Updated quest dialog submitted by: Aelwynne of Palomides

At level 11, my bonedancer visited her trainer in Jordheim. He tells her that it is time to cut a branch from the [Lone Weeping Willow] to fashion a new staff. (Oddly enough, the yellow quest rings appeared under both the BD and the Runemaster trainer...)

Step #1: Talk to Sentry Litenberg near the guardtower by Dvalin. He will give you more instructions on where to find the Lone Weeping Willow.
  • Sentry Litenberg has been moved from the Myrkwood guardtower to 13428, 52654 East Svealand.

  • Sentry Litenberg says, "Ah, do you search these woods for the Lone Weeping Willow? Several seek this tree for it's branches. Do you seek [a branch] from this willow?"

Sentry Litenberg says, "Well then, I know where you need to search. Go to the western shore of the big lake in West Svealand. The lone willow you seek can be found there, just south of Vindsaul Faste. You must take the branch to Eirik of Audliten. Only he can work that wood."

Step #2: Find the Lone Weeping willow on the lake shore near Vindsaul Faste, in West Svealand. Cut a branch from it.
  • Lone Weeping Willow is found at 44746, 17706 West Svealand. A relatively easy kill, but be careful of the aggressive red/orange mobs in the area.

  • You receive the Lone Weeping Willow Branch from the Lone Weeping Willow!

Step #3: Bring this branch to Eirik in Audliten and see what he can do with it.
  • Eirik is the staff merchant located in the easternmost building in Audliten, loc 9384, 24032 East Svealand.

  • Right click on Eirik.

Eirik says, "Give me the branch, I can work it into a staff."

Hand Eirik the Lone Weeping Willow Branch.

Eirik says, "This is a fine branch. Here, I have fashioned you a staff."

You receive the Weeping Boned Staff from Eirik!
    You are awarded 15,928 experience!

I'm confused.. Quest says that on the left side of the road once you enter Myrkwood forest. But you can enter in many directions. Is the tower near gna waste? Which road?

Alright! I'm setting the record straight. When you get a staff and it has stats like +10 darkness, suppress, etc. It doesn't put up your skill by 10. But it does have stats for a reason, and that reason is that it makes you hit A LOT harder in that particular area of specialization. This is what I have found out on my own, but if I'm wrong, please do correct me.

The levels cut down on the cost of your spells. Without focus spells cost 120% of displayed cost (when you shift+I the spell). If you have a focus even to the the spell's level it will only cost you 90% of the spells cost.

I am lvl 14 and can solo normal yellow con willows easily with a runebolt and a few marks of destruction, above 14 should have no trouble at all.

    The tree and the staff

    I have found the tree.
Looking from Galphen to Gna you must turn to the left and follow the road, after little you will see hill. From the side of the lake you will find the lone willow.

    The staf
I have made it but it NOT give +10 in darkness and so on...
It's magical.. but it DO NOTHING!!!

So good quest only for exp.

The staff gives you some power and it gives you skill in all your different spell types.

It doesnt allow you more spells, but it allows you to land yer spells better.

It doesnt tell you it gives you the skill, but it does. Its also 4.4 DPS, so if you have to smack something to death you can.

I was just wondering, once you attack the "Lone Weeping Willow" will the other willows around it attack, cos i've just got this quest and i can solo yellows, well only if i can get 4 hits in first before that hit me.

I just completed the quest at 11 with a thane friend of mine, the lone willow was still yellow as well as the surrounding regular willows were still orange

Thought that may be interesting info in contrast to the above message.
Hmm .. I never got this quest
    # Nov 09 2001 at 8:16 AM Rating: Default

Keep going south past Gna Faste, if the road starts to turn east, you're in svartalf watcher country and have gone a bit too far. Right before it does though will be a hill on the left between the lake and road. The Lone Willow is in the center of the hill on the lake side. Conned yellow to me at 13, and was surrounded (this is where you have to be careful) by oranges. Run to the the shoreline and blast him from there. It's easy.
