04.06.05 Per Patch 1.75:
- Scura tragedia - The summoning circle has been moved to the Salisbury Plains. It is west southwest of Stonehenge Barrows.

Characters that were created after Patch Version 1.79 do not receive this Epic quest.

Must do the Wisdom quest first.

Master Vismer gives you a signet ring and ask that you talk with the scribe Eril, a vassal of Lord Adribard. You will be talking to Eril regarding the lost knowledge of Necromancy.

Eril is found in Adribard's retreat. He stands on top of the tower gazing over the swamp. Target him and ask regarding the undead. He tells you of the list of wizards who have studied necromancy.

Scribe Veral is in Camelot. He informs us that we must find the one who knows the location and incantations for the ritus a potential. We must find Brother Darren in the Vetusta Abbey. Scribe Veral can be found west of the main castle in Camelot.

For the abbey leave Camelot through the north gate and head west. Not to far distant is the compound. Ask Brother Darren of the ritual, but first give him Vismer's ring. This will influence him to tell you of what he knows. He indicates that you must summon a spirit from a circle of stones. This spirit will ask a single question that must be answered. Darren does not know the question or the answer. However, he doesn't know which stone ring must be used. He directs you to Olorustos at the Lethantis Association.

Olorustos indicates to look in a lost tower in Cornwall. Undead speak of necromancers in their mist. There is a summoning circle within a lost tower. The Summoning Circle in Salisbury Plains, loc=11959, 44762. During the night speak "proximare spiritus nonorare". Then ask the spirit of her "list". She will ask a riddle of you before she continues.

The Spirit of the unspoken says, "You seek the unspoken list! We have seen your venture into the darkness, and kow that which keeps my brethren from peace. I shall read the list only should you speak unto me the answer to a [riddle]."

The Spirit of the unspoken says, "The shadow of life passes us, as does the passage of time. When day turns to darkness, time fades into eternity. What then becomes of life?"

The answer to the riddle is "life becomes death."

The Spirit of the unspoken says, "Your words echo within the ears of my brethren, Wizard! Remember what you have learned and do not speak unto others what you hear this day."

The Spirit of the unspoken says, "Vislun, Bernor, Ignuixs, Ablivmu, Arnor, Blaise, Merlin, Ganieda, Viviane, Nimue, Morgana, Elaine, Garlon, Annowre, Byanne"

Once you answer the riddle you must return to Camelot and speak with Master Vismer. He asks for this ring and list to be given back to him. However, he does not require the actual list of wizards given to you by the spirit.

Step 7 Confusion

"ok, im kinda confused, i have spoken to the ghost, gone to master vismer, given him the ring, recievedt he band of earth, and now it says

"step 7, learn the words of power that will manifest the roman undead"

what the heck is that supposed to mean????"

I was kind of thrown off by this as well. This is basically the intro to La Morti Parla which is step 7. It also tells you if you read the text in the dialogue box (which I failed to do at first, it just doesn't update your journal). So just start La Morti Parla from there and you'll be on the right track.

After running around for 1 hour to all the circles in salisbury plains I finally found the Summoning Circle. The location is 11939, 44992 in Salisbury Plains. Once you cross over from Campaccorentin Forest, Jump at the tower and head directly North. It's the first circle of stones across from the tower (it's across the road).

My step 5 sends me to the Summoning Circle in Salisbury Plains, not in Cornwall. This was updated in Patch 1.75:

I did this step of the quest as a 16th level Sorcerer. I charmed a wood ogre seer (yellow con) as a pet. I went down through the field to the east of the roman road. There are very few mobs in that field, and they are easily avoided without stealth. At points along the road there are pairs of skeleton guards, which conned orange to me at level 16. At the bend in the road, which is northeast of the tower, there is a point at which there is a single skeleton guard which also conned orange to me. My pet and I were easily able to kill this single guard and cross the road. However, when I was leaving later, I decided to try to slip across the road between two sets of guards to see if I could cross without them attacking me, and I succeeded, so it was not necessary to fight the guard I killed on the way there. I could have gotten there and back without ever striking a blow.

Once across the road near the bend, there are several purple mobs (purple at level 16) in the area between the road and the tower, including pigs, big cats, and giant skeletons, but they are spread out enough that you can avoid them with care unstealthed. I made it to the tower and climbed up to the top to make sure I did not get any wandering aggro while waiting for night to fall, though this probably would not have been a problem. The mobs do not seem to path that closely to the tower. Waiting for night to fall was the toughest part of this process(oh, the boredom).

Note that I had to descend to the first floor of the tower to summon the spirit of the unspoken. The summoning did not work when I tried it on the roof.

When you first click on the spirit, it seems that the spirit does not respond, as no dialog box appears on your screen. This is because the spirit's first words appear in your normal chat window. The dialog box does not appear until you ask about the list.

