DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

Speak with Lieutenant Kjarin in Ft. Veldon, loc=45438,7545 Vale of Mularn.

Story:
Greetings (Your Class), you will encounter a wide variety of spells in your travels, both granted by the gods we worship and those used by our enemies. Many spells are designed to augment abilities, heal allies, and to deliver devastating damage upon enemies. However, there are a few spells with a unique purpose, which are capable of turning the tide of battle is used correctly. I am referring to the arts of immobilization and control.

Summary:
Speak with Glirun, Saini, Aliana, Larmar, and Reini on the southern edge of Fort Veldon and learn about crowd control.

Quest Goal: Speak with Glirun the Skald.

Glirun says, "So you wish to learn the ways of control and immobilization, eh? Well my friend, you've certainly come to the right place. My first lesson will be in Mesmerization, or [mezz] as the young lads and lasses are calling it these days."

Quest Goal: Learn about the effects Mesmerization.

Glirun says, "You are now Mezzed. This means that you are unable to move, turn , or cast. This spell will be broken the instant you take damage from an enemy realm player. The effect can also be dispelled bu certain classes in your realm. When you advance in your training, you will come across certain abilities, open to yourself or to others, that will reduce or dispel this Crowd Control effect."

Quest Goal: Speak with Saini the Spiritmaster.

Saini says, "Good day, friend. I see that you've familiarized yourself with the powerful ways of the Mezz. My specialty is Rooting. I will demonstrate a [root] to you at this time."

Quest Goal: Learn about the effects Root.

Saini says, "This spell is a snare which will immobilize you. However, you will retain your ability to turn, cast and communicate with your Realm Mates. Like a mezz, this spell will be broken the instant damage is taken and can also be dispelled bu certain classes in your realm. Once the root begins to fade, you will be able to move again. However, you shall remain hindered until the spell has worn off entirely."

Quest Goal: Speak with Aliana the Healer.

Aliana says, "I shall provide you with a demonstration of the powerful [stun] ability."

Quest Goal: Learn about the effects of Stun.

Aliana says, "While stunned you are completely immobile. You may not cast, turn, move, or attack. A stun cannot be dispelled by any realm mates and does not break on damage. however, as you progress, you may train certain abilities which remove or reduce the effect."

Quest Goal: Speak with Larmar the Runemaster.

Larmar says, "My objective is to teach about the power and benefits of [nearsight]."

Quest Goal: Learn about the effects of Nearsight.

Larmar says, "When you are nearsighted, you suffer a mitigation to your effective cast range. That is to say, the listed range from which you are able to cast a particular spell, heal, or fire a ranged weapon is reduced by a specific percentage. This percentage is a function of the power of the nearsight spell that is cast upon you. The higher the level of the spell, the greater the value of the reduction penalty. Quite a valuable spell id I do say so myself!"

Quest Goal: Speak with Reini the Shaman to learn about Disease.

Reini says, "I shall conclude your Crowd Control lesson by instructing you about [disease]."

Reini says, "Being diseased whilst in combat prevents you from regenerating health automatically. This effect will also significantly reduce the effectiveness of any heal spell cast upon you, and will weaken you, reducing your run speed and strength. When diseased in a combat situation, it's very important that you seek a healing class to aid you by curing your disease. Additionally, as you progress you are able to train specific abilities which will cure your disease as well. Having said that, this concludes your training. Best of luck to you!"

Quest Goal: Return to Lieutenant Kjarin.

Story:
I hope that you have learned their lessons well, (Your Class). Knowing how your enemies will seek to stop you is key to being able to thwart their attempts to do so.
