DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

Per Read File Fix Jan 03, 2002:
Animists and Valewalkers that received a reinforced pair of Skinner's Gloves when they completed Alastriona's Chest may return them to Alastriona outside of Tir na Nog in Lough Derg and receive a cloth pair of Skinner's Gloves. Players MUST have completed Alastriona's Chest to exchange the gloves. Players made only trade in their gloves once.

Talking with one of the Filidh's they tell you Alastriona just outside the Mag Mell (east gate) entrance to Tir na Nog, has broken her leg and needs some help.

1) Go talk to Alastriona outside Tir na Nog, she tells you a sob story about breaking her leg and how her chest with exotic furs was broken into and the furs stolen, but she tagged them magically and needs someone to help her get them back. So you agree and she sends you of after the first one.

2) White boar skin: This one is in the Cliffs of Moher, this is down the road south from the back enterance of Tir. You are after Bantam Spectre -- which I found one just within the borders of Moher and most spawn at night (which is the way you want it, everything in Moher is aggressive and most higher level than you). Once you get the skin, take it back to Alastriona.

3) Cave bear pelt: This one is found in Lough Derg, near the Parthaan Farm, around the lake behind Mag Mell, look in the woods before you get to the farm and there Sheevra all over, your looking for a Skirmisher. Once you have the skin back to Alastriona with it and off for the next.

4) This time Alastriona gives you 2 to go after. (you may or may not get this step, it seems to vary by report.)

Blood Otter skin: Found on Siabra Fiscere in Shannon Estuary. Cross over the bridge near Connla and head north along the river, they can be found there. The next is found on a Siabra Archer, these are also across the river in the Silvermine Mountains. Once you get the Fiscere continue along the river until you come to the stepping stones, go a little further to the toad stool ring and the and turn in towards the moutains, a little way in there will be a pass to the East, taking that you come out into a little valley with spraggon camp, continue East to the next pass and in there you will find Siabra Miners, Skirmishers, and the Archer you want. After getting the archer is back to Alastriona again for the last skin.

5) Cruiach Daemon Skin: This time Alastriona is sending you after a named crummie poacher in Lough Derg. South East of the Parthaan Farm is a camp of Crummie Fighters and Poachers with Hughar among them. Be careful at 17th these appeared yellow, orange and red to me. I died the first time and had a 23rd level Eldrich with me. The second time I had leveled to 18 and most con'd blue and Hughar was Yellow to me. I had a 22 druid with me and we had no problem getting revenge and the skin from him. Hughar's camp is DIRECTLY behind the singer-fighter camp by the water, near the parth farm. If you're looking at the farmhouse from Mag Mell, go SE around the woods, and follow that hill south, you'll run smack into it. You can see Hughar from the little clearing between the two camps. We pulled him to there, only got one add.

6) Take the last skin back to Alastriona and get you final reward.

She's been giving you some exp and money with each skin, but with the last she gives you a pair of reinforced gloves which con'd blue to me 19th.

Rewards:
  Skinner's Gloves (Leather)
  Skinner's Gloves (Reinforced)
  Skinner's Gloves (Cloth)
  Skinner's Gloves (Scale)

This.....

This was the worst darn description of a quest i have ever read in my entire life. Givf some locs instead of all thoose directions i was getting mad driving after valleys and following rivers north that went from west to east.

I did this quest from level 17 through to 21. The first few kills I had to get help with, couldn't take the chieftain on my own. But after I went up a few levels the rest was relatively easy.
Hughar only appeared at night for me, sort of hidden under one of the leaning buildings at the campsite, yellow as level 21 druid.. easy kill, 1 add. I did contaminate Hughar so that made it a bit easier.
Reinforced Armor skinner gloves for druid.

I got this quest as at level nineteen and I have to kill a sheevra cheiftan to get the last pelt. I can't make my way around the purple and red aggressives!
This Quest...

Hey I am a level 20 enchantress and I have had no problems getting any of the pelts. The spctre were green to me... the fiscere too. The sheevra archer/chieftain was blue. Huhgar, which I'm about to go do is blue to me as well. Overall this is pretty easy, except for the trips back and forth to tnn :)

Sheevra Skirmisher

Step 3 above says Siabra Skirmisher, but quest will properly say Sheerva Skirmisher.
Best way since you are at Alastriona.
Cross road to Meg Mell and get horse to Howth
At Howth, either cross lake going due east, or go east to lake, and south to stepping stone crossing. If you go south, then head back north along water.

At loc=37000,44000 there is a large camp of them. The Skirmisher has the bow (and uses it). He typically has one friend that helps him.
Still seeking skirmisher

Howdy all,
At level 40 Druid, I;ve been trying to clear this quest for sometime. I am STUCK on sighting that stinking skirmisher. Been to the Howth location and searched the MM/Parth Farm loc for hours. I even had fun just taking a single whack at each siabra til I had a long train of em. Still no skirmisher.

Does ANYBODY have a loc on this dude?

Best location for Skimisher is across water from Howth due East on coast after crossing
Bugged Quest
# Jul 27 2002 at 7:16 AM Rating: Default
I started this quest the other day, got the bocan to cough up the white boar hide, went to Alastriona, handed the hide over, she took it (and NO, it's NOT in my pack), then started to give me the second piece, about the cave bear pelt, I clicked on [cave bear pelt] repeatedly, NOTHING happened, my stupid quest log STILL insists I need to hand over the white boar pelt! If I right click on Alastriona she just stands there and looks at me, won't talk, won't start the dialog, NOTHING... anyone know how to kick this stupid quest back into moving? There's no GM's to call to say 'hey can you fix this?'... :(

I'm playing Ese on Prydwen server, if anyone wants to /send to me in game...

