stairs on the right side as you enter the keep and open that first door, there is a ladder that goes up to Bernie.

Please be aware that when you get this quest from your Trainer, you will not be able to explore the Barrows without the Templar Avenger or the Priestesses of Purity attacking you. My group found out the hard way. They will attack you on sight or even out of sight in my case.HeHe.
