DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

Ula mentions that the guards and sentinels are hunting down a certain
Stalker. She asks if you would be willing to assist in a mildly nefarious deed. Upon accepting, she instructs you to speak with a Lurikeen tracker, and attempt to trick him into giving you a note intended for someone else. She then tells you that, once you have the letter, you should deliver it to someone named Achaius, located either
in Tir na mbeo or Ardee.

The tracker is due West, directly across the road; he is wearing red armor, and is named simply "Tracker". Upon speaking with him, he tells you that you look like a Stalker; he asks if you are [here to aid] or if you are [a Stalker]. Choose [here to aid]; choosing [a Stalker] will fail the quest and requires starting over. He gives you a letter to deliver to a guard in green armor, located at the guard post near Tir na mbeo; DO NOT do this, as the quest will fail.

The quest info tells you to deliver it to someone in Howth or Ardagh. Achaius is, in fact, a wandering weapons merchant; he travels between Mag Mell (you'd think the tracker would notice... hard to find good help...) and Ardee. He never reaches Mag Mell, but stops short and heads back North. Deliver it to him for your reward.

Helpful hints:
You trick the tracker into giving you the letter, and then you give it to someone else.

If you got the quest in the south, you give it to Twm, who runs off because he is being hunted. He's the LARGE guy outside the round building with the two lovers in ARDAUGH.

If you got the quest in the north, you give it Achius, who can be found hiding (ok, standing, but he's a lurikeen) out on the outskirts of TNBeo near the horse seller. Achius is actually in one of the corners of the Tavern in Ardee, outside. As soon as I gave him the letter, he started sprinting towards Mag Mell.

Ok, you all are just not reading the damned direction. You trick the tracker into giving you the letter, and then you give it to someone else.

If you got the quest in the south, you give it to Twm, who runs off because he is being hunted. He's the LARGE guy outside the round building with the two lovers in ARDAUGH.

Yes - just tried it and he was in TNBeo by the horse seller. He runs off after you give him the letter, which may explain why he's not always there

You can simply habd the leter to the Firbolg guardian at the Mardagh tower. That will end the quest. No exp.

Thing is that i don't have the letter anymore. The journal says that i don't have any pending quests.

You can't, you have to finish it or ignore it.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 15 2002 at 6:58 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'm a level 3 Lurikeen Stalker on Excalibur. I agree that this is a stupid quest, and seems rather underworked. But I think I know why.

I started playing in Albion and have 2 chars that are 24+ there. Albion was much more friendly when it came to getting into guilds than Mid or Hibernia have been. Granted, people in Hibernia BRIBE YOU to help them form guilds (EVERY TIME I'VE MADE A CHAR THERE), then rarely is anyone from that guild around or willing to hunt with you.

In Albion, I had a level 1 char that was immediately allowed to join a guild that didn't know me and everyone in the guild was friendly and helpful.
A Matter of Opinion

Just because you were allowed into a guild at first dosen't always mean its the best choice.

I also started playing in Albion (Scout Baby Yeah!) and was a guildless character till I was almost 16th. As it is, when I went to Hibernia, I was guilded to Taar Isteach (Percival) at around 8 or 9th.

It's all a matter of Opinion and circumstance.

Hunting high and low
# May 16 2002 at 11:03 PM Rating: Default
I've searched all over Ardagh and Howth (as instructed) with no success. Not one resident has escaped the elf ranger shoving a letter under thier noses!

Where do I try now? Someone suggested the Abbey at Yew. Sounds as good a plan as any...
location was wrong

I foudn this guy in tir na mBeo in the northwest corner. he then walked off north, but I could never find him in Ardee.
STUCK

I have tried giving the letter To Achaius in Tirnambeo. The quest log says the recipient is in either TirnamBeo or Ardee. I have tried giving the letter to EVERY NPC in both of those towns and no one wants it. I have also tried giving it to the green clad guardians and sentinels stretching from Howth to Ardee and none of them want it either. Any suggestions?
READ!
# Apr 12 2002 at 10:01 AM Rating: Default
You have to READ to be able to do alot of these quests. Dont flame a quest just beceause you clicked through the quest dialog hopeing your journal would tell you exactly what to do!

They tell you in the biginning of the quest who your spose to take the letter to, and if you didnt read it and cant figure it out then its your own problem.

Quests arnt about getting alot of XP or money or great items. Quests are about the thrill of the hunt. If you cant understand this just avoid them.
All you need to know
# Apr 11 2002 at 8:13 PM Rating: Default
This quest is a lesson in thinking like a thief (ok, stalker, same idea). If the journal told you exactly what to do, it would ruin the quest and the story entirely.

Twm is located in Ardagh. If you can't find him, someone else just did the quest and you need to wait for the respawn.
Achaius wanders, but his main spawn point is Tir na mBeo. Go there and wait for him, or stop in once in a while, and you will find him eventually.

There are 2 versions of this quest. One uses Twm, the other Achaius. Pay attention. Take the time to read, and you will be successful. Blindly clicking keywords will get you nowhere fast.
Worst quest in game
# Apr 11 2002 at 1:37 AM Rating: Default
I believe this quest is designed to discourage people from doing quests. It is frought with mistakes, (all guardians wear green cloaks, there are no guard posts), it is illogical (you deceive yourself in your own quest journal?), it is often broken (you can't give letter to proper "deceptive" target). On top of that, you could earn 10 times the experience hunting in the time it takes to do the quest and get 2 measly bubbles.

It's as Mythic is having a joke on us. "Ha ha, tricked you into wasting two hours in boredom and frustration!"