Hugher spawns in the camp south-east of the parthaan Farm! Not south-west as said above.
bocan
# Jun 17 2002 at 9:44 PM Rating: Default
Bocan can be found very close to where the road enters the Cliffs of Moher: keep going and follow the road to the left just a little till you see a giant log on its side. Around there you'll see gales and giant beetles and fetches and AT NIGHT ONLY BOCAN APPEAR. Good place to find them is a little to the left of the road into where the ground dips in a little. if not exactly right there, run about a bit in that area towards the steep hill and stone sheerie circle and/or moheran distorter camp.
type of gloves
# Jun 17 2002 at 9:37 PM Rating: Default
I have an eldritch who did the quest, and when I was reading this, I was unhappy because I thought I'd get leather or reinforced armour that an eldritch can't wear, but in fact, she gave me a cloth version of the gloves that give intelligence as a bonus and something else I think that I can't remember.
Quest Experiences
# Jun 11 2002 at 11:53 PM Rating: Default
Husband plays a champion and I play a bard, and we both got the quest last night at level 17. You don't have to talk to any of the Filidiths to get it. They're the mailmen of Hibernia, and just happen to hear of quests that they pass on to you. Just go to Alastriona. If she won't give you the quest, try again at a later level.

Where it says siabra, it usually means sheevra. Apparantly names have been changed since this quest description was written.

On one of the pelts, (I forget which), I had to kill one thing and he had to kill another, but killing my creature gave him the pelt he needed too, even though his quest journal previously asked him to run to bfe across Hibernia to get it.

Wickermen spawned around 2-3am for us, on the road from Connla to Innis Carthaig. (sp) Keep heading south, directions already stated are correct. Be careful of the large dinosaur that wanders there, he was purple and aggressive to us, but he wandered off long before nightfall. A named wickerman spawns with the others, he was red to us, but the rest were blue-yellow.

Hugar's camp is DIRECTLY behind the singer-fighter camp by the water, near the parth farm. If you're looking at the farmhouse from Mag Mell, go SE around the woods, and follow that hill south, you'll run smack into it. You can see Hugar from the little clearing between the two camps. We pulled him to there, only got one add.

Hope that helped some.

Can any one be more specific regarding the location of the bocan just inside the cliffs of moher, I have spent hours of real time & days of game time without finding it. The area I searched was both West & North of the tower just across the border.

I looked all around the area East of Connla with a friend. No spectral wickerman. Day or night. Lots of giant lizards though, so the trip was worth it just to see that! Between the Ire wolves and Water badgers, everything in the area I saw was purple at lvl 18.

OK - I found the correct location after spending several hours looking. Most all the descriptions are correct, but the location to stand is at 7300,47200 and then look due West into the trees ahead. They con blue and green at 20th, and show up after dark. They can be found wandering around among the ants.

I reiceved this quest as a lvl 17 Ranger. Hugher was yellow to me and had 2 adds, but still had no problem bring him down with hit-and-run sniper techniques. All other quest mobs were blue.

Hugar- I was able to pull him alone with a bow, clicking on his lean-to to get his con then eased up till he was bearly in range. Hit him and pulled him out by his lonesome. Had been there twice b4 with a group, up to four, and couldn't get him out without starting a "train" of curms a'rollin'.
Hoghar spawn
# Dec 24 2001 at 4:19 AM Rating: Default
Correction to where Hughar spawns. Not in the SW camp from Parth Farm but in the SE camp. The one with the campkeepers and the dinner hogs. Despawns during the day and was blue at 18. Haven't killed him yet. Pulled him and a campkeeper came with him. Then a yellow fighter jumped in. Being a Nightshade I had my hands full with just the one blue. No way in the world I could take 2 blues and a yellow. Rested up and went back and he had despawned.
RE: Hoghar spawn
# Jan 11 2002 at 7:33 PM Rating: Default
I sat at this camp for hours (RL hours) one day while working on my siabra faction. (Majority of the curms were green with a few blues at lvl 23) Hugar spawned at all hours of the day. I wasnt paying attention to any pattern of his spawning and while he wasnt there all the time he was there during the day and night.
RE: Hoghar spawn
# Feb 23 2002 at 8:03 AM Rating: Default
I just got finished with Hughar, and I saw him during the day, at the camp with the dinner hogs and poachers. It was a hard solo at 18, probably because I pulled just about the whole camp. Fortunately, I'm an enchanter, so my pet took the blows while I nuked Hughar to bits. They did, however, all turn on me after the pet died, and so I did end up dying, but not before I got the demon hide :)

RE: Hughar spawn

If you're in the SW camp (the one with the curmudgeon singers) just head east, up the hill, and down the other side. The camp where Hughar spawns is much larger, and hard to miss. He spawns right under the large lean-to on the north side of the camp.

Real easy to find go to howth, cross river to east walk north. Viola. Sounds too easy, it aint. I posted a message about the damn wickerman but i aint posting it again it was long and drawn out, basically, go to the spots talked about in this thread. You should see an osier, you may have to kill it or attack it and they spawned 12 wickerman.