One final, irrelevant observation. In the walk-through above, the author states that "there is no evidence of a summoning circle anymore." There never was a "summoning circle." The instruction was that the incantation must be performed within a "ring of stones." The circular tower is built of stones. The tower itself is the "ring of stones." This is also stated by Brother Darren at Vetusta Abbey. This information is absolutely useless in solving the quest. I just thought it amusing that they hid that little riddle within the structure of the quest. One might be expecting to find a set of standing stones in a circle, as appear in so many places in the landscape, but they are not related to this quest at all.

Getting to the tower
# Jun 27 2003 at 2:32 AM Rating: Default
Most of this quest is tedious travel, but getting to the tower is the fun part. I enjoyed it lots. I managed to get there and back without drawing aggro of any mobs. the trick is playing it smart, oh and going to catacombs and then to the tower was an easier path :P

Replacement

When i somehow lost the ring, i appealed it as a emergency, i got it replaced by a GM within 7 mins =)
As for all epic quest, they are crappy set up. If you are a minstrel i suggest you wait with epic quest till you have the mach2 speed song, makes it alot easier.

How to get to the Lost Tower
# Apr 11 2003 at 12:32 PM Rating: Good
ignore the directions given in the guide here, you will most likely die if you follow them. The road it tells you to go down is guarded by deep purple mobs and is surrounded by even worse. I went that way the first time I did this quest and I don't think I've ever been more scared playing this game since.

Instead, once you're at Cornwall station, run west along the road untill you come to a tower that has crumbled in half. From there, if you turn SE, you will see what looks like a roman burial shrine in a circle of standing stones... this is the Catacombs dungeon. Run towards it (the aggro round here is very widely placed, so you should have little trouble), then around it (avoiding the stationary purple mobs that guard it), continuing SE. As soon as you pass it, you'll see the Lost Tower you want in the valley behind. Again, it's a short distance with no aggro in the way, and then all you have to do is go in and wait till night. It's as easy getting back as it is getting there, even in the dead of night.

Good luck.

All the write-ups are about Minstrels... What about the precise steps for Wizards?

See King Constatine's scribe? Like, where?

I think I can see why most wizzies tell me they wait til level 40+ to do the epics.

Argh, I completed everything and now at the end returning to Vismer, I found I lost (or sold) the ring. Just the list is left. He keeps asking for the ring (naturally) but I don't have it. Anyone who can help after all this running around (I'm a lvl 23 wizz)?

Asking a lvl 15 to go to Cornwall and pass thru all the mobs there to get to lost tower ?

I went twice and got killed. tried all the suggestion that ppl have posted but still, got killed. I think i lost more exp than what i'll gain after i get it done.

The worst thing is, all the gaint roosters are now aggressive to people. They used to be neutual.
If i'm not mistaken they con yellow to lvl 35 or higher. i got killed by hitting me once

WTH are they asking lvl 15 go there to do a quest ? hate it ! i'm going with my theurgiest tomorrow to guard my lvl 15. What a quest !

long and hard quest
# Jun 05 2002 at 12:15 AM Rating: Default
Did the epic quest with my minstrel (lvl 15) yesterday. This is a long and possible dangerous
quest. I travelled for a long time on a horse and by foot to go from one place to another pfff.

Avalon Marsh where the tower is is a place with lots of purple monsters to me. I must say I was lucky to find the tower right away without getting
spotted by mobs. Followed the road, didn't took the
left turn towards the catacombs but kept running
and avoiding monsters a bit further. At some point
took a left turn (used stealth because lots of goblins, bears and lions were close) over the hill and walked straight to the tower. Waited till midnight talked to the spirit and got the hell out of that place. Got a nice flute from master vismer.
Anyway this quest takes a long time and is quit
dangerous at lvl 15.

im on step 11 of scura tragedia, it says ive complete la morti parla, and animare il morti.....it says i sneed to put an end to the focus that keeps the roman undead from their rest.

wtf does that mean, i just want to end this nonsense
#Anonymous, Posted: May 27 2002 at 12:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What The stupid Quest does not tell you for the LVL 20 epic is that the La Morti Parla is basicallt the epic 20 quest after you do that one you get the 20 quest to release and then its just running back and forth from cotswald to camelot.

Very Long Quest with not so good reward

I got this quest obviously at 15 as a Sorcerer. I decided to give it a try.

I spent the better part of 2 hours running all over the country side on a horse.

Getting to The Lost Tower in Cornwall was a pain. Everything there was very purple to me. I was however able to sneak to the tower and get there just before day break unscathed. I did the little talking/summoning thing.

Getting back to Cornwall Station was harder. I pulled a nice train but was able to run like hell to get away.

I ended up getting 115,920 EXP plus the Bracelt. Which IMO isn't that great. The EXP gave me ~3/5 of a line. Not bad but 1 bubble would have been nicer. :)

There needed to be at least more EXP or EXP/$$.