If you don't have the intelligence to read what the quest tells you to do, you shouldn't be doing quests. Don't come here and ***** about a quest just because YOU didn't get it.
Sucky quest
# Mar 11 2002 at 10:20 PM Rating: Default
This quest sucks. I spent all my money to get a horse to howth to try and find the person who i was supposed to give the letter to. I tried to give every single person in howth and ardagh the letter and no one wanted it. I finally failed when i gave the letter to some gaurdian at the tower between howth and ardagh. What a ak;wing waste of time!
Help
# Feb 08 2002 at 1:57 PM Rating: Default
I failed this one the first time by giving to the guardian in green armor (as told by the tracker) instead of giving to Achaius in Tir na mBao or Ardee (as directed by my trainer who gave me the quest.) The journal kinda screws you up because it doesnt make note of who you are lookin' for. I made my own notes and completed the quest successfully the second time around.
Quest Broken?
# Mar 04 2002 at 7:28 AM Rating: Default
Is this quest broken? I have recieved the letter frome the tracker, but I can never find Achaius. I have spent several hours (real time) waiting on him in the area between MAg Mell and Ardee, and he never shows up. Any help on completing this quest would be greatly appreciated.

No it is not Just did it tonight. Found Achaius in Tin no mBeo stand with some other mecherents. Gave him the letter and got reward he despawned after saying something about a moongem I think it was.

Did not need horse just ran around. was fun for my first night in the game. :-)
Mag Mell version?
# Jan 29 2002 at 1:38 PM Rating: Default
I originally got this quest in Mag Mell from Blaiseach (the stalker trainer). Went to the Tracker, got the note, now to find a guardian in green "in Howth, or Ardagh". Could the instructions be any less specific? LoL! No mention of this Achaius guy. I wonder if there are two versions of this quest, depending on who you got it from? If I find out, I'll post more.
gaylord quest

this is a really really stoopid quest. I have my 4th character now under creation, and i havent been able to complete this quest with any of them... gotta letter.. no one wants it.. hell.. i dont even want to see it never again. :)
How to clear quest
# Jan 25 2002 at 6:32 PM Rating: Default
To clear this quest you need to find the Firlbog champion female with the green cape near this huge marble tower whith a vine spiral stepway going up to the top of it. (Between howth and TnMB) She is at the base (he? lol) give it to her and the quest fails. Now to find this Aichaius guy and give him the note...
Done Finally
# Jan 20 2002 at 8:09 AM Rating: Default
Gave it to Achalius also in Tir na mBeo. Also next to the stable master. Once I gave it to him he took off running north. Didnt noticed how much xp it gave as I was level 18 when I finally finished, hahahha.
Pendragon
# Jan 18 2002 at 10:54 PM Rating: Default
Gave the message to Achaius in Tir na mBeo by the sablemaster. Got quest completed message and experience. Achaius gave a few warnings concerning the moonstone quest and took off running north. I am on Pendragon.
What servers?
# Jan 09 2002 at 7:48 PM Rating: Default
OK I've managed to fail it and am looking agin.

Sereral say they completed it by giving the letter to this Achaius bloke. Others to Twm.

I'm playing Beta on Excalibur (ueroserver). Twm does not exist in Howth, and haven't seen Achaius (off for another look now).

So if you have completed it could you let us know who you gave it to and on what server (maybe the date in case it got broke recently :)

Cheers

RE: Twm

I can't find him either. Is the quet broken? Sucks to get stuck on a broken quest at so early a level
RE: Twm

Ok i believe he is a wandering merchant between Howth and the town to the north
Oops
# Dec 27 2001 at 5:34 PM Rating: Default
I got to the 2nd step of this quest and hit a wall. I could not get anyone to accept the letter so I ended up dropping it on the ground hoping that the quest in the journal would go away. (it didn't) So now what are my options? Can I get the letter back some way and continue? Helpppp
Neither want it
# Dec 04 2001 at 12:21 AM Rating: Default
I can't get Achaius or Twm to take the letter, and my trainer originally told me to bring it to Twm in Howth. I wrote everything down. In fact, I knew about the "deception" before I took the quest, and still no luck.
Cool Quest
# Nov 19 2001 at 12:55 AM Rating: Default
First off, I found this quest to be awesome for the class... very epic sounding (as it is part of the moonstone epic) and it just fit in really well with the whole thing. Seek and Track just adds to it all.

Also, I just wanted to say that I think the Journal is wrong on purpose... the whole point is misdirection. If you follow the journal, you'll end up giving the note to a green cloaked Guardian who will tell you that they will take care of the Seeker and kill him, making you fail the quest. You just have to be careful with this one.
RE: Cool Quest
# Mar 06 2002 at 1:38 PM Rating: Default
Umm...right. How does the journal ommitting the name of who you're looking for make this a good quest? YOU are supposed to be the one writing in the journal- why would you deliberately confuse yourself?

This quest is bad for several reasons, one of which is listed above.

2)It is, or was, apparently broken.

3)Its intended for level 3 characters. People that don't even know how to bring up their compass or jump are supposed to wade through the lying journal pseudo-logic.

4)If you forget who you're REALLY supposed to deliver the letter to, and go back to your guild trainer to check on it, she doesn't tell you. ITS A SECRET! *wink**wink**wink**wink*

5)The satanic "ARE YOU WILLING TO EMBRACE DARKNESS? Accept/Decline" message at the beginning of the quest is sure to frighten off newbs.

6)Mythic doesn't just lie to you- they're also lazy. Instead of creating separate entries for Achaius and Twm, they just say "the letter should be delivered to someone" in two places that a newbie has never heard of. Neither of them are Howth.
Just Did This
# Nov 15 2001 at 10:05 PM Rating: Excellent
* Got the message from Ula
* Got the other quest from Ula
* Found tracker
* Went to TnmB and completed the other quest
* Went to Aardagh, read here, and went back to TnmB
* Found Aichaius and handed it in... quest complete.
