DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

Go to Shannon Estuary and talk to Kinney in Connla and she will tell you about Ascatinius.

Ask Ascatinius in Connla what is [bothering] Kinney. He spawns in the same building as Kinney twice a day.

Go to Treibh Caillte (whole quest is in the dungeon!) and talk to Hervelina. She is reached by killing the Befuddled Rock Golem on the golem teleporters and she asks you to kill a Driff Tinel.

Kill Driff Tinel and he will drop some blood. Take that back to Hervalina.

Now you have to kill Ceracor and he will drop a piece or rock golem. He is located in the same place as the Driff Tinel. Return to Hervalina

Then kill Pericolias the Dreaded who will drop a fang and give that to Hervalina.

You need to locate Hursk the Alchemist's room and look for an Alchemy Book. If there are Troglodytes, you find the room. It will pop into your inventory when you click in the right place.

Use the book by placing in toolbar and pressing the "e" key.

Kill the Dreaded Ursine to get to the forge and right click on the Forge and you will obtain the Faqist. Give the Faqist to Ascatinius in Connla to complete the quest and CHOOSE your reward.

*Note:
Each golem has two possible port locations. If you don't get the correct port, go back and keep trying until you do. Unlike some quests that give you a reward based on your class, this quest lets you chose any of the listed cloaks.

Rewards:
  Mur-Savant Cloak
  Cloak of Steelskin
  Cloak of the Self-Possessed
  Shroud of the Fog

total waste of time!

i spent lots of time, and i HATE giving up,,,,,,,,,,,,,so i just kept plugging at it, kept killing the right mobs, but in wrong order, wish you could do that.......
no thattt would be too easy
Not worth it

Cloak is nice, but quest takes a long time and you have to deal with those stupid golems in TC. The worst is you get no exp at all except for a couple of small bits during the quest. There's no big exp payoff at the end. It takes a long time and is not worth the effort, imo.
Worst

This is easily the worst quest I've ever been subject to.

It involves an average of 64 'ports.' Each port involves killing a golem, and then standing on the teleport platform until the next one spawns.

An average of 64 times. No thanks.
Terrible quest

This quest is frustrating even by old quest standards. The item is of very little value and there is no XP for completing.

Mythic, mark this one for removal or rewriting....
Pericolias spawn
# Sep 03 2004 at 10:30 PM Rating: Decent
When I was hunting with my 35 necro in Treibh (Gaheris) Pericolias spawned in the Ceracor area after I had killed Ceracor.
He doesn't always spawn there, I've killed Ceracor a number of times, and only once did Pericolias pop there. Might just be a glitch, but one perhaps worth pursuing.
Spawn Times for Ascatinius

XP reward

There is an XP reward during the middle of the quest. When my 43th level Enchanter first walked into Treibh Caillte, he received roughly 17 million experience points. Not bad for just stepping into the dungeon.

"There is only an item reward, no xp is given for this quest. Those 3rd party sites recieve their information from players not from us, therefore there is a chance they can be wrong."

Hope this helps anyone else who is wondering why they didnt get xp also :)

2 Ports

Something that isn't mentioned above: each golem has two possible port locations. If you don't get the correct port, go back and keep trying until you do. I soloed this as a 44 Enchanter.

Who ever had the idea for this stupid portsystem should be punished - again and again and again...

When I was on to kill Pericolias I've ported about 30min always to the Driff/Ceracor room ;(

good map of treibh:
http://home.iprimus.com.au/fraggle/maps/Treibh.GIF

You can reach Driff/Ceracor with the first porter right at the entrance (you need the same porter to get to Pericolias).
Driff is in the room downstairs, Ceracor is above.
hm...
