DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

Quest name changed from Tyree's Dyes to Rhian's Dyes.

Talk to Rhian in Tir na mBeo. She is running low on dyes and needs some components for them.
If you could help him she'd appreciate it. She needs a badger scent glance (badgers are along the road south from Mag Mell). She needs the hair from a Wild Lucradan (same area as badgers, two kills will make you KOS with Leprechauns). Finally she needs the eyes from a Large Eirebug. (some are a little south of Howth accross the stone step bridge along the shore). For the first two you get some experience, and 1 silver and some copper. For the third you get some experience and some orange dye worth 50 copper. ( Dye color is most likely random choice of blue, brown or orange.)

I got the quest "Rhian's Dyes" and it has the exact same steps. I haven't completed it yet, but I am on the step to kill the Large Eirebug. I assume the reward is the same as well. I guess they just changed the NPC that gives the quest and thus renamed it.

Well, I got this quest quite accidently. I am level 21 and so far it's sucked and the reward doesnt sound too great at my level... but for lower levels I bet it's good. I'll let you know what color dye i get.

Stupid Rules

I only just learned that you shouldn't kill these lil' guys. How come you have to do it for quests if only two will make you KOS (kill on sight)? They say nothing about them in the rules that come with the game. Since this was my first Online Game I figured they were there for killing. I've been kicking them hard all the way to 13th level. So I am in the Stinking Goo way over my head. But, I won't restart. I want to see just what kind of trouble they can cause me in the long run. They are mostly and annoyance for now.

There are a lot of mob's you will find that have a 'standing' rating, ie., after you kill them will say 'your standing with the ........ has decreased'; siabras, curmudgeons, selkies, suire, blackthorns, fairy court, etc... and will change from neutral, hostile, to aggressive.

This doesn't mean that you shouldn't kill them, you choose what you want to kill, if you don't want to kill them, don't complete the quest, similarly with kill tasks.

If, however, you want your 'standing' with the Lucradens to increase again, try killing a few Clurican's.

Simple quest

I actually thought this quest broke the mold. Not all quests are or should be 'slay the big baddy'. This one was a bit closer to a detailed task. At 11th lvl, i'm still occassionally soloing things near or at the zones where this stuff is to be had, so it was no trouble for me to pick these up while i was in the area. Just took my time and brought them back to Howth when i was ready. I don't think all quests have to be grand or a mystery. It just added flavor and gave the merchants a bit more character.

I agree about this quest adding a little something to the gameplay. It was fun to complete, and got me some exp along the way with bonuses and I ranged in searching out the "ingredients". I received plain ole' yellow dye. It sold for 50cp :). Have fun.

The dye color that comes as a reward seems to be random. I recieved Yellow. I presume that you will always get a pure color dye (red, yellow, blue, green, etc) and not a cheaper light color one.

I got green dye for this quest with my mentalist, as did my eldritch friend (so it's not always orange dye :)

Well I put this in and the tea quest and as I wrote in another forum, I sold my soul for 5 silver.
Course I then restarted my character.

It kind of annoys me that so many quests involve killing these little guys. I mean, there are enough aggressive creatures out in the wild trying to kill you, without having to worry about little green men jumping you while you try to rest.
